I figured this was one of those scenarios, since we're investigating a place where someone disappeared. If you think otherwise I'll go with that though.
Nevermind... In retrospect, I did describe the place as an eerie dark alley, and Tai Leng did notice the suspicious dogs following the party... It's not a big deal anyway. Besides, when in doubt, I'd rather give the player a small bonus than unknowingly cheat against him. You can keep your hit points. ^^
Your turn, BTW.

Tai Leng |

Leng steps over, and swings his fist from the darkness, crackling with fire and electricity.
Spell Combat 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Attack 2 with Shocking Grasp and Elemental Fist: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 8 + 3d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 8 + (3, 3, 3) + (5) = 26
An extra +3 on that last one if he has metal.

GM Lemmy |

No metal armor, but you still hit him.
bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
The hound to Tai Leng's left steps closer to him and attacks, but his fangs are easily deflected.
Another dog instinctively attacks the wolf who materialized next to it, and successfully draws blood from the celestial beast.
bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
The ogre-sized criminal roars in pain due to Tai Leng's attack, but is still standing. He takes a step back and attacks with his heavy flail.
heavy flail: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Tai Leng is almost hit, but curves his body at the last second and sees the weapon pass a few inches from his face.

Brother Cyrus |

Brother Cyrus invokes the favor of the gods to shift the tide in his favor. Casting Bless
"Foul curs, a swift end is but a mercy!" Cyrus shouts as his Celestial Wolf sets itself upon the dog again.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Eitylen |

Monster!, you better leave know that you can!- say the elf before trhowing a bomb to the man
Bombs: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 92d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4) + 3 = 10

GM Lemmy |

Ah. I always gloss over the "Current turn" thing.
Understandable. I didn't bother to update each with the other characters' turns last night because we were posting in rapid succession. The Flurry of Posts coincidentally ended on your turn again.
Well... Let's assume you hit dog 2, since it's the one who came closest to hitting Tai Leng (damn Mage Armor retcon... XD)
Tai Leng delivers a swift kick to the dog's jaws, slaying the hound in the process.
Its deaht doesn't seem to get in the way of the 4th dog's fight with the celestial wolf. Its incompetence does, though...
bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
¬¬'
Okay, who cursed my campaign's dice?
Brother Cyrus' turn.

GM Lemmy |

While inspecting the bloated man's corpse (which shrinks back to its original size after a minute is past), Tai Leng notices that his eyes have a faint yellow hue to them... But this is the least of his worries. A different fact puts Tai Leng on his guard: the man's veins. Or more specifically, the purple color that taints the veins next to his lips. The same taint that was seen in around the wounds of corpses of Theodore and Marilia.

GM Lemmy |

Just to share with everyone the answer to a question that Nicos made in Roll20:
The purple hue is just a little taint next to the bald man's lips.
It wasn't present on him (or at least, you didn't see it) when combat started.
EDIT: Eitylen doesn't notice any presence other than owls, dogs and rats...

GM Lemmy |

Eitylen sees a shadowy Figure with what looks to be a blowgun in its hands, standing on the rooftop directly across the street from the building he's climbing. The creature is about the size of a dwarf... Once it seems the elf is unimpeded by the little dart, it turns away and moves back into the shadows, disappearing from sight.

Eitylen |

Eitylen finish cilimbinb then move so he can run and jump to the other side
Jump: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25
THIS WAY! -He say to his companions

GM Lemmy |

I guess we're having an chase scene... *sigh*
Brother Cyrus: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Eitylen: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Tai Leng: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Dwarf-sized Shadowy Figure: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Tai Leng
Shadowy Figure
Brother Cyrus
Eitylen
Let me take a moment to decide how to run this... The standard chase rules are a bit too restrictive for my tastes
Tsc... G*+&~&n it, Nicos... ¬¬'

GM Lemmy |

Okay... let's say that each "chase card" is 30ft long... I'll describe the terrain and obstacles... The DCs scale in +4. starting with 10 for easy obstacles and up to 26 for really difficult ones. You can try overcoming said obstacles in anyway you can come up with, including finding an alternative route... Failing means you only move half your move distance. Failing by 8 or more means you don't move.
Is that okay? Anyone has a better idea? I haven't ever used chase scenes before ina game where I am the GM...
Anyway, right now, both Eitylen and the shadowy figure are on top of a 2-story building... That's about 25ft high, but there are good places to grasp, so it's a somewhat easy climb... Let's say, a DC 16 climb check lets you Climb a distance equal to your movement speed. Eitylen is right next to the edge of the roof, the area where the shadowy figure seemed to disappear is 40ft away from him, there are no obstacles in his path.

Tai Leng |

GM Lemmy |

IMO chase scenes should be as loose, rules-wise, as possible.
That's how I see it as well. I dislike the normal chase rules because you're given two choices of skill checks and have no other option... Failed diplomacy? Failed stealth? Too bad! For some reason you're unable to just kill the bouncer and get in... Or to use bluff/disguise to pass as a different person. -.-'
My face.
Well... You move half your movement speed. So there is that...
Eitylen can't discern much about the suspicious character (it's a shadowy figure after all), but he does identifies a few things... Other than the obvious fact that it's hiding itself under a cloak, Eitylen cn see a few strands of long spiky hair escaping from its hood, and its face seem to continually display an stony grin... Its eyes are the only thing the elf can see more or less clearly... Two yellow orbs with no visible iris.
The creature runs surprisingly fast for something no bigger than a dwarf. It runs a few feet before expertly leaping over to the next roof.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
It's Brother Cyrus' turn, although there is not really any problem with Eitylen goingbefore him... Unless Scavion decides to make trip Nicos' character.

GM Lemmy |

The two buildings have roughly the same height, which is why you can leap form one roof to another. Assuming the alleys between buildings all have the same width (25ft) and using the rules I mentioned to you earlier on Roll20 (for every -5 you fall short of the DC 25 Acrobatics check, you reach the wall 5ft bellow its top), Eitylen falls 5 ft from the edge of the roof where the creature is...
Make a Climb check. DC 14 allows you to climb and still move half your speed (ending 25ft from the creature). DC 10 allows you to reach the top but not move any more than that (ending 40ft away from the creature). Because you ahve Run, you can try to clear two obstacles, as long as at least on of them involves running.
The creature doesn't bother to answer Eitylen's question... Or even to look at him.

Brother Cyrus |

D'oh! I knew there was a campaign I forgot to post for yesterday.
Brother Cyrus frowns at the idea of climbing and jumping over buildings. Instead he invokes a blessing of Desna and his feet seem to carry him further.
Let's see if I can fall behind like this.
Though he follows from the ground, Cyrus moves lightning quick. When needed he'll ask the locals for directions and is willing to get money involved for knowledge of shortcuts.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Speed is currently 50ft a round.

Eitylen |

I take 10 for climb and then keep runing, then screw the running
Bomb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 82d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1) + 3 = 6
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHUHGg&%%%%%%$&######$#%%##&&&#####%"" """"""""""""""

Brother Cyrus |

If Brother Cyrus can reach the shadowy figure at any point, he'll attempt to Hold Person(DC 16) the creature.

Kadir Drummond |

Meanwhile down the street! Kadir's conjured steed trots slowly towards the Hostels as he looks down absently at a letter, his Musket resting across his lap. "Now where in the hells could she be? This can't be the right address, this place is a slum!"he remarks, taking note of the strange abundance of owls and feral dogs. He almost resigns to stop at a nearby tavern to ask for directions till a sudden familiar sound booms in the distance followed my much commotion in the street.

GM Lemmy |

Brother Cyrus is still a bit too far from the creature to target it with a spell. (to be more accurate, the creature is in range of the spell, but because because Brother Cyrus is at ground level while the fugitive's on the rooftops, the line of sight is broken to often to target it (although not often enough for Brother Cyrus to lose track of it, since he succeeded on his "obstacle check". If you reach the same card as the fugitive target, you can target it with no problem, but your turn comes after the creature's)
It's kinda... difficult to keep track here, but let me try to review...
Round 1
Brother Cyrus and Tai Leng were at "card 0" (AKA the alley)
Eitylen and the shadowy figure were both at "card 1", although 30ft apart from each other (AKA rooftops)
Round 2
Everyone succeeded on their skill checks... Moving 1 card. Because he has Run, Eitylen could move 2 cards (as long as at least one obstacle involves running), but he failed a check, so he only moved 1.
Whenever you stop to do something other than move forward (attack, cast a spell, etc), you only move "half a card".
I said each card is 30ft long... Although, in hindsight, it makes more sense if they are 60ft long, as that matches the action economy of making a double movement or using a standard action and then moving.
Again, when you fail an "obstacle check", you move half a card, meaning that even if you fail again on your next check, you successfully move on, but if you fail by a difference of -8 or greater, you don't move at all
So... Current positions are as following:
Shadowy Figure: card 2 (rooftop)
Eitylen: card 2 (rooftop)
Brother Cyrus: card 1 (streets)
Tai Leng: card 1 (rooftop)
The turn is reset... Its currently Tai Leng's turn. In a moment, I'll add a post describing what Kadir sees.

GM Lemmy |

Kadir's Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 :/
Kadir will start at card 1 (streets), since you just crossed path's with him and I don't think the rooftops would be his first choice of path to reach his niece's house. What he sees will depend on what happens during the turns that precede his own.
