OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH This is not going to be a good battle for me it seems.
Hmmm I was distracted by Ryan my 19 month old would have been a much better shot if he hadn't been climbing up in my lap while i was typeing.
Well GM have some fun thats 2 nat 1s already in this campain.
Or was it Cains punch to the arm..... shouldn't do that to someone about to shoot a bow ya ya thats it :P
O if i manage to die have a half orc barbarian ready to go :D

Well, if we assume he is a level 1 squat-wad like the others (which he is), and that he is flat-footed (which he is), and that he is wearing leather like the others. Then actually, I think you hit him.
Cael take aim, sneezes during the release, and still manages to impale his target. We'd never let you live that one down. ;-)

I don't want to nitpick, but aren't the Summon Monster spells a full round to cast?
summoner special ability page 31 Final Guide Playtest.pdf
Starting at 1st level, a summoner
can cast summon monster I as a spell-like ability a number
of times per day equal to 3 + his Charisma modifier. He
can cast this spell as a standard action and the creatures
remain for 1 minute per level (instead of 1 round per
level). At 3rd level, and every 2 levels thereafter, the power
of this ability increases by one spell level, allowing him
to summon more powerful creatures (to a maximum
of summon monster IX at 17th level).

Where do you get 8 summoned monsters? I see 1d4+1 of monsters 2 levels below the level cast, but I'm not getting the number 8.
The duration plus the number of times to cast per day are both huge bonuses.
You can do it 3+Cha bonus times per day. With a 20 Cha, that gives you 8 casts a day. You could feasibly cast it 8 consecutive rounds and have 8 summons on the field at once.

OH! I get it, duh! For some reason I thought that the previous summon was dispelled by casting again. If that's true then in theory I could have 40 creatures walking around if I cast 8 straight times, summoning lower-level creatures that would get 1d4+1 creatures, and rolling perfectly.
But I'm with Cael, surviving to that level would be a good start.

Actually, it looks like Jack is correct. The last line of the ability description says "If this ability is used again, any existing summon monster or gate immediately ends". Now, there's nothing stopping him from learning and casting Summon Monster spells with his normal spell allotment, but then he would start eating the full round cast times, and that would be lame. Though you could Quicken them....

Well thank you for the correction Acalon. It's been a while since I looked at it. Or at this thread for that matter. Hopefully Red is busy calculating up the treasure horde for everyone. Those Masterwork handaxes are worth a pretty penny. little over 300 new, close to 160 each sell price.
I think the big questions becomes, after this, do you head back to Oleg's immediatly with the loot, or explore further and come back for it. It's too much to carry without the wagon.

Cael - 42 |

Unless we find out something interesting from our surviving bandit am all for going back to oleg's and doing a bit of exploring. Figure we can explore the territory between here and oleg's as we take the wagon back. wagon is slow and we can range out to the sides exploring the area.
Just curious any xp for our rp and fighting expertise?

And yet who is it we're waiting on now, hmmm?

Cael - 42 |

Ok totally out of character here but is our good GM trying to tell us that the Kobalds goona wipe us off the face of the game world and we best go elsewhere? Or would killing off the Kobalds screw up something else in the world?
Hope not cause Cael would really rather they were exterminated.

Cael - 42 |

dang it, I can hit but can't do any damage i NEEED some damage help somewhere... where is the magic longbow of damage +5 when i need it. don't they come standard in kobold lairs kept unused in the rack o' magic weapons that the king kobold always has but never uses? lol

Acalon |

Unfortunately, with no str bonus you're pretty much stuck until magic bows become common.
Also, Allan, I discovered where my character sheet got its information about the horse having a bite attack. If you look at the entry for horse in the druid animal companion section, it is listed as having a 1d4 bite attack and 1d6 hoof attacks. Since the cavalier treats its mount as an animal companion for progression purposes, I suspect it just pulled all the stats on the druid horse companion rather than the horse in the monster manual.

Cael - 42 |

yup that is where the arcane archer part of my build was supposed to kick in but it taking a bit of time to get there..... hmmm need level 4 ranger.... then 1 level of sorc.... then can start with one level of arcane archer...... so will need to be level 6 before get more damage. WOW gonna be a bit of time!

Hmmm... Should check this board more often. :) Luckily it pulls up automatically on my PC. And luckily, I'll be home and able to use it next week. Yay! I finally get to go home. :)
On another note. I just wanted to congrat everyone on reaching 600 posts. That's awesome. Also to say that I'm having a blast and I hope everyone else is too. I know the lvling is slow, but as long as it stays fun, I'm not too concerned. Besides, we're a good way to lvl 2, should get there soon I think. And with as long and hard as you're having to work to get there, just imagine how much satisfaction you'll have when you do. :)

I must be the only one with no life... I check the board about 2x per day and mostly come up disappointed. *sigh* spent afternoon watchen football and trying to teach my 2 year old how to hit a ball off his plastic t-ball set that he got for his birthday. He got pretty good for a 2 year old. (might be a bit bias) Watchen my colts now see if they can manage to win.
