Bucket The Black |

I am not going to be to descriptive. Got alot going on but I want to progress the story
there is no pawn placement token for Bucket. So please place me accordingly
All the while Bucket had stopped talking the moment the group was confronted. As the water enshrouds one of the pirates Bucket (snatches, moves, engages) another of the pirates to get him in a headlock and use the scurvy knave to negotiate a proper outcome
Bucket is not enraged yet
Grapple CM: 1d20 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 3 = 6
Bucket reaches for the soggy wet pirate who was just douched. But the wetness combined with the pirates natural stink oil afforded him no purchase upon the head in which to lock.
Oh Damn... says Bucket loudly.

![]() |

The pirates all move to engage.

Bucket The Black |

A Guttural, Primal howl followed by a vicious snarl erupts from Bucket as his instincts for rage and death take over. Just before he turned primal a deep pain ripped across his body. But that doesn't matter. The pain is gone, it must not have happened. His cutlass is aimed at the bastard who swung at him last. Driving his blade forward:
Attack: 1d20 + 1 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 1 + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
The rage inside Bucket, the Anger, he knows he needs some control. Even in this state he is aware that his hilt probably did more damage to that future corpse than the cut of his blade.. but what does it matter.. in the end this pirate will die... they all will..
Bucket is enraged

Ausk could run it down...if he took an AoO...
Ghiv summons his seawater and attempts to ram a pirate #3 into the rocks.

![]() |

weak AoO on Ausk: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 The escaping pirate is down. You guys mop up the battlefield leaving all the pirates unconscious. One of the sniveling whelps maybe coaxed back to conciousness if you wish to question him. In any case END COMBAT.

Calin Proudkin |

"Good job Ausk! Well that was an interesting reception. Apparently the Captain and Teemo have a history. She must have known we'd get a less than cordial reception." He turns over one of the bodies and begins to search it. "Maybe this was some sort of test, an initiation of sorts. Has anyone actually looked in the chest of gold she sent us in with?"

You walk a few hundred yards inland and find a small village. There is a large pub on a boardwalk built over the sand here. Inside, besides what you'd expect from a pirate bar, you see all kinds of things:
1. On the east wall a man with a blackboard is taking bets on the day's lizard race. The lizards and their riders are listed. One lizard named 'Jambo-Jambo' does not have a rider and the owner of that lizard is arguing with the booky that his lizard should not be removed from the race.
2. On the west wall is the bar. Rows upon rows of dirty bottles line the walls behind the barkeep. Pirates at the bar are talking of rumors of treasure to be had all over the shackles. DC12 perception check to listen in, or DC12 Diplomacy checks to talk to the pirates.
3. Chained up and hanging from the roof over your head is the decayed carcass of a mermaid, it's skin and scales blackened with mummification. It's eye sockets are blank, the eyes having rotted away years ago. DC15 perception to notice more. Or DC13 Knowledge to know more about mermaids. DC10 survival or related to know what happened to this mermaid.
4. A giant creature with the body of a walrus and the head of an orca sits on a dias on the north side of the room. Chained to him is a young black lady. She is very attractive but scantily clad. She is being made to dance for the creature who laughs and pulls her closer now and then for a 'kiss'. DC12 sense motive check to know more.
5. Pirates are playing pirate-poker at one table in the center of the room. There are chairs empty. DC12 diplomacy to join the game. Or DC17 intimidation.
As always, other checks are available to you as well. You can do whatever you want.

Yikes! This would be much cooler if you guys did one check at a time. Decide/post what your character is doing, roll the check, then wait for the response. That way we can use this situation to RPG. Rolling them all at once I think might kill the possibilities in this room?
Calin listens in to the pirates at the bar...

Ix Chal |

Ix will spend a moment washing the blood off him in the ocean before heading into town. Once there he looks around and looks amazed at the mermaid for moment, while he is planning to go check the odds at the races he is drawn the mighty hunt that would have ended in the mermaid's death.

Bucket The Black |

Bucket is not sure what happened back there with the welcoming committee. At one point he knew he was so upset that he couldn't think straight, or hit straight either. He doesn't remember much about the fight but he is amazed he is still alive... or is he?
wisdom: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Am I Dead asks Bucket to Calin. Did I die?
After being assured that he was alive he strikes up a conversation with Calin. He was pretty sure Calin was ignoring him and concentrating on other conversations, politely listening to his banter. But when he mentioned looking in the chest Bucket became very curious.
Who else is curious what's on this note? something isn't right here. Anyone here skilled enough to remove the wax seal?
Are we in a pirate bar full of knaves and theives with a chest full of 500 gold pieces?

![]() |

Knaves and Thieves: Ayup.

Calin Proudkin |

Am I Dead asks Bucket to Calin. Did I die?
"Yes but I paid to have you resurrected. You owe me 10,000 gold." Calin answers with a straight face.
Who else is curious what's on this note? something isn't right here. Anyone here skilled enough to remove the wax seal?
"Does anyone have any skill with forgery?"

Ghiv Masdara |

Ghiv walks in with the catman and immediately notices the mermaid.
My kinfolk, relegated to ornaments in a pirate dive.

I'm going to get a drink, and find out more about this race. Ghiv says to Ix Chal before leaving the catfolk staring at the fishy treat.

![]() |

Well, Ghiv knows all kinds of things about this mermaid I guess!

Kaz Seaborn |

On the east wall a man with a blackboard is taking bets on the day's lizard race. The lizards and their riders are listed. One lizard named 'Jambo-Jambo' does not have a rider and the owner of that lizard is arguing with the booky that his lizard should not be removed from the race
Kaz Is gonna check the action on the lizard race.

Profession Gambling: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Ghiv Masdara |

Yeah, the Cantina scene!
I will destroy the bastard that committed this atrocity.
Ghiv sidles up to the bar and orders Grog.
What are the odds on the new lizard?

Ausk Goruzka |

Ausk sighs in frustration. Chelish...why Chelish?"
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Knowledge (Nature) For Mermaid: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Survival: 1d20 ⇒ 8
The bard stares at the mermaid for a moment before ordering a mug of beer and settling himself down with the tavern patrons. "So what's the news? Just got into port and trying to find somethin' to occupy my time."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Bucket The Black |

Wisdom: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Bucket realizes that Calin is joking and laughs heartily with a firm clap on the half elf's back.
Bucket is not concerned with some fake road side attraction hanging from the ceiling. Whatever this islands crowd likes for clutter is no concern of his. However, there are two things bothering him.
First, what is their new Captain playing at. The note, the gold, the odd welcoming committee. It's not sitting well with him. Neither is that rotten stew he made. That must be the problem with his current fighting prowess.
Second, that girl on a chain is really starting to piss him off. It's hard to concentrate on the problem at hand when a mockery of your child hood is being displayed grotesquely before you. He can't help but study the situation.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Whatever is going on there is something he might have to deal with before he can move on.
