Professor Paradigm
Removing the device from the storage locker, Paradigm goes to the door. He looks the pick up person over and says, ”Well, isn’t there something you have for me too?”
He awaits the proper code phrase. If he doesn’t get it, he will freeze the man in place.
SuperSorcery Entangle: 1d12 - 2 ⇒ (9) - 2 = 71d6 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3
Professor Paradigm
The Professor rolls his eyes at the obvious lack of intellect in the man. "The passphrase. The code. The thing that tells me I should give this to you and that you are not an imposter. If you do not have it, I should be forced to blast you into oblivion here and now. " He stares at the man expectantly.
Professor Paradigm
Raising his brow, Paradigm sighs and hands over the part. Once the man leaves, he closes the door and looks to the others. "I am returning to my lab. Perhaps the good Doctor will have something else for us. In the meantime, I am going to work on some gloves so you don't ruin everything in sight, Bio."
Professor Paradigm
Sure thing.
SuperSorcery Boost Attribute-Science!: 1d12 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -11d6 - 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) - 2 + (1) = 5
Boosted Science!: 1d10 ⇒ 81d6 ⇒ 1
Paradigm, oddly enough, sets to work creating something for his teammate. He didn’t stop to think about the ramifications, instead, he theorized that it would be far easier for the creature to be able to perform the necessary functions in the next mission if he didn’t have to worry about dissolving everything in sight,
GM_ZenFox42
A few days later, Dr. Destruction contacts you over comms and gives you another password, and says to expect a delivery.
The next day, you hear a knock on the door. You hear the password, and let the guy in. He's got an old-fashioned-telephone-booth-sized box on a cart, and an envelope. He drops them both off and leaves.
Opening the envelope, you see a letter written in gibberish. Recognizing that it's encrypted, you type the letters into the base computer and out comes the following :
Step inside and press the red button. It will teleport you one at a time to Atlantis to another tube like this one. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to breathe. Make your way to the Temple and find the Crown. When you have it, return to where you entered and press the blue button. Signal me when you have returned so that I might arrange to have the Crown brought to me.
What do you do?
Professor Paradigm
Paradigm, upon completing his work, gives his gift to BioHazard. "Here. These gloves should help you from destroying everything you touch. You put them on and your caustic touch is negated. Take them off and you are back to your acidic self. Easy enough?"
After gaining a new mission, Paradigm tries not to think of the word 'gopher'. Certainly he has better things to do than go and retrieve a crown from a place that doesn't.. wait a moment. He did say 'Atlantis', right? This could be interesting.
"Alright boys, we got ourselves a quest. Time to go and take something that doesn't belong to us. Ready?"
"Biohazard"
Biohazard looks at the gloves dubiously but slides them onto his gobby hands. He flexes his fingers and gingerly touches the wall. Satisfied, he nods his thanks and considers for a moment.
"Atlantis? Like dat place what sank? I thought that wuz a myth!"
Professor Paradigm
The Professor nods. "You and me both. Mostly gibberish from a time before science proved that such a place could not have existed as described, though the landmass itself might have. Millions of years before humans. Either way, this Atlantis may be something else entirely."
GM_ZenFox42
What you know about Atlantis is : the Atlaneans used to intermingle with the surface dwellers (you), and had a thriving race in their undersea domes. Most of them disappeared after the K’therans appeared (the aliens who attacked Earth then the V'Sori came to "rescue" you from them, but they turned out to be working for the V'Sori). There's much speculation about how many Atlanteans still survive and what the status of their underwater city is.
What do you do?
Professor Paradigm
Paradigm thinks for a moment. "Let's go figure out what exactly we need to do to get this crown. I'll go first."
After making sure his protective field is in place, the Professor steps into the booth and presses the red button.
"Biohazard"
Biohazard is hesitant, not sure that the Doctor's promise of his being able to breathe will hold true, but he follows Paradigm in and presses the red button.
Enkїdu
Just me, I think. Part of his backstory was that his genetic disorder was peculiar to hybrids. His mother abandoned him and his father when it appeared clear his condition was fatal. I'm picturing him as being about 8 or 9 when that happened. He hasn't seen her since.
Professor Paradigm
Not that I am aware of.. Paradigm was abducted, but probably not by Atlanteans.
GM_ZenFox42
Sorry, work's been slamming me lately...
Paradigm, after you push the button, nothing seems to change except you now notice a sheet of paper on the floor of the booth. It says "The Temple of the Four Seas is in the middle of the dome".
As you each open the booth's door after pushing the button, you find yourself in a vast undersea dome. There are many buildings, but most of them are crumbled and blasted with scorch marks.
What do you do?
Professor Paradigm
Looking around, Paradigm shakes his head. "What exactly constitutes a middle?", he says to no one in particular. Activating his internal nano machines, he scans the environment for what might be the temple and anything protecting it.
Supersorcery Boost Notice: 1d12 - 2 ⇒ (10) - 2 = 81d6 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3
Raised Boosted Notice: 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + (4) = 101d6 ⇒ 2
"Biohazard"
Biohazard steps out gingerly, fully expecting to find himself immersed in water. He is surprised to find that he is completely dry (well, as dry as he can be). "So where do we go from here, Prof?"
Enkїdu
'I visited here a couple of times as a kid, though it's been at least a decade. Regardless, I'm pretty sure the middle is the highest point in the dome." He points towards the direction in which the giant dome, holding out the crushing pressure of the ocean outside, appears its tallest, the obvious suggestion being that this in the direction they should go.
GM_ZenFox42
Paradigm, I'm confused about your Boost Notice. Boost Trait raises the Notice die by 1 (so your d4 becomes a d6), but you rolled 2d6 and a d6 for the Wild die? You got a Raise on your Boost, but that just increases the die by one more, so you should have rolled a d8. Or does SuperSorcery work differently?
In the meantime, everyone continue to role-play your situation.
Professor Paradigm
I rolled the d6, it aced and I then added that. For some reason in my mind I had no notice at all, so I only gave myself a d6. I will reroll with do.
Boosted Notice: 1d8 ⇒ 41d6 ⇒ 4
Paradigm scowls at Enkidu. "I knew that, I was merely implying that in terms of where the temple might be. Since you have been here before, perhaps you can show us the way?"
"Biohazard"
Biohazard tries to let out a low whistle, but it comes out sounding more like a loose and juicy razzberry. "Dis is sum setup. Howd'ya think they built dis place?"
Professor Paradigm
Paradigm looks around, his sensors picking up what they can. ”I am recording what we are seeing at the moment. Perhaps with some time for analysis, we can figure out how it is done. For the time being, I suggest we go to this temple and get what we came for. The Doctor does not like to be kept waiting.” The last part he almost spit out, his contempt for being kept on a leash evident.
"Biohazard"
Biohazard shrugs and follows the Professor, who seems to know where he is going. He is alert for possible ambush, however, not being entirely convinced that this place is safe.
Professor Paradigm
”I don’t know exactly how they built it, but I can for sure tell you how it got destroyed. The same way all civilizations fall. Decadence and war.”, Paradigm muses out loud.
Professor Paradigm
Paradigm, seemingly not surprised by the sudden appearance of their enemies, activates his shield with but a thought and prepares for combat. ”I knew something was up when it was just a bit too quiet.”
Not sure if it matters at this point, but Paradigm does have danger sense. If he had noticed them before hand, he would have already activated his shield. Either way, it gives him a Toughness of 13.
"Biohazard"
Biohazard spits a gob of slimy goo into his hands and shapes it into a ball, then hurls it at the nearest V'sori.
Throwing: 1d10 ⇒ 8 Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Each round of contact destroys 10 pounds of matter. Living beings must make a Vigor roll or suffer a wound.
GM_ZenFox42
Paradigm - Danger Sense says only that if *you* are about to be surprised, you get a Notice-2 roll. I don't think it matters that the other guys weren't prepared either. But OTOH, even if you make your roll you only start the first round on Hold, which doesn't do anything for you in this case since you are the first to act anyway. DS seems to help only when your side is Surprised, and might not be dealt an Initiative card on the first round, in which case you do.
Biohazard - Decay says "Harming living beings requires a Touch Attack", which is Fighting+2 vs. Parry. Please re-roll.
"Biohazard"
I thought that the Projectile modification made it a Thrown attack, but that's cool.
Fighting: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 Wild: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
GM_ZenFox42
Biohazard - sorry, I'd completely forgotten that your build included Projectile. Could you please remind me that you're using it each time you attack? Thanks!
I'm going to change the way I've been handling Decay : now if you hit, and they have armor, the armor is affected first. Rolling Vigor and then saying the armor is affected if they fail the Vigor roll doesn't make any sense.
Biohazard's goo partially melts his target's armor.
GM_ZenFox42
The 6 Fin open fire on you :
Targeting Biohazard :
Shooting: 1d10 ⇒ 6
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 3) = 9 No damage
Shooting: 1d10 ⇒ 4
Targeting Enkidu :
Shooting: 1d10 ⇒ 7
Shooting: 1d10 ⇒ 3
Targeting Paradigm :
Shooting: 1d10 ⇒ 5
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 5) = 14 Paradigm is Shaken
Shooting: 1d10 ⇒ 1
Enkidu's up!
Enkїdu
There was an error in my stat line; in this form, my range TN should be 6, not 8; I think I must not have updated that from another form. As a result, one of those blasts should have hit me. Let me know the damage, and I'll soak if needed.
Claw: 1d12 ⇒ 21d6 ⇒ 3
Claw: 1d12 ⇒ 81d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + (1) = 7
Damage: 1d12 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (9) + 4 + (3, 3) = 19
Professor Paradigm
Spirit to get back in the fight: 1d8 ⇒ 31d6 ⇒ 1
Guess I’ll spend the Benny then, 2/3
Paradigm is shocked at just how accurate that shot was and decides that this Fin was more of a threat than he should be. Focusing his power, he decides to erase this one from existence.
Plasma Bolt: 1d12 ⇒ 61d6 ⇒ 2
Burn!! AP2 Lethal Plasma: 5d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 2, 5, 1) = 11
"Biohazard"
Biohazard hurls another glob of goo at Fin #4. {He has the Projectile modification on his touch.}
Throwing: 1d8 ⇒ 4 Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 6 Ace!: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Each round of contact destroys 10 pounds of matter. Living beings must make a Vigor roll or suffer a wound, once the armor is gone.
GM_ZenFox42
Paradigm's attack misses the Fin.
Enkidu's first attack rips that Fin apart, and his second attack rips another Fin apart.
Biohazard's attack destroys more of his target's armor, now leaving his flesh exposed.
The 3 remaining Fin turn back around the corner they popped out of, and start to run away.
Running: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Distance from you : 9"
Everyone make a Notice-2 roll, please.
