seems like none of us are scouts. If we're waiting for darkness, sure - advance?

Oh, Joran's a scout, but not one for hiding in the snow that much, and he'd stick out like a sore thumb without some sort of camouflage.

F+2/R+5/W+5 35/35HP AC 15 Wizard (Foresight) 5/Archmage 2. MP 5/5 HP 35/35 Prescience 9/9

Oh yeah, you are! How about a big white furry tarpaulin?

Joran motions for quiet and stealthily crawls up to peer out at the 'civilization' that Zorariel had spotted.

Allright I am back. First of all I will not be able to post daily anymore but would like to continue this thread.

I am a little lost how are you preparing? Please state what you are going to do. Before I continue with what you have spotted.

F+2/R+5/W+5 35/35HP AC 15 Wizard (Foresight) 5/Archmage 2. MP 5/5 HP 35/35 Prescience 9/9

I believe Joran has taken one of our new furs for camouflage and is doing recon, while the rest of us hide under the other one.
I'm a little confused as to what day it is - is this the first encounter of a new day post-snowstorm?

Half-Orc Bard 1 / Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +4 / AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16 (+4 armor, +2 Dex) hp 10/10 / Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4 / Inspire Courage left: 1/6

Welcome back! Last thing I remember, Joran was going to scout out the individuals we had spotted while we stood at the ready for anything that may come up back here.

HP 88 | AC 24 | PD 19 | MD 17 | Init:+8 | Recoveries 2/3 (5d8+4) Elf Ranger 5

Yep, that's how I remember it.

Male Dwarf Survivalist/Scout 5, mythic champion 2 -AC 19/15/14, F+3/R+9/W+1, Init +25/+5, Per +8 - HP 55/58

The scout's gone scouting. But he rolled a 1 on his perception check. He's going to continue to remain stealthed, though, hopefully. And eventually try to take 10 on a perception check.

Seeing the unnatural flashes of light, Joran heads towards the reflections while the rest of the group hides awating his return. The dwarf moves across the snow covered landscape, his boots almost making now sounds in the new fallen snow. Wrapped in one of the hides of the winter wolves he blends almost into the surroundings. However the sun is playing tricks on his eyes and he can't get a clear view of the unknown threat, so he moves closer.

Joran - I am not giving you a take 10 on the roll but I'll let you roll again. This will give me an indication of how close you have to get.

Zorariel - This is the first day after the snowstorm.

Male Dwarf Survivalist/Scout 5, mythic champion 2 -AC 19/15/14, F+3/R+9/W+1, Init +25/+5, Per +8 - HP 55/58

Perception

Joran waits patiently and surely enough the sources move closer. As they head in the general direction of the party, he sees to large humanoids. They look like giants dressed in clothes typical for this northern culture, their armours sparkling in the sun. They seem to be searching for something.

And no they are not vampires, because vampires don't sparkle.

Let me know what you do, and I would like a hide attempt from the rest of the group, remember you can aid another.

Stealth heh...?

Stealth: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (1) - 3 = -2

I guess Reknar is screaming and flailing his arms at the approaching creatures as he tries to "hide".

Back at the camp Elantier organizes a hideout for those remaining while waiting for Joran to return. A hastily dug out hole in the snow covered with the pelt provides excellent cover.

Joran manages to stay hidden from the two giants as they passes fairly close by him, he sees them searching the ground for something occasionally looking over the frozen tundra for something. You're pretty sure that they support the raining queen and thus would not be friendly towards you.

Male Dwarf Survivalist/Scout 5, mythic champion 2 -AC 19/15/14, F+3/R+9/W+1, Init +25/+5, Per +8 - HP 55/58

How giant are the giants? Are they large, huge? Ogre size, stone giant size? i.e. Can we take them on?

They are large size.

Half-Orc Bard 1 / Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +4 / AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16 (+4 armor, +2 Dex) hp 10/10 / Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4 / Inspire Courage left: 1/6

Male Dwarf Survivalist/Scout 5, mythic champion 2 -AC 19/15/14, F+3/R+9/W+1, Init +25/+5, Per +8 - HP 55/58

Joran attempts to remain stealthed until the giants are looking the opposite direction, then sneaks back to the others.

Stealth
1d20 + 13 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 13 + 5 = 32

After the two giants moves past Joran he get up from the ground and begins moving back. Even though he doesn't make a sound he soon realizes that he can't move past without being seen.

They are heading in the same general direction as you Joran, so you cannot stealth past them as you have no cover.

Zorariel manages to quiet Reknar down and everyone hides watching two great figures approaching you.

They are still far away.

Male Dwarf Survivalist/Scout 5, mythic champion 2 -AC 19/15/14, F+3/R+9/W+1, Init +25/+5, Per +8 - HP 55/58

Joran then will remain stealthed behind the giants.

1d20 + 13 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 13 + 5 = 29

HP 88 | AC 24 | PD 19 | MD 17 | Init:+8 | Recoveries 2/3 (5d8+4) Elf Ranger 5

Elantier growls lowly to himself. Giants and I don't along. he whispers to the others. I think we should attack when they get close enough, use the element of surprise.

Half-Orc Bard 1 / Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +4 / AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16 (+4 armor, +2 Dex) hp 10/10 / Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4 / Inspire Courage left: 1/6

As he murmurs to the others, the tension is clear in the muscles of the huge man - "These have long been a plague to my people's lands... I long for revenge..."

Male Dwarf Survivalist/Scout 5, mythic champion 2 -AC 19/15/14, F+3/R+9/W+1, Init +25/+5, Per +8 - HP 55/58

Joran stealthily stalks the giants until they are within 30 ft of the rest of the party, then he initiates combat with an aerial assault to the back of one of the giants.

F+2/R+5/W+5 35/35HP AC 15 Wizard (Foresight) 5/Archmage 2. MP 5/5 HP 35/35 Prescience 9/9

What point should I cast from? wonders Zorariel Perhaps a Fireball at range? Yes. No. Joran might be near them. Haste, I suppose. That might be best.
"Warn me before you attack." he breathes, whisper quiet.

The two large sized giants continues to wander in the direction of the group with Joran trailing behind them. As before they do not seem to have noticed the group and are tracking another target.

As predicted the two come close to the group hiding, then suddenly stops and sniff. Just as they stop Joran launches his attack. Dropping the pelt he takes of from the ground and slams like a cannonball into the back of one of the giants, weapons first. It howls out in pain and the confusion of combat begins.

In initiative order, no surprise actions.

Apparently the forum ate my earlier post, here is a new one.

The giants turn in rage to respond to Joran's surprise attack. The one you struck howls in rage but the sound is soon change as first Elantier's arrows plunges into it's back followed by Reknar's charge. The huge creature staggers from the attack into Joran's warhammer. After the hammer connects it sinks to the ground.

The remaining giant turns to Joran and lashes out with vicious clawed hands and theeth. The left hand connects tearing a piece of flesh from Joran's right arm.

Joran, 11 damage
