Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3
Chimon:
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
A pounding pressure shakes your dreamscape this time, much different from the previous two.
1d10 ⇒ 10
Rather than a gentle appearance, the shade appears in a flash of lightning and thunder, knocking your dream self to its feet. You feel remarkably out of breath all of a sudden, as if you'd run a mile to get here.
"This should end it." the creature intones.
"Rule of three, after all."
Chimon, you can make a Charisma check to take control of the dream at this point if you choose.
Talryn and Korak:
Chimon is wracked by a seizure, but no attempt to wake him is successful. After a few minutes, he stops and returns to a deep, if fitful sleep.
Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3
Chimon:
Yar, you only lose 1 for every 2 Damage. Drain actually changes the score though so it can hurt a bit worse.
I...actually thought you had a good Cha score (like a 16 or so). Though yours is still second best among the party I think. This may go poorly.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
The creature is taken aback by your determination this time around, and is unable to bring the full force of his will to bear.
Nevertheless, you fight to a standstill, the dreamscape quivering expectantly but not quite giving way before either of you.
The creature looks around for the first time.
"Interesting. Nobody else yet has thought to try and take control of their own dream. You're a fascinating fellow, aren't you?"
Another one? This time use Wis. I based it off Cha initially because the idea was both of you were using your strongest mental stat to influence the dream, and I thought your best was Cha.

Dream:
"I will accept the compliment, but I am sorry to say it will not endear you to me," Chimon says, pointing to his healing cheek. "Incidentally, you are the first to ever try and take control of my own dream."
Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3
Chimon:
He makes a moue of disappointment.
"Unfortunately I HAVE heard that one before."
Cha:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
He's so caught up in carrying n the conversation that he doesn't notice Chimon slowly shifting the landscape behind him. He puts up an impressive defense for such short notice, but doesn't quite manage to revert it.
All righty, you have control of the dream...for now. What do you do with it?

Chimon calls words he'll never remember on waking and conjures a cylinder of rapid wind around the shade. It gusts up through the floor, breaking a circular hole there and in the ceiling.

Ah, my bad! Just seen the post where we control the dream-personas... I was waiting for the dream to end, so I wasn't following the thread very closely. Move and punch, I guess.

Dream-Talryn charges the specter and tries to bash it to death with both hands on his shield.

Go nuts, though it'd use the same rules for falling objects. I'd say you can make an attack roll to drop it from 200 feet up and it counts as a dense object.

Talryn continues to batter the thing after focusing arcane power into his shield and taking a quick step up.

Sadly no, Jo. You're not actually here (the real Korak, Jo, and Talryn have no clue what's going on). You're merely manifestations of Chimon's will.
Chimon hits the shade with the anvil, if barely!
Reflex:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
It crushes the reature underneath its great weight, and the scene goes dark. Chimon is left standing alone in a comforting darkness, until the shade's voice rings out again.
"I see...my usual...tricks...will not work...on you..." it wheezes. THen it retreats from his mind to lick its wounds, and Chimon awakes.
Chimon (though anyone can read):
Chimon, the experience has left you...changed. Your mind is much more aware of the dream world, and such tricks will never take you unaware again.
You gain the Lucid Dreaming trait as a memento of your mental battles with the creature.

Chimon jerks awake, face bleeding afresh. "I bested it. Praise Abadar for that alchemist." He slides his legs over the edge of the tiny cot and sits up, looking up at his companions. "Thank you for staying with me. I do not know this creature's next avenue of attack, but I am sure, together, we can defeat it."

There are experts in all sorts of magic in the Arcaneum, but ones that specialize in those sorts of magic are both rare and reclusive, more interested in understanding the inner workings of their own mind as well as others than talking to people.

"It sounded, at least, like the creature was abandoning nightmares as its weapon. Perhaps now it will strike in the corporeal world," Chimon says. "I'll repair my face again tomorrow and see if sleeping is safe again. Before then, we should inform Vivian of our progress."
Going the rest of the night without sleep; ready for a time-skip if appropriate.

Chimon rubs his eyes blearily. "I do not know what to do about it. For the present, it seems I am safe from its powers, and it seems that it only picks one target at a time. We'll report to you if we turn up any more information."

You know about as much as anyoone knows about him, and probbly more. You don't know any personal details, or even what he actually looks look or his name, so there's nothing for anyone to go on.

Talryn stays with Chimon in case the assailant tries a more physical approach.
