When the hold portal spell wears off, the three of you are able to safely enter Narvak Kruel's room. This chamber is a comfortable living quarters with a double sized bed, a comfortable couch, a few tables, a bookcase, and two chests.
OK, give me a crack at these chests. I saw taht one of htem was trapped, so I need to make sure it's safe.
Chest 1-Perception (traps) 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23
Chest 2-Perception (traps) 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22
If trapped:
Chest 1-Disable Device: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23
Chest 2-Disable Device: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
If locked, attempt to unlock:
Chest 1-Disable Device: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20
Chest 2-Disable Device: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20

Bah! Dammit! Thordak exclaims, spitting in frustration. Here's for you, go to the House o' the Healin' Dawnflower an' gecherself patched up! He says, tossing the man who he chopped a gold coin from his belt pouch. He walks over to Tirion and pulls him by the arm, whispering to him out of the corner of his mouth.
Let's get outta here before someone notices us...none of these guys are Kruel, an' Oi doubt the ones who got away were either... he's clever, that one. Oi bet he's around though... jus' gotta find out where. In the meantime, let's go check with Jarmaath, right?

@Florence
"Ok, let's get back to the Raven together, kay?"
"As you wish, my dear. Just don't let that dark gnome cast any spells on me! That fella did not take our little prank too kindly. However, you must admit, it was rather fun!"
Walking back across the bridge and through Brindol Market you soon reach the Craven Raven where a few of Brindols guards have just arrived on the scene with the wounded Top Hatters.

"Patched up?!?! Is that all you can offer?! For the rest of my life, I am going to have nightmares about giant spiders, webs, and mad dwarves with axes, and all you can do is offer me a little coin and tell me to go get patched up! I'll take your coin, but you have not heard the last from me, you bushy bearded bully!"

You are welcome to leave the scene before Florence returns, however, if you chose to wait for her. A few Brindol Guards show up to investigate and approach you.
"I am Varlan Gembar of the Brindol Guard. Can somebody tell me what has happened here? I just got word that we have some crazed spellcaster engulfing people in webs and an insane dwarf going mad with some deadly axe. I can only assume they are talking about you two!"

Narvak's chests were locked and trapped, but with Bofus' skilled hands, you are free and clear to look within them.
One chest contains mostly articles of fine clothing and a necklace and some nonmagical rings. One of them is a signet ring with the Kruel family crest upon it.
The other chest contains a large number of coins, including 120 platinum, 2,345 gold pieces, and 4,724 silver pieces.

As thordak sees the guards coming he quickly turns his back and speaks with Tirion, putting his axe away as normally as possible. Uh oh... oh well, let's talk to 'em...
He turns back and approaches the Lions.Er...yeah, Master Garland Member...That would probably have been us two... But! Hear me out: We're on the trail of the head of the Blackscarzi, Narvak Kruel, workin' with the Brindol Lions themselves! If you want to ye can ask Sergeant Teyani Sura 'bout us!
Now wot happened here, is this Narvak fellow hired these fellas te dress up like him an' run away, probably te distract us an' get us in trouble with you all... Oi see it worked... But if we're goin' to catch him, we'll need yer help! Can you watch out fer anyone dressed like these fellas over here? he asks, indicating at the remaining Mad Hatters.

Mantooth Longbrow |

The other chest contains a large number of coins, including 120 platinum, 2,345 gold pieces, and 4,724 silver pieces.
Mantooth is impressed by the amount of treasure found in Kruel's hall. "This is quite a bit of money. Not surprising, though, that is is found in the bedroom of a thief. Perhaps we'll use some, or all, of it to pay Master Yab for the hospitality." When the goods are gathered Mantooth turns towards the door. "Are we ready to go join the others?"

Tirion Jörðhár |

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Yes, as Mr. Thordak explained. We followed Kruel out of the sewers where we were with Sergeant Sura. You can probably tell as I am sure we are both a bit fragrant. We followed him to close to the river and there met a nice lady who said someone had stolen a pair of overalls and a blue shirt. We also found Kruel's clothes near the river. Since this was but a few steps from this well known less than reputable establishment, we came to stake it out. As you can see, our guess was probably accurate since mysteriously a few minutes after arriving suddenly 6 men dressed in blue shirts and overalls came running out of the tavern. I cast my web spell in hopes of trapping them, but they continued running.
We guessed that one of them was guildmaster Kruel, and thus attacked each one. As soon as one identified himself as not Kruel, we immediately ceased attacking so that none of them are injured such that a little healing will not cure them. We hit and identified 4 of them as not Kruel, the other 2 got away. However, I am now inclined to think that Kruel is still in this tavern unless he escaped out a back door during the escape of the mad hatters.
I apologize for the scene that we have created. However, if these 6 mad hatters had not been aiding and abetting a known felon, none of them would have been injured. If you wish to take us in, I am sure that Sergeant Sura or Captain Ulverth will vouch for us as soon as we explain ourselves. However, now that you are here, I would propose that we watch all doors and search the tavern as I know that Kruel was in here as there is no other explanation for the escape of the hatters.

DM Harpwizard |

@Tirion, Thordak, and Florence
" Since this was but a few steps from this well known less than reputable establishment, we came to stake it out. "
One of the Top Hatters replies angrily, "I resent you saying such harsh things about the Raven! Just because the place is not as clean and upscale as the Fireside or the Wyvern does not make it a less than reputable establishment! Not all of us have the luxury of drinking at the posh places!" Turning to Gembar, he further exclaims, "My good guard, do not let this slick tongued gnome talk his way out of this one! My friends and I were simply walking out of the Craven Raven, and just because we were wearing top hats and overalls we were attacked by arcane magic from this gnome creature and my good friend here was nearly slain by that dwarf with the axe!"
The badly wounded Top Hatter chimes in, "That's right, Sir! That dwarf right there hit me with his axe and then tried to pay me off with a single gold piece!"
"I am sure that Sergeant Sura or Captain Ulverth will vouch for us as soon as we explain ourselves."
Gembar replies "Well I sure hope they can vouch for both you, because these are very serious accusations! This is not acceptable behavior in the city of Brindol! I think a trip to Captain Ulverth would be in order for this one, gentlemen. However, I will permit you the dignity of coming along unbound, for you do appear reasonable in your explanation. Please come with me, Master Gnome and Master Dwarf!"

Tirion Jörðhár |

Sir, I have no problem coming with you. However, once again, I want you to know that we believe that Navrak Kruel, the head of the local thieves guild, is currently within the Raven. Also, you will find that Captain Ulverth is currently with Lord Jarmaath and likely unavailable. If we could wait here, until Sergeant Suri arrives, this would be best for Brindol.
I whisper to the Guard: Oh, and could you please ask these gentlemen why they all suddenly decided to dress in blue overalls with top hats in the middle of the day. Last time I checked, this is not a big dress up day in Brindol, I believe that you will find their lack of an explanation lends credence to what I told you.

The other chest contains a large number of coins.
Coins added to our unsplit group funds
OK, if there's nothing else of value or importance here, perhaps it's time to head back.
Are we done here? Ready to head back to the Wyvern and regroup?

Tirion Jörðhár |

When the Guards are talking among themselves trying to figure out what to do, and upon seeing Florence, I look at the ground and mumble to myself and then:
Whisper: We are in a bit of a pickle here. Get the others, I assume that your hatter was not Kruel. I am sure that he is in there, or was in there. Also, get Sergeant Suri so that we can get this worked out. Thordak and I will either be here or heading to the Keep.
DC 25 to overhear the whisper.
The Message spell should have a 40 minute duration which I assume has not ended.

DM Harpwizard |

@Tirion and Thordak
Message is working just fine!
"Sir, I have no problem coming with you."
"Very well! then let's make it happen! I will send a guard into the Craven Raven to investigate, while you return to the barracks with me. Remember Jeebs, this is not a social call, We are looking for a rogue by the name of Narvak Kruel."
Gembar begins to escort you down the street as he watches you carefully. As you walk, he asks you.
"You sure seem to know much of the affairs of Captain Ulverth. How would you even know where he is?"

You bypass the others and enter the Raven Craven, where Scarlock gives you a grin as you enter.
"Have a seat, Ms. Danapieré. What can I get to drink?"
A moment later, the guard by the name of Jeebs also enters and conversation abruptly quiets down as people turn their heads away from him.

Tirion Jörðhár |

We really should stay and watch the Raven. Neither Thordak or I are going anywhere and I do not want Kruel to get away. Send a runner to get Sergeant Suri and I am sure we can work this out.
Upon hearing his question: Well, I am working with several of the Tournament Champions and we have had a number of discussions with the Captain. The last of which was barely an hour ago and he said he was going to be with Lord Jarmaath for a while, so I assume that he is still there.

DM Harpwizard |

@Florence
Sorry Florence, you ninjaed my post. That is not a problem.
As you suddenly take off, Splinter calls out, "Hey Danapieré, don't you want to stay for a drink or two?"
@Tirion and Thordak
"We really should stay and watch the Raven. Neither Thordak or I are going anywhere and I do not want Kruel to get away. "
"I'm not so sure about this! We really need to talk to Ulverth, but if you are going to be so obstinate, then let's go in and look around for a moment. However, if we don't see the crook, then we are leaving!"

Tirion Jörðhár |

Sir, I doubt he will be sitting in there. He just sent out six innocent people as decoys knowing that we would attack or seek to subdue them. He is the master of the local thieves guild skilled at subterfuge and deceit. We can go in there, but I do not think we will find him. My guess is that he has already escaped or is hiding somewhere in the building, perhaps in a wine cellar or a secret passage of some sort.
However, I will go back in and see whether he is there. I will note that I did go in and ask about him a few minutes before the mad hatters ran out and at that time neither he nor the mad hatters were in the Raven. So clearly there is some back room or hiding place.

DM Harpwizard |

@Tirion and Thordak
"We can go in there, but I do not think we will find him."
"You are really trying my patience. First you disrupt the peace in this town, then you attack and nearly kill several of these people based on what they are wearing. Listen up folks! You may not realize this, but you are not members of the Brindol Guard, and you are not in the position of authority to simply carry on secret surveillances of the premises. We have laws in this city and they are designed to keep peace and order. It sounds like you don't want to obey these laws and are simply doing whatever the hell you want. Now, I ask you politely once again. Are you willing to come with me in a dignified manner, or do we need to pull out the manacles?"

Riding the great steed, Phantom, through the familiar streets of Brindol, you find yourself on the steps of the Stone Wyvern in just a few minutes. When you arrive, Roland the barkeep is outside fixing one of the shutters with hammer and nail. He calls over to you. "Good afternoon, Flo, That's an impressive horse you are riding. Do you need me to stall that beast for you?"

Tirion Jörðhár |

I never said that we would not come peacefully, just, please be aware that chief criminal number one is likely in the Raven right now and if he is allowed to escape, then I doubt that your superiors would be happy. But the choice is yours, we will come peacefully if you feel it is more important to have us explain ourselves to Sergeant Suri and Captain Ulverth than to make sure that Kruel does not escape. -- The choice is yours.

DM Harpwizard |

@Tirion and Thordak
"I never said that we would not come peacefully, just, please be aware that chief criminal number one is likely in the Raven right now and if he is allowed to escape, then I doubt that your superiors would be happy. "
"Ok, let me get this straight. You are telling me that the chief number one criminal, Narvak Kruel, is sitting inside the Raven having a drink, but if we go inside, we will not find him. Let's just ignore the fact that you have just assaulted these people and nearly brought them to death's door. Now, since we are not going to find him inside, we should just stay outside and wait for him to show up."
"What in the hell do you think a mastermind criminal like Narvak Kruel is going to do. . . . walk out here and wave to you all? I am starting to see why you are not on the Brindol Guard. You just don't understand the mind of a master thief. Listen gnome, even if what you are saying is true, which is highly suspect, Kruel is not going to leave this place with you watching. Besides, he is a master of stealth and deception. Lars Ulverth, who is still a damn good captain, has been trying to catch the guy for years. What makes you think that you can just walk right in here and capture him with a little spider web? If you ask me, you have been hoodwinked and he is already long gone. Now, let's just leave the Raven and these good people, and hope that they do not press charges. Let's leave this work to Jeebs and the other professionals, and we can take a nice stroll back to the station and we can write down your statement. If Narvak escapes, I will take full responsibility! Let's go!"

@Thordak and Tirion
Please note that Varlan Gembar is simpy a member of the guard. He does not have the distinction of being a lion which is the elite branch of Brindol Guard.
Varlan Gembar politely escorts you up the hill and into the guard barracks located across the street from Brindol Keep. He leads you into a room with a table and chairs and politely says, "Please have a seat while I try and locate the Captain or the Sergeant. I will be back in just a moment."
Five minutes pass and suddenly, Magistrate Jared Kaal enters with Gembar at his heels. Jared walks over and looks down at you. As he notices Glimdraath, he explodes in a fury.
"Gembar! What kind of a fool are you?! They are still armed! Take their weapons this instant! You do not let prisoners walk in here wielding weapons freely!"
Varlan Gembar tries to reply, "But they are . . . "
"SILENCE!" Kaal utters with finality.
Gembar reaches over to take your weapons from you.
Do you comply or resist?

Thordak son of Throtgar |

Now Jared, don't gech'yer smallclothes all in a jumble! Thordak says, chuckling as he lays Glimdraath on the table, followed by his crossbow. He keeps his mouth shut and his beard over his hidden dagger.

DM Harpwizard |

@Thordak and Tirion
"Now Jared, don't gech'yer smallclothes all in a jumble!"
"The name is Magistrate Kaal, to you, Dwarf!" Pointing to the weapons on the table, Jared shouts at Gembar, "Pick up that axe and that crossbow and put them on the weapons rack in my office!"
Turning to Tirion, he utters, "Now, gnome, put your weapons on the table and let's begin the interrogation!"

Thordak son of Throtgar |

Well if we're going to be formal, you can call me Thordak, Son of Throtgar, Mister Magistrate! Thordak says, thumbing at his chest importantly. Oh, Gumbler, Oi forgot these! he says, reaching into his pack and pulling out a longsword and another war axe and laying them on the table.
So, Mister Magistrate, have a seat. Let's begin. How did you come to be Magistrate, exactly? he asks, folding his gauntleted hands on the table between them.

Tirion Jörðhár |

I had him my dagger and crossbow.
Good afternoon Magistrate. Did I hear that name correctly, Magistrate Kaal? You wouldn't by any chance be related to Lady Verasa Kaal would you? She accused me of stealing from her earlier today, and if you are related, I am afraid that I am going to have to ask that someone other than yourself undertake this interrogation so that it is not viewed as being biased. I would hate for you to get a whole bunch of admissions out of us, only to find that they could not be used in any future legal proceedings.
Perhaps you should send for Lord Jarmaath, Captain Ulverth or Sergeant Suri to make sure that things are all on the clean and proper here in lawful Brindol.
As I say this, I am looking back and forth between Kaal and the guard. Once finished, I sit back and politely wait for Kaal to either comply or explode.

"Get these weapons out of here!"
Varlan Gembar picks up the weapons hastily and retreats back out into the hallway with them.
As Thordak and Tirion sit calmly in their chairs, Jared Kaal glares at them with an evil look in his eyes.
"So, Mister Magistrate, have a seat. Let's begin. How did you come to be Magistrate, exactly?"
"Silence, Dwarf! I ask the questions here and you give me the answers!"
"You wouldn't by any chance be related to Lady Verasa Kaal would you? . . . Perhaps you should send for Lord Jarmaath, Captain Ulverth or Sergeant Suri to make sure that things are all on the clean and proper here in lawful Brindol."
Indeed Jared becomes filled with rage and throws the table over as he shouts, "I am the magistrate and I am the law!". Suddenly, Kaal's voice becomes menacingly evil and quiet as he tries to intimidate you in a near whisper of a voice. "It does not matter how or why, but you need to know that I am magistrate! Lord Jarmaath is sick now and will likely die very soon! In the meantime, I am in the position to make the decisions here in Brindol. Thus, you need to know that Ulverth and Sura will answer to me! I am in the position of power and you are now in my domain. Is this completely understood?!"
Jared does not wait for an answer but tries calm himself by pacing the room. At last he asks a few questions.
"What were you two doing outside of the Raven Craven this afternoon? Is it true that the dwarf attempted murder on innocent bystanders after the gnome bound them helplessly in a deadly web of sticky filth?! This sounds like a cowardly act and the most believable given what I know of both of you!"

I don't have anything special to do before we get back to the Wyvern to regroup.

Thordak son of Throtgar |

Thordak reaches into his pack and removes a piece of charcoal and a leaf of parchment.
Oi told you, you may refer to me as Thordak, son of Throtgar. If you'd rather stay familiar, ye can call me Thordak an' Oi'll call you...whelp. Alright? Okay. Thordak proceeds without waiting for him to respond.
Now whelp, it seems to me that you would gain quite a lot from Lord Jarmaath's passing. On top o' that, it sounds like you're pretty excited to have Jarmaath out of the picture so you can assume power. he says, eying Jared Kaal's movements before scribbling something on the parchment.
Oi'm writin' you in as a suspect for the poisonin' of Lord Jarmaath...how do you explain yerself here, whelp? Thordak asks calmly, watching Jared from his seat.

Tirion Jörðhár |

Yes, good question Thordak. Now that we have successfully cured Lord Jarmaath, how do you explain yourself Kaal. I am sure that you will be disheartened to hear that he did not die. Oh, and while we are at it, you will be happy to hear that we also relieved the town of several threats, namely several hobgoblins invaders, some wannabe Baron for a nearby town, and a large forest drake. So, who put you up to this? Your mother? Baron Trask? Or do you work for the Red Hand directly? These are all very important questions that Magistrate Strickland will want to know about once he is reinstated within the next day or two.

"HOW DARE YOU TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!!!! One more utter of that single word and I will see that your dwarven beard is cut off before you hang! Guards, in here this instant!"
Thordak has just made Jared Kaal furious! The devious look is clearly gone and it is replaced with pure hatred!
"Now that we have successfully cured Lord Jarmaath, how do you explain yourself Kaal. I am sure that you will be disheartened to hear that he did not die."
At this news, Jared Kaal quickly turns his head and glares at Tirion with a slightly heightened crazed look.
Tirion, you are not clear if your intimidation has any effect or if he is simply filled with pure anger and hatred. Either way, he is obviously being pushed toward doing something drastic!
"What is this you say?! You have cured Jarmaath?! That is impossible! How?!! Speak up, gnome, or it will be the rack for you!"

If there is more that you planned on doing in Narvak's Den, please feel free to post it, but it appears that you are finished.
You finish thoroughly searching Narvak's lair after having found a great deal of coins and gems. Among the books, you find a variety of maps including a Map of Elsir Vale (The map posted at the top of each page.) You leave through the stairs and emerge out on the streets of Brindol once again. It is late afternoon and evening is approaching quickly.

Very interesting, you are getting this all down right Thordak. Because is quite strange that Mr. Kaal here even knew that Lord Jarmaath was ill since nobody but his closest advisors have been made aware of this.
The question is Kaal, how did you get the poison into his drink, that must have been very difficult. Did you pay off his manservant? Or did you do it personally?

"As magistrate, I am one of his closest advisors. In fact, I am now the law in this city."
Nearly eight armed guards enter the room with swords drawn. Kaal immediately commands them.
"These two have been charged with attempted murder, and I have found them both guilty! Take them away! Put them in the lowest dungeon level. They are to be executed in the morning!"
Immediately, the guards lock your hands in manacles and lead you out of the room at sword point.
Any more insulting remarks before you are taken away?

Trabalard Yab scurries off to the kitchen with a bounce in his step.

Ah, Florence my dear!! Come, join us! Where are T&T?
I gather Florence will tell us most/all of the story?
Upon hearing that Navrak changed clothes and continued the chase . . .
Yeah, that sounds about right. And you kept following him? *sigh* I wish you'd have listened to me, there's no way you're going to find him now!
Upon hearing that Tirion didn't make much progress at the Raven . . .
Well, I guess it was reasonable to ask, but Navrak was an institution here, so i"M not at all surprised the Raven bartender wasn't feeling very cooperative.
Upon hearing about the half-dozen hatters running out of the Raven . . .
HA!! Now THAT sounds about right. And he was probably already gone, under influence of an Invisibility spell, so you gave up, right? No?!?! . . .
Upon hearing about the violence that ensued, I'm clearly shocked and appaled.
*blink* *blink* are you KIDDING ME?!?! They attacked the decoys?!?! With axes and magic missiles?? They used lethal force on those folks?? I'm groping for words here, opening and closing my mouth, shaking my head. I'm absolutely beside myself.
*deep breath* OK, OK, so the guard came and escorted them back to the barracks. That's bad. Because Jared Kaal is the current magistrate, and he knows that Thordak, at least, is close with Matthias--and he's got a bit of a beef with our friend here for trouncing him in the Steeplechase.
.
And you don't have any idea what their state is, because you came here . . . OK. The bad news is, I think there's only one higher authority than the magistrate. DMHW, is that true? Knowledge (local) 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 The good news is, we just saved that higher authority's life last night. Let's run over to Jarmaath's palace and see if we can get a word in with him, to see if he will intervene on our friends' behalf, shall well? Unless anyone else has any better ideas . . .?

Matthais Teskerwill |

Hearing the description of what happened.
We should have bound Kruel when we had a chance. I told you all that he was a boil on society, but you let him stay unbound. Well, lets head off to the barracks and see what happened and get our friends out of Mr. Worthless Kaal's grasps.
Shaking my head and sighing.
Yeh, it is probably best to talk to Lord Jarmaath. Also, should we get Strickland? If he is returned to his position as Magistrate, then that will really ruffle Kaal's feathers.
I get up and begin heading for the door.

DM Harpwizard |

@Bofus
You are correct. Besides the Lord, the magistrate is the highest appointed authority when it comes to the day to day running of Brindol. However there is also a ruling council that has a strong say in various governing matters. However, you also know that Verasa Kaal is on that ruling council.
@Florence
Master Yab returns in a few minutes with a small plate of three chocolate squares and he places them in front of you. He smiles graciously as he returns to the kitchen.

@Tirion and Thordak
Tirion wrote:"Very interesting, you are getting this all down right Thordak. Because is quite strange that Mr. Kaal here even knew that Lord Jarmaath was ill since nobody but his closest advisors have been made aware of this.""As magistrate, I am one of his closest advisors.
Mmmh, yes, of course, it's all written here on moi parchment! Thordak says. As the guards come in, he stands and waves to them. Hello boys! Oi'd like you all to bear witness that we have not been given any sort of trial at all! Careful with those blades, now, you might get thrown in a dungeon an' murdered tomorrow!
He removes his gauntlets and straps them to his belt, submitting his hands for manacling. Looking over his shoulder, he grins at Jared. Now whelp, no need to get all huffy! Yer face is redder 'n a monkey's arse! Just run back to yer mammi an' we'll send a man tomorrow te bring ye in fer attempted murder!

We should have bound Kruel when we had a chance. I told you all that he was a boil on society, but you let him stay unbound.
You're STILL on about him?? You're blaming HIM for our friends' cutting townsfolk down? They should have given up when it was obvious he'd eaten their lunch!! It's true that he *really* shouldn't have stabbed you, and that's going to be very difficult for me to get over. But given the situation he was forced into, I can't believe you're not a little more understanding.
.You want the truth?? *I* still think we'd have been better off letting him go altogether! It was TRASK who was the real bad guy. You don't have any real reason to say Kruel was a blight on the city, it was the Baron who was the blight. Or do you? Why *do* you have such a hang-up about Navrak Kruel?
(I'm obviously curious and am clearly hoping for an answer)
Yeh, it is probably best to talk to Lord Jarmaath. Also, should we get Strickland? If he is returned to his position as Magistrate, then that will really ruffle Kaal's feathers.
I was thinking that same thing--we can alert Strictland on the way!
(is Strictland's house anything like "on the way," DMHW? I can't see the map from work!)
Tirion Jörðhár |

Yep, and let your mother know that she will also be liable for aiding and abetting a murderer. I am sure that she would not enjoy the public scrutiny that will go with that.
Turning to the guards as I offer my hands for the manacles: Oh, guards, I realize that you are all just following orders from the Magistrate, but please be aware that our friends have substantial evidence of a murder conspiracy and your Magistrate has just admitted having knowledge of a murder attempt on Lord Jarmaath. While I understand that Kaal is theoretically the second most powerful judicial figure in town, I believe that this matter involving accusations of murder by one of the Tournament Champions is something that should at least be brought to the Lord's attention so that all the rules and regulations of Brindol are complied with. After all, if the Magistrate and guards do not comply with the laws, then nobody else will be inclined to do so either.
Strickland's home should be almost on top of the guild. Remember, we investigated him trying to see if he knew about Trask being down there.

I'll take one of the chocolate squares into my mouth and let it melt on my tongue
Mhhhmhmmmm...Narvak should hang....mhhmhhhmmm wow, this is soooo tasty.
If Bofus shows any sign of surprise
He stabbed Matthais, clearly intending to kill him...I don't feel mercy for someone who does that to my friends and you shouldn't either.
Then I'll wrap the two other chocolate squares into a handkerchief and store them in my pack.

Mantooth Longbrow |

"Gentlemen," Mantooth begins, standing by Bofus and Matthias, "What is done is done. Kruel has gotten away. It was foolish of me to try to reason with him and in the end perhaps we should have bound him." Addressing Bofus specifically, Mantooth continues "I know that being a fellow thief you respect the man, but do understand that he is the one that stole the cyclamen from Jarmaath's garden. He cooperated with Trask. Would you have really done the same?"
"Either way, Florence is right. He stabbed Matthias. He is clearly not our friend any longer, if he once was. What I am most concerned with right now is making sure Jarmaath is well and that Tirion and Thordak aren't under Kaal's boot."
