YES! I can feel the power of the Gestalt running through my veins! I am unstoppable!

Lady Zarrisa Ollron |

I'm really sorry guys, I am going to have to drop, just have to much on my plate/

Vamik Sheeves |

Oh, meetings are my favorite! Especially really long ones in which I have only a short presentation to make but otherwise don't affect me, yet I'm required to stay the whole time. So good.

Vamik Sheeves |

So moving the chill touch discussion over here. It is a weird spell. If Goggh is right, then I could use it to touch up to CL creatures the round it's cast as free actions, or I could hold the charge and get one discharge out of it.
I'm OK with whatever you think is reasonable, Cave.

CaveToad |

Oh, you each got 800 XP for beating the undead creature (sword wight). This will level you to 3rd level. After investigating this small area, you can rest and level up here safely (probably muahaha!).
I am also trying to devise a way to deal with your 3 person group situation. While quite effective as a trio, it may be more fun to have more people to interact with.
Group 4 is close geographically, and timelinewise (ish). Group 6 is also close, although ahead somewhat in time. I disbanded table 3 and merged them with other groups, but group has lost another player, at least temporarily, so I may merge the groups a bit, at least for the short term and for some storyline pieces that make sense. Putting you with group 4 would make it a 7 person group, which is perhaps somewhat unwieldy, but the group doesn't post heavily, so I will see what comes of it.
It would create a group with two ogres in it, which sort of doubles up on an overlapping character theme. (unarmed grappler etc - although not exactly the same)
Opinions?

Goggh |

I love our little band here. If I may put a suggestion - couldn't I (or whoever is interested) create another character to complete another table, and have someone do something similar to complete ours (preferably a healer... Lol)? I love the theme of this game and the whole monster thing. This would be great! Of course, in a restricted manner... Maybe only the most active people...

Vamik Sheeves |

The inevitable whittling down of the group...As far as overlapping fighting styles, that usually opens up possibilities that having a rounded party does not. But having healers is nice.
I'm having fun with our band of three as well. We seem to make a pretty good theme. All of us are pretty solid melee fighters. And all of us have battle-enhancing magic.
More interactions could be alright, but there's enough backstory to work out with the three of us still to satisfy me for now.

Quercus Robar |

Our band of 3 does work great currently. I fear at higher levels we may not have the coverage of skills or spells we may desire.
Will work on leveling up. Shall we rest inside or go outside?

Vamik Sheeves |

We should probably keep a watch up on the tower. We could communicate with "message".

CaveToad |

If you rest and reflect either above in the tower or below in the lab, or even taking some time to gather wood or things for making baskets or containers. You will only need a few hours to level up, and then perhaps some more time to refresh spells and dailies, as you plot a way to pack and move the valuable and fragile lab equipment.
Let me know when you have your level ups complete, and feel free to brainstorm or come up with ideas for the lab.
I am also still pondering what to do about replacement characters, I have not come to any decision yet about recruitment or allowing players to role a second character for another table.

Goggh |

Hey Cave, Goggh is updated now. The most noticeable update to him is the "Final Embrace" feat - very scary stuff.
I imagine we will pull some of the trees (trunks, leaves, branches) to build crude containers. Goggh will probably also spend some time praying to Irori and meditating.
About the table compositions, take your time, man ;) no hurry.

Vamik Sheeves |

Waiting on me? Sorry, I forgot to post that I'm updated.
Two extra arms now. 2d6 sneak attack. A couple selfish second level spells. I'm all set.

Goggh |

I just found this paragraph on the magus ogc page:
If I cast a spell that allows multiple touch attacks, can I deliver all of those spell touches through my weapon?
Yes. For example, if you cast chill touch (which allows multiple touch attacks), you could use spellstrike to cast and deliver the spell through your weapon, and in later weapon attacks you could use your weapon to deliver the remaining spell touch attacks (one spell touch attack per weapon attack).
If you have multiple attacks per round with that weapon (such as from having a BAB of +6 or higher), you can use the weapon to deliver multiple spell touch attacks per round, so long as you have uses of that spell touch attack remaining.
For example, if you are an 8th-level magus (BAB +6/+1) and you cast chill touch, you have up to 8 uses of that spell touch attack. If you make two weapon attacks in a round, you can deliver two spell touch attacks per round (one for each successful weapon attack).
Observe the example with chill touch! I stand corrected. It seems it works differently than I interpreted!

Vamik Sheeves |

That's how I thought it worked, but as I dug in more, it seems the interpretation is open to some debate. I'll tell you now that I fully intended to exploit the idea of many touches.
I wanted to tack on an additional d6 of damage per natural attack as well as meta-magic dazing spell. It was going to be awesome: A will save for each natural attack that hits, then possibly be dazed. So if you don't want that kind of thing happening, it may be wise to interpret differently.

Blaire Dreamcaller |

All caught up. Not sure when I'm joining in but I'm all ready.
As for my character. Blaire is no good with weapons and because her training with Goodwin focused entirely on controlling her magic instead of being overwhelmed by it she will 99% of the time use magic. Mostly the battlefield control and debuffing sort. She will be able to wild shape next level and do flying scouts so where Snow left she can add that back to the group too.

Blaire Dreamcaller |

Here is the gear she would have requested.
Compass 10gp
Explorer's Outfit 10gp
Small Tent 10gp
Masterwork Backpack 50gp
Druid's Kit - backpack 12gp
Cooking Kit 3gp
Cold Iron Dagger 4gp
Waterproof Bag .5gp

Vamik Sheeves |

Yesss, Magic, and more magic

Vamik Sheeves |

So let me lay out my proposed shenanigans:
Eventually, I will go down the dimensional agility tree and be able to use Dimension door to teleport around attacking up to 5 enemies per round. If dazing chill touch is up, that's potentially stunning every single creature who fails their will save on top of regular damage. Not necessarily more powerful than dazing fireball though.
Now that I think about it, it seems more awesome in my head than it probably actually is. It does take a round or two of setup, and sometimes it's just better to kill the things fast.
Also, Welcome Blaire!

Goggh |

Goggh is a hugger and that's his biggest and only focus at the moment. I'll eventually get spells and be able to buff and crowd control somehow, but my little ogre's thing is to shut down big baddies. In the future I might become able to grapple anything (incorporeal, freedom of movement, no matter). Right now my damage is insanely big but I'll eventually fall behind, and become more defensive.

CaveToad |

Here is the gear she would have requested.
Compass 10gp
Explorer's Outfit 10gp
Small Tent 10gp
Masterwork Backpack 50gp
Druid's Kit - backpack 12gp

No masterwork backpack and no cold iron weapons, but the rest is obtainable.

CaveToad |

Working on getting another character approved and joined while you plot your mission against the giant and friends. It woul dbe far easier to have both new characters join at the same time, so hopefully I can get the final character to make revisions soon and get on board.
It might be even easier to have the new characters be part of what is going to happen soon in any event.

CaveToad |

@Blaire, you can probably get a few scrolls, as other characters have had some success in Cliffort obtaining some. Potions no.
@Everyone: Qahnaarin will be joining the table once I complete the review of his character. He was a player at the closed table 3, who had to take a break due to RL stuff, but is back now and will resume playing his slightly tweaked character. While your group is already strong melee-wise, he will add some additional battlefield powers. There will be some overlap in the paladin/monk theme, but given gestalt, those seem popular choices for many anyhow, and there are a lot of ways to play them both.
I have invited him to check in to the discussion just to talk over strats and the like, and hopefully we can get his character prepped and ready and I can move you guys ahead in the storyline. Sorry for the slight delays, but I think overall it will be more fun with a full table now.

Blaire Dreamcaller |

Ok this is my new list.
Compass 10gp
Explorer's Outfit 10gp
Small Tent 10gp
Druid's Kit 14gp
Cooking Kit 3gp
Dagger 2gp
Waterproof Bag .5gp
Scroll of Comprehend Languages 25gp
Scroll of Expeditious Retreat 25gp
99.5gp
That makes it easy to roleplay my cheese dip in monk next level then. I will use the others to learn things from.

Qahnaarin |

Hey everyone! Glad to be gaming with you. Please feel free to point out if I goofed anything in getting this character ready. I look forward to starting. :)
