I don't know if the staying group already asked about this kind of trade. Thought it couldn't hurt since they are already friendly. It also would speed the production of a strong fort to have the goatling provide food and furs and wood and tools.
Although I did kind of volunteer them for side quests lol

I'm reading through Occult Adventures right now, and wishing that it had been available when we were creating characters.
Sooooooo much good stuff.
It is/was sort of. One player asked about it so I added it to the material, but it was in beta so had the caveat that any changes would require adjustments. It was sort of under the radar though.

Aw, really? I had no idea. I guess I can keep it in mind for future levels to take. Or if Qahnaarin kicks the bucket.
Yeah, just grab stuff when you go Twin Mind.

The 'party meals remaining' notation confuses me a little. Why is it a -4? Gunther and I bagged a nice turkey:
"Eventually Champawat spots a good sized turkey roosting in a tree. Gunther draws an arrow and shoots it from the tree without even waking it. The turkey will feed a half dozen people or more once defeathered and gutted."
I guess we should have stated we were going to defeather and gut it, but it seems we overlooked it. If we haven't technically done that yet, Champawat will begin doing that asap. Also, with the 3 days of rations given out, shouldn't that be added somewhere?
"oat cakes/leaves/goat cheese - 3 days worth of food per person"
Also, between the supplies provided by the Goatlings, can I assemble an Alchemy Crafting Kit?
"ceramic ware - pottery, flasks, vials, mugs, bowls - a small set per person
minor tools, scrapers, needles, awls, punches, leather working - 1 set per group to work leather"
I was behind on calculations. It should be updated accurately now. It also reflects the added food from the goatlings.
Yes you can make an alchemy kit.
Just an fyi, I am travelling and have event and a wedding today so I may not update posts until Monday.

Just a note: I'm starting student teaching tomorrow, but all it means is that I will have to post during the weekends/evenings.

I just had surgery. Nothing life threatening, but I'm going to be in a lot of pain and on a lot of drugs the next week. Please DMPC as necessary.
Ok Goivan. Hope you get well quickly.

So I was thinking about trying to craft some alchemical items when I realized I don't have any money to spend to buy ingredients. Would you consider allowing me to make survival checks to find ingredients? Similar to finding food, but maybe using the craft DC as the survival check DC? Or maybe the full gp cost as the DC? Kinda like Skyrim or Dragon Age: Inquisition...
You can search around the wilds for some basic ingredients. Clearly lots of flora and fauna are available, although many chemical reagents take some effort to extract from their natural form, either distilling or concentrating, or various chemical processes. What items were you interested in making?

Alchemist's Fire to begin with.
You can probably get things like pine resin easily, but you would also want niter, sulphur, bitumen, quicklime or other chemicals that could be found in nature, but extremely unlikely in the area you are in.
I could set a DC but it would be so super high you would want to punch me.
Perhaps the mining camps that are supposed to be in the region would contain some of those compounds. Now that they are evacuated, you wonder if an investigation would turn up any useful materials.

Hey guys.
I was involved in a motor vehicle collision this morning. My car was rear-ended and then pushed into the rear of the car ahead of me at about 40 mph. The local hospital says I have whiplash, a lumbar sprain, and a concussion. It took me about 5 minutes to write this. I will post tomorrow after a good night's sleep. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks.

Holy crap, I hope you make a full recovery. Don't worry about the game at all, you take it easy.
Yikes, hope you recover quickly. These sort of things throw life into a mess.
Just an FYI, I have put out the expanded framework and ruleset for customizing your Signature Items. It is in the campaign tab of the main thread. Feedback appreciated, especially where I may have missed something exploitable.

I'm back. I'm moving around like my grandpa, but I'm back. I will catch up and post momentarily.

Welcome back Qahnaarin.
I was reviewing the ruleset for the signature items. I selected weapon focus at 2nd level, but I'm assuming I should change that and select it at 3rd level. Is that accurate?

Yes, you get it for free at 3rd, so unless you took it early because of some build reason you might as well wait.

Yay, Gunther's back. Welcome back.
Added some food to the tally as the marshals gave you a week's worth, and will subtract up through day 6.

I can watch last so that I can prep spells and pray in that last hour before everyone wakes up.
FYI I will be out of town traveling this weekend and posting will be more sporadic/limited.
Ruined Keep map added to the thread header as well.

I plan on using evil eye this coming round. For our group what helps you guys the most, lowering AC, attack rolls, or saves?

The posting for this game is slowing down quite a bit. It shouldn't take us nearly a week for a round of combat. Can we pick up the pace, ladies and gentlemen? I'm excited for this game and do not want it to stagnate.
Thanks! :)
Hello everybody. Sorry to barge in on your discussion thread, but I am a friend of Goivan and am here posting on his behalf. He will be unable to post at all until Friday. Rest assure that everything is fine and his posting will be completely back to normal on Friday. Please DMPC him as necessary. Thank you.

Holy cow. Is Goivan seriously in 17 different games!?
I am considering reorganizing this table when it makes sense.
Male Lesser Gargoyle Paladin/Bloodrager/Rogue l HP 51/52 [60/61] l AC 22 [20], T 14 [12], FF 17 [15] l F +13 [16], R +11, W +7 [9] l Init +4 l Perc +6

How so CaveToad?
Gunther and Prar are pretty low activity. I hate splitting up tables, but it might work better to eventually merge you with other more active tables. I have been running some tables at 4 people just fine. But down to 3 makes it hard.

I am not opposed to the idea. It would be interesting to play with some others.
Also, I applaud you for handling so many parties in one world. It seems a monumental job.
It's fun although like most people, real life sometimes gets in the way. Most weekdays I can post reasonably, weekends lately are really hard, although I hope it gets better as the winter rolls in.

Just coming off a major depression bout. Sorry for the absence. If this is still going, I'll get rolling again.
Sorry to hear about that. It is still going of course.

Alright, I hate to do this, but it's pretty clear to me that I just can't keep up in my PbP games and take care of all the stuff life is throwing at me right now. I thought things would get better once student teaching was over, but between looking for a new job, a new car, and a new place to live I just don't have the time to spend on these games anymore. :(
I really feel bad about leaving you guys in the lurch, but I haven't been able to give you guys enough of my time and attention for quite awhile now.
Understood. Life has a way of burying you with things like that. Its been hectic for me too. If you can come back some day we can bring you back into the fold somewhere/somehow.

Sorry to hear that. Real life sometimes gets in the way of the truly important things. ;)
Good luck.
I added a regional map (finally) to the campaign tab. This shows the progress of the groups and is a nicer version of the map that Head Marshal Hawke has given the groups, although the one you have it still quite detailed. Feel free to ask any questions.

The total after selling loot is 8548.5 gold pieces, or 2137 gold pieces, 12 silver pieces, and 5 copper pieces each.

Should we try to see about a Wand of Cure Light or Cure Moderate?
