"as uneasy as it makes me, i believe you have yerself a deal. what is this bauble and where do you suppos it is?"
sense motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Biggs hesitates to take he hand before he can get a sense what she is playing at.
MiniGM
Biggs is 100% sure she is on the up and up.
Wonderful! So let me give you your info.
1. There is no Belgrin. He does not exist. All of it is a front for Clegg Zilcher, he has a dwarven recipe for ale. He created the story so he could drive up prices. Clegg had a hit squad go after those Marshall's nasty business that, the leader was taken away in chains, and I suspect he is less than happy currently. As to where to find him? Where Clegg is, that is where you want to be, but before you deal with that I think you need to get yourselves back to the Goblin, there is some bad business going on.
She stretches her arms and legs. When you do go after Clegg, and you will eventually, come talk to me and I will tell you where to find the bauble. Just a small stone that has been in my family for generations that was stolen by Clegg's men. If I go after it myself there will be a massive guild war and my city does not need that.
Biggs Longshaft
"I knew there was something amiss about this Belgrin business... that bastard! Clegg will pay! Thank you kindly my friend, we shall come see you soon I suspect. Come, Nez, to the Goblin! I fear the worst!"
Biggs will shake the halfling's hand and then hurry back to the goblin, warhammer at the ready.

upon arrival at the gob;in saul rushes to the heroes, he quickly tells them that
Larur Feldin has apparently gone missing. The last Saul
knew, Feldin was going to stop by the office of a local
moneylender to pay off a chunk of debt that Saul owed.
When Larur didn’t show up for work this morning, Saul
sent a runner to Larur’s apartment only to discover that
his one-bedroom flat was empty—the front door hanging
open and its contents burgled, with no sign of Larur at all.
Saul fears that Larur might have met with some sort of
trouble, and suspects that trouble might have something
to do with Lymas Smeed, the moneylender Larur was
going to visit.
Vancaskerkin reluctantly admits that one of the ways he
was able to finance the Gold Goblin’s refurbishment was
by taking out a loan from Lymas Smeed, using the Gold
Goblin itself as collateral. The loan itself, Saul sheepishly
explains, was for 2,000 gp, and he’s barely been able to
pay back any of it. Larur was to pay 500 gp of the loan
yesterday evening, the largest payment yet—something
Saul’s only been able to afford with the PCs’ help. He
further muses that rumors hold that Smeed works for
Clegg Zincher, and wouldn’t put it past the man to ask
Smeed to do something to Feldin as a warning to Saul.
Biggs Longshaft
"Clegg!!!!!!!!! That bastard has been causing us nothing but grief. I have strong reason to believe he was behind this whole Belgrin business! In fact, I am to believe Belgrin himself is Clegg! I should have seen it coming... and now he has my dear friend Larur! This shall not stand! Nez, prepare for battle, we are going to rescue Larur and settle the score with Clegg... Saul, do you have any good fighting men to spare? I fear we must be well prepared for this..."

you make your way to Limas Smeed the money lenders
Lymas Smeed occupies a townhouse crammed in among the
tenements on Rat Street in a rundown section of Riddleport.
There are two entrances to Lymas’s home and place of
business: the front door from Rat Street opens into the
reception room (area A1), while the back door opens into the
kennel (area A3). A sign out front of Lymas’s front door shows
a stack of gold coins above a name: “Rat Street Loans—by
appointment only.” He keeps both entrances to his home
locked ).
Near the back door is a pile of barrels and old crates
containing refuse and garbage.
Currently I have you situated at the font enrance. You can knock, check the back, or search the area around the moneylenders
Biggs Longshaft
Don't we have a guard with us?
"Well, Nez... do we try knocking this time? I myself have no desire to put on our kid gloves, this Lymas Smeed is connected to Clegg, and has kidnapped Larur! I say we give him what's a'coming to him! The question is, shall we bust in the door, or try and set up an ambush for the bastard?"
MiniGM
yea he is scouting around the back

Andhe comes charging back around, looking upset. He holds ups a green bloodstained cloak, you both immediately recognize it as Larur's
This was on top of the trash out back, it was hidden, but things had fallen over and it was revealed. He reaches for his sword, putting away his sap.
Biggs Longshaft
Biggs' face grows heavy with emotion. He looks knowingly at the guard, and pulls out his warhammer.
"Let's do this!"
He then smashes in the door, ready to wallop anyone on the other side.
Strength Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Embarassed, Biggs shrugs at Nez and the guard.
"Well... now what?"
Would shooting an acid bolt at the lock have the same effect as a vial of acid?
Biggs Longshaft
but but but my dart does 1d6 + 2 while a acid flask is only 1d6 :)
"I guess there's no getting around it... NEZ! Prepare to jam 'em up with a spell as soon as I bust through!"
Biggs will then ram the door once more, using his warhammer if needed to smash the damned thing down.
STR check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

"Are you seriously going to just stand there like an oaf while I smash me armor against this damned door? Help me break this down, man!"
Biggs hisses at the guard.
Holstering his hammer, he then pulls out his cold iron battleaxe and begins hacking away at the door.
not sure if I need to roll? I imagine it'll take a minute, but should be able to chop it down
Biggs Longshaft
Before going at the door, Biggs mentions to the guard he should watch the back door. It looks like this is gonna take a while to break down, and better not risk them taking advantage of that time to escape.
Biggs does his best shining impression as he breaks through the door (slowly).
"SMEEEEEEEEED! DEATH HAS COME TO PAY YOU YOUR JUST REWARD YOU GREEDY BASTARD!"
Anežka Tzvana
"I would help, but I'm afraid I've the upper body strength of a kitten..." - Anežka shakes her head - "My talents lie elsewhere. I'm... Not sure how I could help you..."
She looks around for a moment, trying to see if there is anything she could do to help the sturdy dwarf bash down the reinforced door, but after a while she just gives Biggs an apologetic look and waits patiently for her capable companion to finish chopping down the door.
Biggs Longshaft
"Bah! Guard! Go guard the other door, we can't let him escape! I will axe my way through this door as well!"
Biggs takes his axe to this door now.
Biggs Longshaft
Ooo I get it now. I took slams into him as it hurt him. I forgot he is wearing big ol' full plate. He's the party tank! ;p
I moved Biggs into the doorway exactly, since I figured that is where he would be, and that way he can charge!
Biggs roars and charges full speed at the enemy in the corner whom he assumes in Smeed
"SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED! TAKE MY LONG SHAFTED HAMMER DOWN YOUR UGLY, DISGUSTING, DWARF-NAPPING THROAT AND CHOKE ON THE FINE FORGED STEEL OF MY FATHER TORAG!"
Warhammer!: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 2 = 211d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Cringing in pain as the sword slashes past his armor, Biggs roars and tries to take down the evil Smeed!

"Where is Larur you sonofab!**+!? Where is my buddy?
Biggs Longshaft
I don't understand? You mean she gets the boot? Did her post about being really busy lately get eaten up? I'm confused about what is going on...
Biggs steps up to the man and picks him up by his collar.
"Call off your animal! Call it off before I kill it, by the beard of Torag I swear that I will!"
Biggs waits for his threat to settle in.
"Where is Larur? Bearded dwarf, bit smaller than me, works at the Gold Goblin. He went missing and was last seen on his way here to make a payment to you, SMEED! So, tell me where he is and if he is still alright I will consider sparing your life!"

I don't know what you are talking about! he says after the ape stops its attack
Saul borrowed money, he needs to repay it…I haven't seen Larur in weeks!
He says with tons of swearing mixed in! Biggs believes him, Anezka meanwhile says she feels faint and rushes back to the goblin…humans are so strange Biggs thinks.
After a moment or two the backdoor opens and the bodyguard enters, sword in hand.
Biggs Longshaft
Biggs mind swells with the continued web of lies.
"By the steel toed boot of the all-father, I am sick of this deception! How can I know you are telling the truth, eh? I hear you work for Clegg, is this true? Because I have been led to believe he is behind this, and he is trying to exact his revenge upon Saul and the goblin! Larur was supposed to be on his way here to pay you, and we found his bloody cloak out back! How do you explain that!"...
Biggs' eyes grow wide as he turns to look at the body guard.
"Guard... it was you who found that cloak, right?"
Biggs detects evil on Smeed... and the guard. Whom is now looking very suspicious.
Biggs Longshaft
Biggs continues to concentrate on detecting evil on the two men.
Sense motive vs Guard: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
"Aye... he is a grubby money lender, but you are a guard I have never met in my several weeks at the Goblin. And I have been lied to a whole hell of a lot these lasts few days. I don't know which way is up or down! Now, where can I find Clegg?!"
Biggs Longshaft
"oh... Right, well... Haircut?"
Biggs sighs, utterly confused about what he should do. It seems Smeed had given any information he was willing to give, and there was little reason to kill him now in cold blood. But where could Larur be...
"one last time, Smeed, where can I find Clegg?"
MiniGM
Clegg? Probably his arena…what is going on here, I have no idea what you are talking about.
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 1) + 6 = 13
1d20 ⇒ 9
The guard standing behind him swings his shortsword and neatly slices off Smeed's head.
Enough of his talk and lies. Larur is likely dead somewhere. Lets get back to Saul and tell him the bad news.
Biggs Longshaft
"you just killed him??? I had questions for him! This whole thing is just more confusing now.... Damnit! Well nothing left to do but return to Saul I suppose..."
MiniGM
scimitar, masterwork light crossbow with 10 bolts, pocket
case of 5 Qadiran cigars (worth 5 gp each), garnet necklace
worth 200 gp, belt pouch with 25 gp and 5 pp
I was tired of his lies and bull. we should search this place.
enjoy level 3 and telly our friend to make a level 3
Biggs Longshaft
wahoo! I am all done leveling. Shall we go back to the goblin and rest and then talk to Saul about wtf is going on?
