Now that I am feeling myself, I attempt to figure out what the ring does while looking through the stuff that Bambara found.

I delicately put the anklet on and flash a smile as I stand up and curtsy.

I go up the stairs as well and start thinking out loud.

Chui carefully moves west until he can see into the two alcoves that are part of the western portion of this room.

Apologies for my stupidity in posting the same thing so many times. I blame a lack of caffeine.

I move into the room.

Looks like even the hornets have abandoned this place. Hey Chui, whats the over/under on the Div trapping the dresser?

What condition is the dresser in? Is it a reasonable guess that this was Ariseti's room?

Is there anything up here that wants to kill us, Chui? Seems quiet now.

Harmini follows Chui's instructions and waits in the doorway.

Anything of interest in either of these alcoves, or should I keep moving

The alcoves are pretty empty, mostly decayed clothes and other various houseware. The only things of note are the Bed, The Dresser, and the hornet's nest.

The dresser is in decent shape, though similar shape to other furniture in the house. It has probably weathered better being on the second floor. As for is this Ariseti's room, you can't be sure but given the size, this room is probably the master bedroom.

Nothing that wants to kill and eat us ... yet.

Chai carefully moves over to the dresser, taking a look into the northwest closet so the ancient red dragon lurking there doesn't take the party by surprise.

Standing in front of the dresser, Chui cracks his knuckles.

Oh Great and Powerful Bastet, I wouldn't mind finding a diamond the size of my head in here.

Chui begins going through the dresser. Nothing jumps out. Actually nothing at all is inside.

Hmmm, totally empty, what a bummer. Let's be smart about this. Any of the drawers not as deep as the overall dresser indicating a secret compartment in back or anything along those lines?

As I wait by the door while Chui checks out the room, pushing the sand around slightly with my foot, I sheepishly look over at Bambara.

Hey, I didn’t mean to get you riled up by bringing up a long dead druid for no reason. I’m sorry for upsetting you. Being made for that purpose is terrible and with me being hungry ALL the time, it’s great to know that you trust me. I would never do anything to break that trust.

While Chui is examining the dresser and now chest, is anyone else doing anything?

Since there's time and I'd likely concentrate for 3 rounds... what kind of magic aura is coming from the hornet's nest?

While Chui is working with the chest, Harmini concentrates on examining the aura she notes in the hornet's nest.

Bambara, would be a dear and go fetch that old hornets nest for me? There appears to be something magical inside of it.

Oh I get it. He’s like a flower so he has to go mess around with a bee’s nest. Wait...does that make sense? Ahh anyway.

I move over to the nest.

I think I can handle this one. Beside, if whatever is in this is also cursed, it’s best to stack all of them on one person. I’m guessing Imanish put this in here. Also, little known fact, hornet honey is an amazing hair softener.

I poke (or lightly kick depending on the height of the old nest) and if I hear no angry buzzing noises I use my claws to open it up.

Chui attempts to open the chest but the lock is a bit more stubborn than he thought.

Alex heads over to the corner and pokes at the hornet's nest. After guessing it is safe she cuts open the surface to find out what is inside. As the nest easily tears open, a golden metal handband falls to the floor, rolling around and coming to rest at her feet.

She is going to do something stupid with that headband. I just know it.

Chui pauses in his efforts in order to give Alex a chance to put on the probably cursed magic item.

I’m slightly disappointed. Hornet honey would have been welcomed, my split ends are getting a bit out of control. I won’t worry to much, if the headband was cursed the div would put it out in the open like the ring. Imanish clearly hid this so it must be valuable. Still, what is it I wonder? I do...love gold.

I turn and wink at Harmini and put the headband on.

Harmini raises her finger momentarily as if to protest... then smiles and lowers her hand.

It looks lovely, my dear. Really lovely.

As the headband settles on Alex's head, it's form begins to change. The gold begins to twist and seems to become a twisted band of gold and copper. A black stone carved into a skull appears on the front of it, with copper horns sprouting from it.

Chai takes a big hit of nip ....

Oh WOW! WHAT A RUSH! I feel incredible! Powerful. My blood calls to me all the time, but now...

I feel around my head and gasp as I touch the horns growing out of my skull. I begin frantically looking around the room and at the others.

Harmini approaches Alex cautiously, casts Detect Magic and attempts to identify the strange magical item.

I ho up to Alex drawing Shortstab as its most likely more polished.

I try to hold Shortstab so that Alex can see her new horns.
bambara hopes this not end bad. no want to hurt Alex. Alex save Bambara before.

I sit down and fold my legs into the lotus position. I run my hands over my horns and almost hyperventilate as I realize that they’re a part of me.

As I look over my reflection, I finally move over to the stone skull and my demeanor changes from excitement to slight confusion and worry.

Wait, is that a skull? Am I the bad guy now? You don’t see many just and righteous people walking around with black skulls on their head. Maybe I could cover it with my hair? Paint it copper? Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE this, but you’re right Bam. The black rock is scary.
