As Bahir and Efreat are taking in the impressive cascading river of magma, everyone else is paying attention for danger. Of note is a 20-foot square alcove to the right. On the back wall is an ominous looking bronze disc filling the entire brass wall. As you watch, the disc tears free of the wall and transforms into a gargantuan beast, something like a huge lion from the shoulders down but its head is a short cone of brass, widening to a 20-foot diameter head. It lowers it's head and begins charging.

Mah'ysa, Paellat, and Hazreem can react before it exits the alcove.

Knowledge(Arcana) DC25:
That's a massive construct! A Juggernaut! This is going to be hard to damage. (i.e. Hardness)

Tiger AoO Claw: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

As the Juggernaut begins picking up speed, Hazreem and Mah'ysa flee left and right, but the halfling simply flings a fuzzy ball at it. It transforms into a fierce tiger just moments before the construct impacts it and begins pushing it backwards. It tries to tear into it with its sharp claws, but it they simply scrap uselessly against the massive creature's bronze head.

The Juggernaut continues to push the Tiger backwards right towards Pae and the Paladin. Pae is unable to get out of the way and is rammed by the tiger's backside and is pushed right along with it. Bahir turns to see this coming at him and can only brace for impact as he slides backwards as well. Twenty-five feet behind is the ledge dropping 100 feet down to the lake of lava below. But the weight is too much and the party of four comes to a halt.

Efreat and Sardaukar: Do you have any idea about what might go through it's hardness? Actually, does anything go through hardness or is it just like DR -/(5/10/15)? Not that it matters for my action since I'll need to do this anyway to have any hope of damaging it.

Hearing Efreat's warning, Bahir calls upon a powerful spirit in the service of The Dawnflower's to fuse with Vardishal enabling the sword to literally cut through steel.

Use Divine Bond to make Vardishal +4 and keen.

"By Gozreh's Teeth!" Hazreem swears under his breath. He glances quickly behind him at the passage making sure no one else is coming before reaching into his pouch and pulling out his stone shape wand.

Let's see how strong this Juggernaut is...I just hope no one else takes an interest here.

Activate Stone Shape wand to cause either...
1) The stone wheels of the Juggernaut to break/shatter, thus immobilizing it (preferred choice, assuming the wheels are made of stone) or...
2) causing the 5' gap of stone between the juggernaugt and Pae's tiger to grow jagged and hopefully stopping its charge.

Hmmm... Not sure where the stone is that is being shaped. This juggernaut is made from brass and bronze. The floor and walls are brass...

adamantine bypasses any hardness of less than 20 so I would say break out any adamantine weapons we have. As it is a construct and not a golem, I may be of some assistance here.
Efreat moves back away from the construct and shouts, "besh'ven'dos!"

Oh my...if we could only take some of this metal back to Kelmarane, we would be rich beyond our wildest dreams!

Hazreem curses again as he realizes the wand would be useless here. Now what? Need to know if electricity can hurt it... He sends forth an arc of lightning at the juggernaut before drawing his scimitar and moving into melee.

Lightning Arc Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 8 + 1 + 1 = 20 haste, prayer; damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 electrical.
He will then move to the NE corner of the juggernaut to try giving Pae a flank here. AC for AoO is 21.

Thanks Hazreem. that's exactly what I needed

The Hasted Halfling tumbles diagonally past his feline ally and comes up opposite Hazreem

Acrobatics 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (11) + 20 = 31

He draws his rapier and seeks a joint in the constructs surface driving the narrow blade in.

Rapier 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26 Damage 1d4 + 6d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + (5, 1, 3, 5, 4, 4) + 2 = 28

Scarab Sages

BTW, Bahir also moved 5' feet up next to the tiger to prepare to engage the thing next round.

Efreat: Since Hazreem ran due north and Mah'ysa went south (but was limited by the wall), Haste is unable to effect everyone since two are more than 30 feet apart. Since Bahir and Hazreem are more than 30 feet apart, I'll assume everyone but Hazreem is effect by Haste. Even with Hazreem moving up to the NE corner, he'll still be over 30 feet from Mah'ysa.

As Efreat flies up and away, the large tiger fruitlessly scraps away at the metal construct. Hazreem fires off an bolt of electricity at this massive thing. It is huge and not really moving that fast so makes an extremely easy target (Touch AC is 4, 2 with charge), but the electrical jolt strikes the construct and doesn't seem to have any effect on it.

The druid then carelessly rushes towards it to which the animated thing turns and reacts to the approach by swinging a massive appendage.

Jaggernaut AoO on Hazreem: 1d20 + 20 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 20 - 1 = 24 Hit (-1 for Prayer)
Slam Damage: 2d8 + 21 - 1 ⇒ (2, 4) + 21 - 1 = 26 (-1 for Prayer)

The blow nearly knocks the druid off his feet with bone-crushing strength. That's gonna hurt in the morning. (Damage: 26)

The Halfling takes this opportunity to use his hasted speed to rush to the other side. But given the sheer size of this thing he really leaves himself wide open to attack, but thankfully it is not quick enough to turn and attack him after taking that strike on the druid. The rogue reaches the other side unharmed. He jams his magically enhanced rapier right into a joint where it can do the most damage. Despite this, it doesn't do as much damage as he'd hope. (Damage: 13)

As Bahir steps up next to the tiger, the jaggernaut pulls back and then puts all of its sheer weight into shoving the tiger again. It nearly reaches the end of the ledge as it comes close to pushing the tiger over. The massive size of this thing shoves the Paladin aside, but not before he and the druid can take a swing at it. (This also puts it in melee range of Efreat, even though he is 20 feet in the air)

Jaggernaut Bull Rush on Tiger: 1d20 + 28 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 28 - 1 = 43 Hit (-1 Prayer)
Tiger AoO on Jaggernaut: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 2 = 18 Miss (+1 Prayer, +1 Haste)

Bahir, Hazreem, and Pae can take AoOs.

Scarab Sages

The paladin transforms into the expected whirlwind of steel death and begins to try to rip through the side of the metal construct with his heavily enchanted scimitar.

+4 to scimitar makes it equivalent to adamantine. I'm guessing it is resistant to frost damage a bit so that would effect the last d6 of my damage rolls (or hopefully maybe not since it's used to all this magma :).

Heh, that was a lot of rolls.

Pae: Hazreem went to the Northeast corner, so I moved you to the SW corner. But with the massive size of the creature, you wouldn't need to get all the way to the far size to flank but with Haste you could make it.

As the construct moves forward, Pae jabs his rapier in again and damages it some more. 21 is what you need!

Scarab Sages

FYI Sardaukar: I think you have your east and west mixed up ;) Since Hazreem isn't probably giving me flank I would just 5' step to the NE to get flank with the tiger.

<head slap> Why yes, you are correct. Not enough sleep. I'll fix that on the map. That'll put Hazreem on the other corner.

Seeing that his companions are starting to make quick work of the construct, the paladin chooses to press his attack to support them instead of stooping to pick up the crown that bounces off the thing's metal hide.

Round 3___________

Mah'ysa sings aloud of the might of the Dawnflower.
Inspire Courage: All allies gain +1 competence bonus to hit, damage. +1 morale bonus to saves vs fear and mind affecting attacks.

Efreat moves back, levels his wand, and then waves his hand as ten bolts fly into the construct. 5' back. Use wand of magic missiles and quicken magic missiles10d4 + 10 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 4, 1, 1, 2, 3, 2, 1) + 10 = 32

Ignoring the crown tossed his direction, the Paladin continues to swing. But only the mightiest of his blows do anything to damage this thing, but when they do cause it to crack and break off large sections. (Total damage 18 from crits)

Pae works his rapier into the joints and seizes up the lower half of the construct, immobilizing it from moving. (Total Damage: 18)

Efreat gives it another volley, hit it with blast after blast until it whole appendages crumble to the floor and pieces to go flying onto the brass floor behind it. There is little that remains of the jaggernaut to be a threat and it ceases to move.

Out of initiative

Mah'ysa stops singing and slumps a little with relief. She runs over to give Bahir a hug. Then she shakes him.
"Why did you have me throw that crown if you weren't going to use it?" She asked with irritation.
She marches over to heal Hazreem in a huff.
Using the wand on Hazreem: 2d8 + 3 + 2d8 + 3 + 2d8 + 3 + 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (7, 2) + 3 + (6, 8) + 3 + (4, 1) + 3 + (6, 6) + 3 = 52 healed with four charges.

Looking over the ledge towards the lake of lava below, you are able to make out the barge you traveled on sitting along the edge closest to you. The unquenchable fire still burns on the left prow.

Examining the passage that leads north, you find it leads to a domed chamber where the river of magma flows from the northeast and exits to the southwest. The roar of a cataract can be heard from that direction. A ledge runs along the eastern edge of the magma pool a couple of feet above the level of the molten rock. A grill of thick, scorched brass bars extends from the north side of the pool all the way to the ceiling, blocking passage into the tunnel beyond. Swirling through the air from the surface of the magma to the ceiling above are dozens of burning motes.

Perception DC30:
In the domed ceiling over a hundred feet above, you spot a square like that of a trap door.

The paladin returns the hug and then picks up the crown to hold onto, "I thank you. The crown may still be useful until I have a proper weapon forged from it. It was good to have the option open but I noticed Efreat and Pae were doing well against it. So I was, at the last, just hoping to distract it for them."

Observing the unquenchable fire still burning on the prow of the boat Bahir asks Efreat, "Should we bring that with us?"

Stopping at the magma river's edge Bahir unrolls the flying carpet in preparation but waits for Efreat to do the actual scouting, "Hmmmm, how do we get past those bars?"

Hazreem accepts the healing and hides a smirk at Mah'ysa's scolding of her future husband. That will be an interesting time for both of them!

He elects to stay in his elemental form for the time being and notices something interesting. "I think I may have found our way out of here." He points out the outline of the trap door in the domed ceiling to the group.

Pae looks up and spots the trapdoor too.."hmm..well..I guess someone will have to fly up there and see what is behind it" he says looking pointedly at the elemental Druid

Bahir volunteers, "Pae, you and I can do it on the carpet. Just...catch us Efreat if we take a tumble." He gives the sorcerer a grin as he says it.

"And I am completely sure that door is NOT trapped, am I right?" The elemental druid replies a bit testily. After the paladin offers his suggestion, he nods in agreement, "A good plan Bahir. I will watch your backs while you two check out the trap door."

"So... that they can fall slowly into the lava rather than quickly?" Asked Mah'ysa with alarm.
"How is that better?"
