Sunset, seeing the lass seems to be in good hands, wades towards shore still glaring from under the brim of her hat looking for the culprit behind the arrow.
Perception:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
She does, however, continue to hold her pistol at the ready.
"Goin' to give some one a good shellacking over all this water and sand in my boots..." She grumbles.

"Sunset" |

Seeing a person holding a bow, Sunset's first words are,
"Oi! YOU!" As she quickens her pace and pointing, with her free hand, at the probable object of her ire.
"I want a serious talk with you!" She demands, though her weapon is currently held pointing down at the ground, there is little mistaking her possible intent to use it.

"Sunset" |

Sunset nods at the man's loud comment,
"Aye, that you have. Now I call for you to stand down and start explaining things." She demands.
How close has/can Sunset get to the fellow?

"Sunset" |

*Nods* Thank'e, but she'll stop more at 30'. ;)
"Right then, so you're a man who's scruples have a price. That's nice to know. What else about your self are you willing to divulge?" She asks, now standing with her feet a comfortable shoulder distance apart. With a deft twist of the wrist she holsters the metal item she'd been carrying and waiving about in the surf.
"Not that I'm too fancy, I'll settle for the discount version of things from your-self." She adds.

"Sunset" |

Again Sunset nods at the man's words.
"Thanks indeed for that knowledge. How's about you help 'narrow the field', as it were, and give me some pointers as to where to find this...Njord...bloke." Sunset prompts.

"Sunset" |

Sunset shakes her head,
"Now, there you see? We've developed a misunderstanding. While I thank you for that information, I didn't ask for 'Who'....I specifically asked for 'Where'..." Sunset replies, though she keeps watching the fellow closely.

Phagin Harwood |

Phagin backs away from the stranger. "Looks like you've drawn more that just attention. I don't know what would be worse, letting you go and letting this Njord deal with your abject failure, or leaving you in the hospitality of this little lady?" He nods to Sunset, "Well miss, what do you say, you think your madder than a burly northern slaver?" Phagin smiles broadly at her.

"Sunset" |

Sunset chuckles at the Elf's comment,
"Aye, well for a while there I was madder than a cut snake, but this blokes been helpful enough. I've no more quarrels with him, it's the waste of spit that's got money to throw away that's now got my full attention." She replies.

Maldrin |

"Perhaps introducing him to the mob may not be the best idea. After all, as yet, we haven't heard the mermaid's side of the story, and we probably want this person in one piece at least long enough to do that. I suggest we let him find out the hospitality of our good sheriff while others work on the other half of this puzzle, the mermaid. Once we have heard both sides, we can figure out how to proceed."

Durgen Grimhelm |

Seeing the growing commotion on the beach Kjell turns to the other two helping the mermaid.
"It seems that the others might have found the one that did this. Do you need help bringing her to shore? The puir thing looks famished. I want to get my hands on that assassin!"
"Go ahead, I want to make sure she is safe." Turning to the mermaid, "Now why would this man be after you? Anything else we can do?"[/b]

Phagin Harwood |

Phagin, turning his smile to Maldrin, replies "Oh, I imagine the local mob is made of such fine people. But you are right, our Mermadien may have a completely sensible and convincing reason why she should be shot in the back by..." Returning his gaze to the stranger, "I'm sorry, what did you say your name was?"

"Sunset" |

Having got what she came for, Sunset seems less inclined to care about the fellow with the bow. She begins to step backwards and away from him,
"I find that as the number of people goes up, the amount of thinking goes down..." She mutters cryptically, she looks for a way to move back to the beach that will provide cover for herself from the Bow-man. In response to Phagin's question to the man, she throws in a reply,
"His name is probably as negotiable as his scruples..." She gives the Bow-man a withering glare then,
"Well...good day to you, sir, I've had my questions answered to a satisfactory point and my anger similarly appeased." She reaches up and tugs upon the brim of her hat as a message of 'Good-bye', leaving said miscreant to himself as she heads back to the others and the mer-folk upon the beach.
Yes, so looking for the 'safest' or most reasonably 'secure' way to get back to the mer-folk to start helping there where she can and maybe getting information from that side of the coin.

"Sunset" |

She tips her hat in acknowledgment and semi-greeting,
'The name's 'Sunset Ha'penny', now I've other things to do. Good-day to ye." And when Sunset is feeling secure enough she will turn her back upon the man and have a better look into the health and well being of the ocean-lass.

"Sunset" |

Sunset reaches out and ruffles the lass' hair,
"Come and help the wounded and such first. That fellow's done with." She turns the girl's attention to the other people still helping the mer-folk.

Sunset puts a gentle hand upon Durgen's shoulder,
"No mate, you find some where amongst the wharves for the lass there to rest and stay damp. I'll bring the Alchemist to her." She suggests and so saying the Half Elf turns and trots off to find either the Alchemist in his shop, or the Alchemist and his residence.

"Can you have a look at the gunk on this?" She asks, holding the effected arrow out for Nisk to see.
