With room in the chamber to fully swing his blade Silva strikes down the closest mite, clearing the area below the hole.

Step to J-4 and fire on the furtherest standing mite, likely the one at I-9, no melee penalty.

Creature is within first range band of 100', no range penalty, and is less than 30' from Maksim(I think), +1 damage bonus.

Normal arrows only.

if hit does 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 = 4 Mighty Bow +2 and 30' range.

Andrej moves forward and attacks the mites surrounding the kobolds. He swings aggressively.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12


Maksim's second arrow finishes the mite he wounded, Egan drops another with his crossbow before Andrej plows into them and cuts a third down with his flashing blade.

Panicked the last remaining mite turns from the battle and flees across the chasam at the edge of the room, deftly swinging across on the roots poking from the wall.

Withdraw from Andrej, double move. Ends up in a tunnel on the far side of the cavern out of sight.

The kobold has a look of recognition and begins to speak in common through his battered lips, "Softscales come to rescue Mikmak? You remember radish sweetness? Help me, fey hurt Mikmak, hurt all Sootscales!"

Do we pull out the kobold and cut and run before they put up more organised resistance or try to exterminate everything in the lair?


"Give me sword, i fight! Softscales help get god back and Sootscales give many treasures!" Mikmak chirps is his high pitched common.

Egan scrambles down (maybe with Silva's help) and attends to Mikmak as he works to free him

Heal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Is he wounded?

Friend Mikmak! Of course we remember. Are you hurt?

To Andrej he answers We need to remove the threat of these fey from this land if we are to make it safe.

if Mikmak is hurt Egan will cast healing magic to help him. Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

And once he is freed Egan will arm him with a weapon of the approperate size. Here Mikmak. You take my Morning Star. Bash bad fey.


Mikmak was heavily injured, sitting on 1 hp after the torture that killed the other kobolds.

"Thank you for magic, and weapon. Their chief over cavern, he has God." Mikmak bobs his head in thanks.

What do you mean, God?Egan looks both confused and concerned. Do you know your way through this place? Can you draw a map in the dirt? He indicates the ground in front of him.

How does one cross? A mad jump, catch the roots and then up? How deep is the chasm?


"Brought straight here, boss went over. Not seen other side, boss took kobold God over. Taunt us with God before torture. Must get Sharptooth back!" You get the impression that he is talking about some kind of idol.

Andrej make a perception.

There are loops of rope around some of the roots on the cealing of the chasm, the mites used these to swing across. Looking over the edge the bottom is shrouded in darkness but is at least 30ft down.

Climb dc 10 if you use the loops, its a long jump and due to the confines of the lair the acrobatics dc would be 20.

Andrej reaches out to one of the loops and gives it a sharp tug, the loose knot causes it to come away in his hand. Several of the loops have been tied in the same way as a booby trap.

Watch out - some of these are rigged to drop you into the pit... , he holds up the loose end as evidence.

Is take 10 an option? I've got an adjusted +2 climb and I'm not willing to sacrifice my character to the dice gods and a 30ft fall...

Do we need to cross here or was there a tunnel we missed exploring that may take us around?

Maksim looks at the trapped rope with dismay, then goes digging into his pack, pulling out a long length of quality rope. "We'll need to use our own rope then, we cannot depend on the loops they use, one mistake and it's a bad fall. We can test each of the loops at the top and tie this rope to several of them, that should be safe, or just to secure roots directly, or both. I don't recall a tunnel but I couldn't see much."

Maksim looks it over to see what looks good to attach to.

Taking 10 is an option for the climb, Andrej can happily point out each loop tied with a slip knot thanks to his high perception roll. Stringing your own rope across would make it easier to withdraw if you needed to.

Maksim strings his rope saying, "This won't help much going down but should when we need to come up again. And we should not linger here beyond getting what we need. An idol was stolen? Well I'm not much for idols of unknown godlings as such but if it's important to the Soots then we best get it, a good way to be friends. We have to find the boss mite to get it? That'll mean fighting them all won't it? I guess it would come to that anyway if we need to make sure no one else it harmed by these evil creatures." Maksim will follow Silva when the party leaves the torture chamber.

I'll certainly take 10 if possible, I'm no better than Andrei in a climb.

Chasm!

Andrej swings out on the loops he knows to be safe to afix Maksims rope when from the southern corner of a chasm a huge shape scuttles up the wall towards him.

Andrej make a perception to see if you can act, everyone else is surprised. Roll initiative, the critters position is where it will be once it has moved.

The huge centipede squeezes between the narrow chasm walls as it scuttles up to Andrej, lashing out with its whip like tails to dislodge him from his precarious grip.

Partial charge with tail attack.

To hit: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6 Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2
If hit trip attempt: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18

Its tail slaps at Andrej but is held back by his armour.

I'm sorry Andrej, you cannot withdraw using a form of movement that you don't have a listed speed for. Also it has a 20ft reach, you might want to rethink that plan anyway.

Dont have a lot of options open to me - not sure if acrobatics can do much for me in this situation so I'll take the move action and move to the indicated square and wear the attack of opportunity... It may take me close enough to the edge to grab the ledge. Standard action as a move action to make it to I10


Probably the best option to be honest Andrej.

The creature whips its tail at Andrej again as he tries to make it back to solid ground...

To hit: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 Damage non lethal: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Trip: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21

But the constraints of the cramped space does not allow it to come anywhere close.

So, Maksim is up, but he asked you to bot him for a couple of days. His action is to step back 5' to I9 and cast bless.

Egan moves up to J9 and, hoping that he will not provoke, casts Burning Hands at the large bug.

Burning Hands: 5d4 ⇒ (1, 2, 3, 1, 2) = 9 DC15 Reflex for half


I'm going to say you don't provoke due to cover, most of the monster is still in the chasm round the corner.

Reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

The huge insect rears away from the fire but cannot avoid it, several of its legs crisp away anddrop to the ground.


Silva steps up and chops at the beast with his blade...

Move to J8 and power attack.

To hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 Damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 4) + 9 = 17

But his overhand blow catches the roof, bounckng harmlessly from the creatures segmented armour.

If Maksim has a stable point to stand he'll call for Erastil's favor to bless the party. I think everyone is still within 50' feet of him. If not he'll try to move to where he can get everyone within a Bless's radius.

Andrej drops to the ground and draws his sword as the vermin wriggles its way to the top of the chasm. It lashes out at Silva with its bite and whips its tail around to try and trip him as he blocks its way into the room.

Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 5) + 7 = 13 Plus poison
Tail: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 Non lethal damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Trip if hit: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29


Silva deftly evades the creatures attacks and swings back at it with his greatsword...

To hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 Damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (3, 5) + 9 = 17

Dispite taking a chuck from the wall he also deals the beast a huge blow spraying ichor across the room.

Seeing Andrej take a major hit Maksim tries to close with him, drawing the Wand of CLW as he goes. If he succeeds in getting within range he will use the wand on him.

I'm not sure if a roll is need to get there. Use one of the above if so.
