Vladimir Ducheski |
So much for using the available choke point... Vladimir thinks to himself as he sees Sugua rush in toward the mites.
Wincing in pain as the rocks pelt his body, Vladimir moves forward and again readies to strike the first enemy within reach.
Readied Dueling Sword: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 18 (insprire, bless)
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5 (inspire)
Gonzo the Magnificent |
Right before hearing the cracking above him, Gonzo pairs his advice with Donovan's, "That blue one has conjured some translucent armor, he will be harder to hit! BLAST IT ALL!" He shouts as rocks and gravel plow atop him.
He worms his way past his allies to provide himself a clear, unoccupied line of sight toward the blue mite and let's out a stream of fire.
Fire Jet (Su): 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 DC 15 Reflex or catch fire
Durielle Omenstar |
Durielle is showered with rocks and debris as the remnants of the stone call spell spill over the edge while the oracle ascends the former rope bridge turned ladder. The fact the earth had erupted just over her head made her unexpectedly thankful she was not faster. But from the groans and gasps from those above, she could only imagine the devastating effect on her comrades.
Finishing her ascent, she finds Gonzo look fairly injured while casting a spray of flames in the direction of several mites at the far end of the tunnel. Vladimir and Sugua have already charged in and engaged the small fey, and Donovan has just finished offering words of supplication to his god. Clousuk stamps and chants a beat which begins to fill her with a surge of possibility. What a wondrous feeling.
Reaching out, Durielle looks for a thread of time in which Gonzo ascended the rope ladder to find the cavern empty and thus receive no damage.
Durielle casts cure light wounds on Gonzo.
cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Unfortunately, the only thread she located is one in which Gonzo tripped in the dark and sprained an ankle, so he will still suffer some pain, but at the very least the damage has been lessened.
Vladimir Ducheski |
Nothing to change really, I've moved as far as I can in a single move so I will stick with the ready to action.
Vladimir Ducheski |
Just did...not sure I care, but I'll go ahead and double move.
Sugua Bran't |
Sugua sees one wiggling its fingers around and smiled " Kill the casters! Should work out better. Though the potion drinkers are no better a well "
He swings down at the Green one.
Blessed Inspired Greatsword Slash: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Blessed Inspired Greatsword Slash Damage: 2d6 + 7 + 1d4 ⇒ (6, 2) + 7 + (2) = 17
Had to normally move through the difficult terrain so no study
DM Tuyena |
Both the Mites in red pull out small bombs and hurl them at Sugua and Vladimir.
Bomb Sugua: 1d20 - 3 + 9 ⇒ (20) - 3 + 9 = 26
Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 1) + 3 = 10
Bomb Crit: 1d20 - 3 + 9 ⇒ (9) - 3 + 9 = 15
Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 4) + 3 = 12
Bomb Vladimir: 1d20 - 3 + 9 ⇒ (4) - 3 + 9 = 10
Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 6) + 3 = 15
This provokes an attack from both Sugua and Vladimir on their respective Red Mite.
Sugua takes 22 unless he kills it on his AoO. The other bomb misses Vladimir.
The rest of the party is free to act.

Sugua Bran't |
Shrug, point.. Though it sets a precedent. Just wanted it followed. I'll swing anyway, the Aoe is still a thing though
AoO Blessed Inspired Greatsword Slash: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
AoO Blessed Inspired Greatsword Slash Damage: 2d6 + 7 + 1d4 ⇒ (3, 2) + 7 + (3) = 15
Vladimir Ducheski |
AoO Dueling Sword: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 20 (inspire, bless)
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4 (inspire)
Clousuk Sootscale |
"Clousuk says Clousuk, mites cornered like rats! So stomp them like bugs!"
Having clambered up the ladder, the kobold duelist moves to join the fray.
Double move and continue performance (5/7).
DM Tuyena |
Ok let's take a look here.
1d2 ⇒ 2
1d8 ⇒ 5
The bomb lands behind Vladimir.
Vladimir can Reflex to half damage, otherwise he takes 3.
Both Sugua and Vladimir's AoO hit, but Sugua does not drop his and so he takes 18 damage. Immediately afterwards the Mite he hit falls unconscious.
Rest of party is free to act

Vladimir Ducheski |
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Clousuk Sootscale |
Having finally reached the battle, Clousuk eagerly thrusts the tip of the rapier forward, right at the mite in front of him.
"Skewer mite like bug on stick!"
Rapier Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 1 + 1 = 24
Arcane Strike Damage: 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5 Fencing Grace can't come soon enough...
Donovan of Restov |
Donovan holds forth his holy symbol and sends waves of restorative energy forth to the party.
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 1
I'll selectively exclude the blue and red mites, and purple mite is out of range. Everyone else should be within 30'.
Khargol Uzgurn |
Moving quickly to join the others, Khargol drops his longsword and shield after ascending the rope ladder, in the same motion pulling his bow free of its harness; it was the only way he was going to inflict any damage right now, as opposed to waiting until he could close the distance between himself and the mites.
Still...he knew he wasn't good enough with a bow to fully avoid Vlad and Sugua, so he aimed the weapon at the mite behind the others (Purple) and let fly.
Longbow Attack w/ Bless+Inspire: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 25
Longbow Damage w/ Inspire: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5
Critical Confirm?: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 21
Critical Damage: 2d8 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5, 6) + 4 + 2 = 17
Gonzo the Magnificent |
On Sugua's turn, after he kills the adjacent mites
Gonzo notices the pattern of the mites' positions and calls to Sugua, "Sugua my friend, you happen to be standing in the utmost advantageous spot for me. Would you mind stepping aside for a moment?"
If I can stand right where Sugua is, my burning hands spell with hit every single one and none of us.
Alphonse Calderon |
Perfectly fine action far as im concerned tuyena, update on me, I did PM our GM but so you guys know i work for Geek squad and with the closing of futureshop in canada im super hectic, and as an added benefit it looks like my GF is in early labor and is due any day now, soo ill be here but probly not as often as i like for the next few days
DM Tuyena |
Khargol's shot finds the purple Mite in the chest, wounding him greatly.
Fort Save: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 8 - 2 = 19
The Mite shrieks in anger at Khargol and charges at him, floating above the ground ever so slightly, his tick following beside him.
The Mite viciously swings at Khargol with a Glaive.
Charging Power Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
He misses by 1, Power Attack giveth, and Power Attack Taketh away.
So Durielle, Vladimir, Clousuk (Technically already acted), and Gonzo may now act.
Gonzo, you have a giant bug in your face and difficult terrain, god speed.
Durielle Omenstar |
Durielle casts guidance on Gonzo this time and redraws her sword.
Edit: Since I have been advised the mite facing us has a reach weapon, it appears I need to cast defensively in order to avoid an AoO.
Defensive cast v. DC 17: 1d20 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 2 + 3 = 14
Well...let's hope he misses.
Vladimir Ducheski |
Vladimir slashes at the mite in front of him.
Dueling Sword: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 24 (bless, inspire)
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 1 = 9 (inspire)
DM Tuyena |
Flame Jet: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Mite Save: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 8 - 2 = 9
The Mite catches fire.
Tick Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
The Mite in blue attempts to cast a spell.
Concentration: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Burning Hands: 3d4 ⇒ (3, 4, 3) = 10
But he fails. Sugua is up.

Sugua Bran't |
Sugua breathes ragged, red flaring his vision but still stands. He turns back to the mite that got by but was too hurt to do much about it. Best to make his time ridding the threats. He all but stumbled out of the rocky material and planted his feat near the bomb-throwing mite and grinned wide.
" Dammit Vlad! I told you to take care of the ones who cast.. luckily he didnt do much! That one who got by will kill the backline, I can't do much for that. You all should try and take him down quickly! As for this mite.. I'll take care of him. "
Sugua fights against his body and brings the blade down with the help of gravity.
Blessed Inspired Greatsword Slash: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Blessed Inspired Greatsword Slash Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 2) + 7 = 14
5ft, Attack Bleed 1.. puts me back a neg 8
Confirm Blessed Inspired Greatsword Slash: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Confirm Blessed Inspired Greatsword Slash Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (6, 1) + 7 = 14
Donovan of Restov |
Donovan continues channeling positive energy, just in case the mites have any more surprises that might injure the more badly-wounded members of the party. He moves up past some of his party members to make sure that he's close enough to help Sugua.
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 2
As usual excluding the mites.
Khargol Uzgurn |
Khargol breathes in a deep breath, hopping backwards out of the range of the mite's glaive, realizing that the creature only missed him by a hair's breadth moments ago. Strangely enough, he seemed to be having better luck now with his bow than with his sword, though he had found little use for the ranged weapon prior to coming out to the wilderness. Still...why mess with a good thing?
Another arrow nocked to the string, Khargol calls on the magic granted him moments before by Durielle, using the precognition to guide his aim. He draws a bead on the same mite he hit moments earlier, holding the breath he'd drawn in while releasing the bowstring, its missile whistling forward through the air.
Longbow Attack+Bless+Inspire+Guidance: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 20
Longbow Damage+Inspire: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 = 10
I'm assuming the space I moved Khargol to on the map was a viable space. It looked like one to me. If not, please let me know.
Khargol Uzgurn |
That would provoke an AoO? The movement should've only been a five-foot step, again assuming that the space I moved him to on the board is a valid space up on that ledge...does the mite have 15' reach? Or are 5' steps supposed to provoke and that's another thing I've been playing houseruled unknowingly? Or..wait...does the difficult terrain extend that far out?
Also, you're right about the judgement; for some reason I was thinking it was the same day in-game as the troll right, but it isn't. If you're willing to let me apply it before knowing the result of the attack, I'd like to do so.
Khargol Uzgurn |
OK. I hadn't thought about the difficult terrain coming forward that far. That being the case I would definitely opt for the spear. Want me to re roll the attack and damage?

Gonzo the Magnificent |
Noticing his miscalculation in the distance he would have to travel to get to the previously advantageous spot, Gonzo decides against it. Seeing the bug make its way towards him he reacts as best he can, casting Fire Jet to engulf both the bug and the mite in flames.
Looking around the field for a safe place away from this bug, he finds Donovan standing in the necessary space, "By the gods why must all my tactical positions be occupied!? My good sir Donovan, you happen to be standing where I can benefit most according to the current situation, could you be so kind as to allow me passage? Simply standing aside will do." Keeping his eye on the creepy-crawly careful not to get stung or bitten.
DM Tuyena |
Alphonse will perform another Ear Piercing Scream, this time directed at the large bug threatening Gonzo.
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
The effect seems particularly potent on the creature, and it reels from the sound.
Vladimir, Clousuk, Durielle, and Gonzo are up.
