Male Human Paladin 3 of Cayden Cailean

<tap, tap, tap>

Is this thing still on? :)

Grand Lodge

I certainly hope so. Since no one else responded, I'll split the money and sell the rest to Oleg when we get back there.

Male Half-Elf Ranger 1

Did we find out what the vial with the arrow was?

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

garrick

Spoiler:

The location of the oil (oily consitency) and the image likely makes it a vial of oil true strike....

probably enough to coat one L weapon
2 medium weapons
4 small weapons
or
8 arrows

It is kind of an apply and one shot thing....

Any other questions?

Male Half-Elf Ranger 1

So you dip the arrow in the vial, for example, and it lasts how long before it wears out or does it have to be shot immediately after dipping?

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Needs to be fired, swung, launched immediately after dipping....

No pre-treating arrows!.......

Cool!

Male Half-Elf Ranger 1

Add to the pile:

A bear trap
A set of very nice thieves tools
A very nice flute.

Garric would like the bear trap, the vial, and 20 arrows.

First, does the group have an account set up with Oleg? If not, we should so that we can 'sell' our loot to him to then purchase the supplies we need.

Second, Kenderkin, do we (the players) have a map set up somewhere? I figure Torod and Garrick could work together and come up with a safe and efficient way to explore the area.

Shadow Lodge

So far the only thing I can think that Obi might want is the flute, but that's just because I think it would be neat to have a non-bard character with musical talent.

So if it hasn't been sold yet, Obi will give up his share of the gold for the flute.

He couldn't use the weapons anyway, since he's not Medium.

Grand Lodge

I wouldn't think you'd need to give up your share for the flute. It is just a flute and everyone was offered to take what they wanted from the pile of loot from the bandit camp. As I recall, Obi more than earned that flute during that encounter.

Yes we do have an account set up with Oleg. We have in fact already sold him some of our loot and some of us have already ordered and pre-paid for supplies and equipment that was to be delivered to the outpost. I can check the old thread and repost the relevant bits here.

That being said, we should probably make further equipment and supply purchases to help in our exploration. A wagon or cart comes to mind... something to carry all our gear when we go exploring. (And to haul all our treasure back with! :)

Here is the last map that KK had posted for us:

Map link

Keep in mind that we haven't actually officially explored any of the hexes yet. We merely passed through them on our way to the bandit camp.

And by all means Obi, take the flute. You don't need to "pay" for it. Previously we have just spread out the items to whoever wanted them or could best use them.

In the interest of book keeping and not wanting to lose some things int he shuffle, I am adding the 2 potions to my character sheet. If anyone wants/needs them please let me know.

While I am looking for the Oleg's account info, I'll see if anything else is "missing".

I'll run it all by you KK in this thread before we add anything else.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

I am trusting that everyone character sheets accurately have everything listed.

I have finished the set up for several options.....
1. start mapping (lots of hexes can be done by horseback, some by foot)
2. The stag lord
3. Mites under the old sycamore tree
4. New arrivals at Oleg's
5. Tuskgutter the wild boar
6. Continue to stave off bandits
7. Other?????

In combat I will utilize updated maps as much as possible!

Any other suggestions?

I know it is early but are people thinking about level 2 for PC's....

Grand Lodge

My first vote would be to continue harassing bandits
My second would be to go after the mites

Dark Archive

Here is what I have found in the old thread. KK please let us know what we will be keeping in the new timeline...

Assorted coins, gems and a (magic?)ring (from random encounter). Last in possession of Durn. (Presumed lost)

Silver stag amulet (from Happs). Last in possession of Bellis. (Presumed lost)

(2) Potions of Cure Light Wounds (from Oleg). Last in possession of Eadric. (currently added to character sheet)

Potion of Shield of Faith +2 (from Oleg). Last in possession of Eadric. (currently added to character sheet)

All other loot was distributed or sold to Oleg previously and the money distributed.

Also, Oleg has extended the following to the Wardens:

100gp in store credit. (none has been used to date)
All food and lodging is free for us at Oleg's.

In addition, several of us have ordered (and prepaid for, except the war horse) the following supplies:

Eadric - a combat trained horse (heavy), a military saddle, 2 guards dogs (for Oleg to keep at the outpost) and a letter along with 10gp to be delivered to Eadric's parents in Restov.

Vanion - Four flasks of Acid, a flask of Alchemist Fire, and a single Smokestick. (Perhaps we can keep these when they arrive KK?)

All ordered items, with the exception of the horse were due in about a week (about 5 days from now).

The wardens currently have 2 spare horses in their possession in addition to their mounts.

This is what I have found so far. I don't expect there is anything else. Let me know how you wish to proceed with some of the above.

Dark Archive

My vote is to start mapping and work our way to the mite lair. I would believe the Stag Lord is a little ambitious for 1st level characters. Tuskgutter might be a possibility, but again, we should work our way there by exploring the intervening hexes.

We should also come up with a definitive answer to our growing bandit prisoner problem. We could set them to work building a stockade! :)

In all seriousness, Eadric might decide to offer the bandits a chance at redemption by serving as a makeshift company of man-at-arms. They can do good (possibly dieing in the process) by helping us to clear the Greenbelt, or they can face a trial and possibly hanging.

Thoughts?

Shadow Lodge

I vote we go take on the mites and get the ring back.

As long as we can get someone we can trust to watch the bandits.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

I think Imiria wants to watch the bandits ;)

I also think the fighters can watch them, haul them away or string them up.......

Oleg definitly thinks the bandits owe him a debt for things they have stolen in the past from him........

Thanks for the list.....
Some items maybe re-discovered as thing go forward....
Durn was a ...........?
Bellis was a ........?

Then he can set them to work, just like was suggested. The guards can make sure they don't make trouble and work hard.

As for the witch-child, it could turn into a small mage duel pretty quick.

As for Ula, I'd think Svetlana can care for him as he recovers, at least until Obi gets back.

*makes note: If Ula is around at 7th level, consider Leadership...*

Durn(Human) was a Ranger I believe, and Bellis(Halfling) was a Cleric of Erastil.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Great!

As for the witch-child, it could turn into a small mage duel pretty quick...... ;)

And 2-1 Eadric would try to stop us and get caught in the crossfire, no pun intended...

Grand Lodge

After selling everything no one has claimed already, we have
- 2 horses for pack animals
- Eadric still holds 3 potions (2 cure light and 1 shield of faith +2)
- everyone gets 20 gold, if you have not already marked it down. Imiria gets 25 to do with as she will.
- we now have 520 GP on account with Oleg and are waiting on items still
* Eadric - a combat trained horse (heavy), a military saddle, 2 guards dogs (for Oleg to keep at the outpost) and a letter along with 10gp to be delivered to Eadric's parents in Restov.
* Vanion - Four flasks of Acid, a flask of Alchemist Fire, and a single Smokestick. (Perhaps we can keep these when they arrive KK?)
- Finally, I took the liberty of 'purchasing' some gear for our explorations. I assume all of this will be kept on our horses.
* tent, small
* ration x5 days
* waterskin x2
* bedroll
* blanket
* sack, empty
* rope, silk 50'
* feed for horse x5 days
Even though Eadric and Torod can probably feed everyone everyday, doing so takes time. This way we travel a faster and can plan for 5 day forays out to explore and adventure.

Shadow Lodge

Is it safe to assume the silver flute is masterwork?

Fixed it for you. Eadric can only keep you in spirits! (Both in morale and the kind that come from a bottle!) ;)

We should also look at acquiring other supplies/tools. Crowbars, shovels, pitons etc. More manacles! ;) This is where a cart or wagon would come in handy.

Do we have a hex map of what areas are/are not explored?

Sort of. We haven't "officially" explored any hexes yet. I posted a map link up thread but that just shows our route to the bandit camp. We have traveled through a few but haven't "mapped" any as of yet.

What can we say? We are a long winded bunch! ;)

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

I am getting that it is going to be hex exploring/mapping starting soon......(I might work that in)!

Dark Archive

I have added Eadric's share (20gp) to his sheet, but I have a question Dax. When you sold this last bit of loot to Oleg, what formula did you use? We are to get 75% of book list for all items sold. I haven't checked your math, but thought I should mention it here just in case.

Well, I believe we are to explore and map the area contained within our charter yes?

We really should get that started then! :)

PS I just noticed I have broken 1000 posts here on Paizo! Congrats to me! ;)

For KenderKin:
Have you given any thought as to whether Garric and Torod are in possession of charters? If you haven't, and if I may make a suggestion, we could "find" the charters belonging to Durn, Bellis, Vanion or Lupus and have Eadric "present" them to Torod and Garric for exemplary service in the Greenbelt in name of good, justice and what not. :)

Just an idea. :)

I only calculated at the standard 50%. I'll recalculate. Also, I'll add some items to the list of exploratory gear.

Now we have:
After selling everything no one has claimed already, we have
- 2 horses for pack animals w/pack saddles
- Eadric still holds 3 potions (2 cure light and 1 shield of faith +2)
- everyone gets 20 gold, if you have not already marked it down. Imiria gets 25 to do with as she will.
- we now have 630 GP on account with Oleg and are waiting on items still
* Eadric - a combat trained horse (heavy), a military saddle, 2 guards dogs (for Oleg to keep at the outpost) and a letter along with 10gp to be delivered to Eadric's parents in Restov.
* Vanion - Four flasks of Acid, a flask of Alchemist Fire, and a single Smokestick. (Perhaps we can keep these when they arrive KK?)
- Finally, I took the liberty of 'purchasing' some gear for our explorations. I assume all of this will be kept on our horses and weighs 150.5 lbs including saddle and saddlebags.
* tent, small
* ration x5 days
* waterskin x2
* bedroll
* blanket
* sack, empty
* rope, silk 50'
* feed for horse x7 days
* manacles x2
* shovel
* hatchet (hand axe)
In addition to what everyone has I 'purchased' some gear I didn't think we needed 6 of. If no one else wants to carry these, Torod will keep them on his horse (it's only 26 more lbs).
* block and tackle x2 5 lb ea
* cooking kitx2 2lb ea
* crowbar x2 5 lb ea
* healer's kit x2 1 lb ea

Even though Garric and Torod can probably feed everyone everyday, doing so takes time. This way we travel a faster and can plan for 5 day forays out to explore and adventure.

Dark Archive

We might need a few more tents, or at least a bigger one. A small tent only holds 1 medium sized creature.

A medium tent holds 2 medium sized creatures. A large holds 4 and a pavilion holds 10.

2 large tents would cost us 60gp for the both. A pavilion would cost us 100gp.

A cart only costs us 15gp or a wagon would run us 35gp. We already have the horses required to pull either (1 and respectively) and come with the necessary harnesses.

Should we also be looking to add some other alchemical items? More acid? (Trolls) Some anti-toxin and anti-plague? (Spiders) Weapon blanches? (Fey) Sunrods? Or any other special items?

Perhaps a strong chest and good lock?

Just spit-balling some ideas here! :)

Edit: I just reread your post Dax. Is that stuff listed from tent to ax per person?

Grand Lodge

I'm sorry for not being clear, but yes. This is all per person:

This is only one, or two actually, of each:

Also note that we are going to be going through some very rough terrain. I would expect carts won't make it through much of it. I'm not sure the horses will be able to make it through all of it.

Also, when you tabulated and sold the loot, did you include the stuff that Ellaria uncovered?

Obi the flute?

Ah ok. No problem! :)

Some of the supplies I already have... but it is sort of nickel and diming to worry about. I'll add a second bottle of wine to my inventory and call it even! :) Edit: There were also enough tents at the bandit camp to house 12 men. We should/could have grabbed those! ;)

True about the cart. We wouldn't have to take it out with us all the time, but it might be nice to have when we have need of one.

I can't find anything about carrying capacity for the carts and wagons. Or movement rules... I guess it would be up to KenderKin to decide where the carts could and couldn't go. :)

No, I did not include them. Kenderkin, I'll need a cost on the earrings, furs, and each bottle of liquor. If it is ok with everyone, we can give the music box to Svetlana and a bottle to Oleg. Each of us also gets another 15 GP, 50 SP with the remaining 21 SP going to Imiria.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Oleg's offers:
pair of silver earrings 100 gp
three crates of furs and hides worth 50 gp/crate = 150 GP
eight bottles liquor 15 gp/each = 120 GP

Lord oKOyA wrote:

Done, thanks. Garric actually took 23 arrows (3 broke during the bandit ambush). When you have a money breadkdown per person, please let me know.

I'll add the flute now.

Grand Lodge

That's a grand total for each of us:
GP 77
SP 50
Don't forget the group also have money on account with Oleg (GP 630) and the exploration kit I put together for each of us.

Note: I did not sell the liquor. Of the 8 we started with, one was drank by Imiria and Goat, one was taken by Garric (I think), and one was given to Oleg as a gift. Of the remaining five I suggest we keep one for a celebration (I'm sure we'll have reason soon) and the last 4 can be used as bait for the Stag Lord (one of the bandits said he liked to drink). Garric, would you be so kind as to carry these four bottles as well?

Sounds fine to me... although Eadric is already carrying a bottle for celebratory purposes! ;)

I have added everything to my character sheet.

Arrows 57
MWK Chain Shirt
Quarterstaff
Wooden Holy Symbol (Erastil): Obi

Healers Kit (+2heal, 10 uses)
A silver stag necklace
Two charters from the Swordlords of Restov: Torod, Garric
magic ring

Dark Archive

I think you should hold off liquidating the belongings of our dead friends... Eadric will probably have a problem with that! ;)

Durn's MWK chain shirt for instance is a family heirloom... Eadric would probably insist on returning it to his family, barring that he would bury him in it. He might be convinced to pass it along to Garric. Possibly.* :)

The silver stag came from Happs and may have more significance than merely loot...

Is anyone going to try and identify the ring? Obi and/or Ellaria?

*I'm laying the groundwork with Garric in the RP thread for just such a thing! ;)

Grand Lodge

I didn't know that. This is just to make the dispensation of loot as smooth as possible without having to go through several pages of posts to figure out who gets what. Not that the roleplay is a bad thing mind you. I will admit that this time I probably jumped the gun. I knew that these were your friends and that this was their stuff. It's not a large leap in logic to think that you would want to see that their items are taken care off respectfully.

Male Human Paladin 3 of Cayden Cailean

No worries Dax! :)

You have taken a job upon yourself and it is appreciated!

And yes, sometimes it is better to skip some of the role playing in favor of expediency...

For what it is worth I think that Garric should take Durn's MWK bow and MWK chainshirt... I'll work out getting Eadric on board. ;)

Obi has the holy symbol, and you guys have the charters. We should keep the silver stag, the healer's kit and the magic ring. The rest can be sold.

We'll also send along their other "unlisted" personal effects with word of their deaths...

I'm fine with just the holy symbol. I was considering taking her staff as well, but decided against it.

Adding the holy symbol to my page now.
