Vladamir Orlovsky
"Sounds good.. Start the fire, I'll chunk him and be go before guards get crazy around here.." He'll drop the man head down after the fire is started.. Climbing back out of the window Vlad will head down on the opposite side that the body fell and will head back to the secret passage ninja like..
Take 10 Stealth for a 20
Argan Midnight
Rookeries have no windows ^_^ Otherwise incoming birds would be ($#*¨& up...
Or so I believe
Argan Midnight
I believe it would be a panel-less window, or to better put it, just a large gap for the birds to get in and out, but you may be right and I'll stop disturbing gameplay with my time-I-am-bored-out-of-character-comments ^_^
Argan Midnight
Common folks, let's get this over with.
DM Omen
Sorry guys, my fault for the drag. I'm giving some much needed attention to my homebrew game, but I figured I should give you guys some closure.
Mad Martin is tossed out and the rookery is set on fire, causing the birds to begin squawking and flee. As far as you can tell the birds fly in completely random directions, the only thing on their small brains being survival. Then the two spider-like villains crawl back into their hole before they see how the guards react.
DM Omen
I want everybody to start using "morning", "evening", and "night" to refer to what part of the day they are acting in.
~Morning 3~
By morning the town is buzzing with activity. Rumors are being spread, talk is plentiful, and the words Mad Martin is dead! floats to your ears more than once. People are riled up and upset, although you can tell Mad Martin isn't somebody who is particularly loved.
~Argan Morning 3~
After asking a polite question, "Grumblejack" is pointed across The Lord's Dalliance to a half elf sitting with half a dozen actors. He approaches and asks about the play, to which the half-elf springs up on the table and answers his question to the entire tavern. "We will be performing “The Fall of Amberlyn” a rousing tale of how love and greed brought down a great city state! The plot hinges around the young lovers Brandon and Bronwyn and their doomed romance! I will be playing the handsome Brandon, and Terole of Bronwyn will be played by lovely ingénue Marie Janoset! Please, come see the show!"
~Eryan Morning 3~
Eryan goes to visit the home of Kaitlyn Mott.
Do you mean to stake out the house or are you going to actually visit Kaitlyn? Either way, give me a perception check
~Goodie Morning 3~
After a few days of bringing up more work now and than, Mama G. laughs and shakes her head. "You are a persistant one, aren't you? Well they're always short on one servant or another, I'm sure I can get you some work inside."
Kharn and Vlad, what are you doing on day 3?
Argan Midnight
~Argan Morning 3~
Although he believes this is William Marcus Marlowe, he sees no flaws he could exploit, so he engages a bit more in conversation.
"Ok! Oh no but Grumblejack can't. Grumblejack out of money. Come in the city looking for work. Grumblejack hunt near city but got nothing, so hungry. You have a job for Grumblejack??" He smiles the most sympathetic monstrous smile he can.
DM Omen
~Argan Morning 3~
You can tell thi sis William. His face is on posters over half of town.
Argan Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
William looks at you, glancing at your arms. He sits down and lowers his voice to a regular volume. "Well Grumblejack, we are still setting the stage and that constitutes lifting some heavy things. We could pay you a small amount to come help us set up and take down, although this is a very temporary job. Unless you plan to travel with us?"
Vladamir Orlovsky
Morning Day 3
Vlad would again hang out around the tavern, taking not of Bellam's daily activities.. He wants to have a good feel for what the man does on a daily basis so this will probably happen for a few days..
Argan Midnight
~Argan Morning 3~
Grumblejack lifts and shakes his hands:
"No no, this is temporary job! Jack need to go back to tribe, but no food. No long job. So he talks to you! The money is enough for box of food?"
Although Argan likes dangerous provocations, using Grumblejack full name might attract unwanted coincidences he doesn't want to deal with right now, since he already got kinda busted the previous day. So he just say Jack as if realizing he's got a shorter name, stupid one.
Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up*
~Kharn Morning 3~
Kharn will be in his wood elf disguise and he will stay close to Vlad and ask his opinion on Kharn's plan to get rid of the dwarfs.
Plan: Have someone pose as a rich merchant (Eryan or Argan), and then after Kharn has once again challenged the dwarf leader to a drinking contest (so he can try and win back his title) the merchant claims that the leader of the dwarfs is running a thieving ring and that two dwarfs almost robbed him/her. Then the guards will take the dwarfs away with their leader unable to do much since he will be rolling around drunk (hopefully). Get the dwarfs convicted, and thrown out of town before the can finish their repairs (Note: Before trail someone needs to procure a Potion of Non-detection, so that the merchant can avoid divination magic).
Vladamir Orlovsky
Vlad Evening 3 Continue to watch Bellam..
Vlad Night 3 Talk to Goodie about crafting a poison to put on all the spare rations in the hidey hole.. Also consult with the group about whats going on and what the next move should be.. Obviously more trips into the tower using the secret passageway are in order.. There has to be more stuff to sabotage in there..
Vladamir Orlovsky
Vlad Morning 3
As he watches Bellam VLad will discuss Kharns plan to get rid of the dwarfs with him..
"Its very risky to have one of our people it.. How bout instead we have Argan actually steal something from a merchant here in town and plant it in the dwarfs things.. All thats needed then is a little rumor started that the dwarfs stole from said merchant.. Guards show up to search the dwarfs and whola they are caught and none of our people have to get involved.."
Argan Midnight
~Argan Morning 3~
"Jack need something soon. When is performance?" He hears the answer he already knows and agrees, asking where is he supposed to go, before saying goodbye to the man. "Grumblejack say thank you! Now Jack looks for something to do now." And he walks out, realizing that they got a very freaking good opportunity on their hands.
Have you watched Inglorious Bastards folks?
Great, now just because I'm the rogue I'm a thief? ^_^
Goodie Thornmaple
Goodie Morning Day 3:
"Busy hands are virtuous hands, love." Bubbe breaks out an granny grin her skin as wrinkled as an old apple. "Thank you for helping me with this. Aside from the coin, sometimes I think staying busy -- being useful to somebody -- is all that keeps me getting up in the mornings. As they say, get busy living or get busy dying."
Argan Midnight
~Argan Morning 3~
The rogue will assume a new disguise for this afternoon's task. Grumblejack is too dumb to for the task. He is going to pass for a commoner, probably similar to one of the sailors he spent so much time with. 5'6", strong enough for assist someone in sailing, or in building, and looking 25-30 years old, with dark brown hair and eyes. He has something of a smartass, but doesn't really get the jokes right. Probably a failed gambler, one would bet. He will rent another room with this alias and leave it paid for one week (with none of his belongings there), so he could go upstairs and come out later as Grumblejack, if needed, and no one would notice (he always took precautions, of course).
He walks around town in the evening, without any visible equipment aside from a short sword and a chain shirt worn under his traveler's clothes. He will look for people on the taverns (preferably not on the one he's staying), cause the drunk may find it easier to believe the truth he's about to let slip. Argan handpicks his subjects to speak with, watching to be sure they are not guards off duty, since that could spoil his plans. They can't be overheard, since that could cause a commotion and point him as the spreader, demanding he denounce the guilty Donnagin. This will have to be one person at a time.
He approaches one guy who was sitting at the bench and drinking alone, complaining to the rogue about his own life and the situation around town. "Everything is falling apart and they are organizing a presentation! What a waste" - the rogue agrees. He will be spontaneously work the conversation to cover Hoaxes one and two, but most importantly, when the man is loose and trusting Argan, he will work towards Grand Hoax 3 (It also may happen if the man brings up the subject, which is normal, but he will avoid telling it in the beginning of the conversation). "Did you hear about Mad Martin? Yeah, a causality. I mean, the man was crazy, it seems, but in that situation either way he would be screwed." He caught the predictable confusion in the man's eyes and continues. "What, you haven't heard?" He looks at all sides to guarantee there's no one on listening distance, tilts closer to the man, and lowers his voice so not even the barman could hear it. "Mad Martin received news early in the night. The raven carried an order to arrest and execute Donnagin, cause they finally were able to prove that he is a follower of Asmodeus."
He pauses, making the most dead serious face ever, and looks around again, continuing. "Then I'm not sure what happened, but the watch has two theories. Either Mad Martin threw himself out of the window, which is not impossible but highly unlikely, or he called Donnagin to make sure the news were true, and the priest killed poor Martin. But you see, the guards on duty say Donnagin never showed up at the tower. But how could then the first message be missing? They got in the room and it was on fire, and Martin was already dead on the ground level. So they thought: Suicide! But then, another raven came later, probably a double, sent to guarantee its arrival, and they found out about Donnagin's sentence... I'll tell you, the man is being protected by many inside that tower, or he would have burned already... He takes a sip of his Ale. "We already suspected that, right? I mean, the man was banned to Balentyne for a reason (Rumor 11), but why did no one knew it? Corruption, my friend!" He waits until the man makes the obvious question, and uses the opportunity for his master exit! "What? How do I know this? My cousin serves here, maybe you know him, M..." - he pretends to not realize the importance of the revelation until later in the phrase, then his eyes goes wide, as he almost revealed the name of his cousin!!! (OMG!!) He suddenly pretends to keep even a lower profile, speaking in barely a whisper. "You didn't hear that from me, hun?" He gives the man a threatening glare, leaves a few coins over the balcony to pay for both drinks and leaves with light steps.
We will look for some water somewhere else, since he drunk almost a full mug of Ale and cannot have his mind confused by it, although it adds to the role. So he spends half an hour walking, to make sure he is new, before doing that again, similarly but different. And in another tavern or proper place.
I'm calling my rumors by Hoaxes, to avoid confusion with the other rumors.
Eryan Duskwalker
Eryan goes to get a good look at the house and tries to find out if Kaitlyn leaves the house at all. He watches the house for the morning and also in the evening if he might learn more, especially wondering if she is visited anytime by her 'friend'. If he does not see her visited then he also stakes out the house at night just in case.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 OR take 20 on perception if I can = 23

"Vlad Morning 4"
Vlad will gather his group into his room for discussion of what was accomplished so far and what other plans were being made up to the stupid play.. "I think we should head back into the castle tonight and see what we can do to sabatoge the work the dwarfs are doing to the watchtower.. I also wouldn't mind checking in on the Tacitus and whatever this unatural thing is he's been working on.. Could be useful.. I've been spending a lot of time watching ole Bellam here and I think I ocould assume his identity.. Not having a chance of being discovered in the secret passage would be nice.. The old fart could very well have additional information for us.. Might have to pull a nail or 2.."
Argan Midnight
I just realized my previous action of rumorspreading was made during the afternoon, as in the sheet, not during the morning.
~Argan Night 3~
Argan will search in a library, or study the gossip around town further, regarding rumor #9. He wants to understand what did they do years ago that they don't now. It might be used in their favor, for sure.
~Argan Morning 4~
Argan is along with everyone, still disguised as a commoner. "I don't think anyone else knows about that secret passage, Vlad, or they would have sealed it shut several years ago, for the danger it poses, but it's good to have someone disguise as one of the guards. Goodie have a plan to do something about Tacitus, so I would just let her be. We have time. Here's our status:"
#1 - The entrance is free to everyone who wants. Donnagin paid for it all. We should prevent this play from happening, or use it in our favor.
#2 - Stuck. I don't know what else to do aside from keeping away from it. We should gather info of what those archons are to kill them in the right time.
#3 - Mad Martin is dead.
#4 - Ignored so far. We need to find out what has Havelyn done.
#5 - Eryan caught Zach cheating Moss.
#6 - Goodie will try to get to Tacitus.
#7 - Argan got a backstage job as a the play.
#8 - Spreading opposite rumor. Will be done in a week.
#9 - Ignored. We should study this more.
#10 - Kharn is doing something
#11 - Ignored. We have to something to find out what.
#12 - Vlad is ready to assume Bellam's identity if needed.
#13 - Eryan found Zack Eddarly f%+&ing Katlyn Moss. We might use this wisely.
#14 - Goodie is infiltrated in the castle every monday!
#15 - Might use to arrest the dwarves.
#16 - Ignored so far. Havelyn needs to be dealt with.
#17 - Ignored.
#18 - Soldiers number found!
#19 - Ignored. We should try to intercept them and kill.
#20 - Ignored.
#21 - Structure failure (secret passage) found!
Extra stuff:
#22 - Arrows on the second floor of the tower.
#23 - Tons of food on the underground of the tower.
Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up*
Kharn will be doing nothing more on day 3 than just informing everybody else about his plan for the dwarfs and seeing what they can offer to it.
~Kharn Morning 4~
Kharn nods at Vlad's suggestion.
"I can help out with that I have nothing better to be doing right now until someone who is better equipped than I decides to deal with the dwarfs."
Argan Midnight
~Argan Morning 4~
"How could anyone be better equipped than you? Don't you have a greatsword?" Very funny Argan, very funny. "If you manage to get the dwarves out of town we can just kill them. Otherwise we plant some stolen goods on their camp and call the cops. How long will the repairs still take? And what exactly are they repairing?"
Goodie Thornmaple
Goodie spends her evenings enchanting for the group and establishing her presence as Alexandros. She isn't doing anything particularly exciting but her plan is about long term payoffs. She advises that towards the end of the month that all the rations be destroyed.
Eryan Duskwalker
"I agree with sewing more chaos in the castle. I have a plan for the two captains and Kaitlyn. Leave them to me." He grins evily.
Morning 4, Eryan once again watches the House discreetly to see how often Zach comes to visit. He watches all day if he has to. Stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up*
~Kharn Morning 4~
Kharn questions Vlad about his plans for the future.
"Do you want to assume his identity now or at some later date?"
Vladamir Orlovsky
"I've been watching him now for a few days.. I feel confident I could assume his identity if need be, but for now I think we can leave him in place.. Only thing that bothers me is he was hesitant to give more information on Miss Motts, which means he knew more he just wouldn't tell me. What else does he know? Could be any number on things that would aid us is dismantling this place.. That is why im considering taking him anyways and seeing what he has to say.."
Argan Midnight
~Morning 4~
Argan have an idea about the dwarves. "Is everyone free tonight? Let's suppose those dwarves are not working at night, right? I need we all gathered and hidden somewhere out of town. I'll deliver a note to the dwarves before lunch, hoping to attract them, or at least the leader, towards our trap. I'm not sure it will work out, but either way we need to try. It would not do to kill them inside town, and I'm nothing the time to steal and plant something important enough for the militia to arrest them. What do you say?"
The note that Argan will drop in Barnabus' chambers if everyone agrees:
The guy who beat you in drinking cheated.
He needs to be taught a lesson.
Meet us at .......* when the sun sets.
I purposely wrote "us" in the note, so he would see first thing that I won't be alone, so he will bring all his troupe.
*Is there any appropriate place to our little ambush, Omen? A forest or cave, maybe?
Argan Midnight
Hopefully we will run into Captain Varning's Rangers after it, then ^_^ kill two bunnies with a single swing...
Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up*
"Very well that's what we will do."
Kharn will spend the rest of his day getting ready and when the appropriate time comes he will be in a different disguise. One of a scrawny looking man.
DM Omen
~Argan Night 3~
Argan sneaks into the castle, but much to his disappointment finds that the rumor about the lazy guards was just hearsay. The guards appear very organized, in fact they seem extremely organized with a clear chain of command and good morale.
~Argan Evening 4~
Argan sneaks his way into Barnabus's room, and much to his surprise finds a detailed map of the fort. He makes a quick copy of the map, then leaves the note and gets out.
~Vlad Evening 4~
Vlad goes in disguise and drops a hint to the angry dwarf, who hisses a few choice words in dwarven and thanks Vlad for the information.
~Eryan Day 4~
Eryan sees the captain visits Kaitlyn about every other day, if her attitude and his appearances are anything to guess by. Kaitlyn keeps herself busy tending a garden and knitting-a more boring life you could not imagine.
~Goodie Service Work~
Goodie runs a few errands around the kitchen and spends most of the time helping with spices, but more importantly learns details about a few rooms. However her knowledge is overshadowed when Argan produces a map of the entire fort. Luckily she still has daytime access to the building.
~Everybody Night 4~
Tell me how you plan to set up for the dwarves. You're fairly certain Barnabus is angry enough to take the bait.
Argan Midnight
~Night 4~
Something like this.
Argan will lit up a fire and wait for the visitors, sitting up on a log at the border of the woods. His disguise shows only a dagger at his belt, but he have both his sabres with him, aside from the rest of the combat equipment.
Position yourself as you wish, unless Omen is going to make a different map.
Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up*
Night 4
Kharn will be sitting there in the form of his half-elf ranger.
Eryan Duskwalker
Eryan hides in the trees. Floating himself up into one of the large ones. Not before preparing everyone with his deflection magic. Shield of faith for everyone. +2 AC for 4 mins
Goodie Thornmaple
Goodie will ask Eryan to take her up into the trees as well.
"I don't want to be in the way when these big strapping boys start knocking heads together."
She will cast Mage Armor and Bless. Everyone gets a +1 to their attack rolls for 4 minutes.
She will be disguised as the bartender.
Vladamir Orlovsky
I moved yall into the trees..
Vald will take to the trees as well, using the brush to his advantage..
Taking 10 on Stealth in my Fullplate gives him a 15 + whatever bonuses your allowing for the brushy cover..
Vlad will detect good as the dwarves approaches.. He readies his heavy crossbow.. He will disguise himself as a butch girl in fullplate..
DM Omen
After an hour or so of waiting, sure as the nine hells Barnabus shows up with two of his dwarf friends in tow. He looks red in the face and angry, and upon seeing the two sitting in the open he marches forward. "So what is tha big idea with tha cheatin' and whatnot?! I ought ta show somebody a bloody lesso..." He stops, staring off into the trees towards Vlad while the other two dwarves look at Goodie. His face turns from rage to suspicion and controlled anger. He draws his greatsword, his two friends drawing the warhammers at their belts. If there was any humor left in his voice before, it is all gone now. "By Mitra, you sneakin' bastards. Explain yourselves."
Dang, good perception checks plus darkvision. If you guys want to go strait to combat than the only person who gets to act in the surprise round is Eryan, who is the only one they haven't spotted.
