Male Human Cleric of Sarenrae

Round 1
Round 1 technically began with Zey's casting of slow.

Shohiraj waits a moment for Rataji to counter Zey's magics and leaps the pressure plate, moving ever-closer to the wizard. I got you as close as I could.

Joliryn spends a moment giving herself the gift of invisibility.

Gazwyr Will: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Gazwyr charges the wizard in-flight and attempts to bite him...
Gazwyr Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 191d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
...leaving a vicious bite-mark on his arm.

Gazwyr:
Will Save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Something wasn't quite right about your attack... you're beginning to think this Aram Zey is an illusion.

Marnarius creates a pathway for the party to safely traverse the pressure plate.

322's spectral hand touches Zey, leaving him in a state of paralysis.

322:
Will Save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Something wasn't quite right about your attack... you're beginning to think this Aram Zey is an illusion.

End Round 1

Current turn order is: Aram Zey, Rataji (Hasted x7), Shohiraj, Joliryn (Invisible), Gazwyr (Hasted x7), Marnarius, and 322 (Hasted x7).

Round 2

Aram Zey assesses the oncoming onslaught.

"Rataji, after all of your education and studies, you make the fool decision to come here? Let us make the mentality match the action performed."

Aram Zey concentrates on his spell and casts it toward Rataji.

Rataji:
DC 22 Will Save, please. The spell is feeblemind.

Quote:
Rataji and 322, please note that you are "behind" the rest of the party... the map wasn't long enough to facilitate a three-deep lineup.

Current turn order is: Aram Zey (Done for Round 2), Rataji (Hasted x7), Shohiraj, Joliryn (Invisible), Gazwyr (Hasted x7), Marnarius, and 322 (Hasted x7).

Map updated.

By my own imperfect calculations, if Joliryn crossed the diagonal safety plank over the westernmost edge of the now-revealed trap, then I would place her at directly 1 square west of the northerly-most, west-ward edge of the velvet ropes and brass poles. Or, directly four squares south of the empty spot between the Northern-most Crossbow Armor and the Soft Chair. Or even, 3 squares to the west of 322 plus 1 square south at the very western edge of those 3 squares. ;)

Wrong Way on a One Way Track... to pain:

She stops, casts a spell and looks around, starting by looking overhead above Zey and the others.

After 322 moves past Marnarius as he barely had enough time to drop the newly assembled plank into position so that the Forlorn Elf could safely enter the library, the grizzled old cuss half-expected the crazy Forlorn to utilize that special lantern of hers. Instead, 322's act of casting a ghostly hand which claws in turn at Zey leaves Marnarius standing momentarily slack-jawed. Just what is that damn crazy forlorn doing!?

Luckily, the Dragon seems to have reached that accursed Paaathfinder wizard Zey earlier by flying over to him and judging by it's own vicious bites to Zey, Marnarius reckons that Zey won't be lasting too much longer.

Unfortunately, events would prove the grizzled mean cuss wrong as Zey nonchalantly does some sort of magical whammy upon the Leader, causing Rataji to babble nonsensically. That can't be right! Even a Wizard like Zey should've had to dodge around the likes of Gazwyr... why didn't that blasted overgrown green-lizard try to bite Zey again while he was doing all that magicking? Something's gotta be up to no-good!.

Staring at the now babbling Rataji, Marnarius briefly considers taking out the folding ladder but decides against it. "You'd be better off staying back over here if'n that waggling of Zey's got you real good there.", the grizzled old cuss says to the Leader in as clear and enunciated a voice as Marnarius could manage. Hopefully, our Leader can still understand that much but if'n he can't- then we're in a whole heap of trouble!.

Turning back in the direction of the much hated Zey to witness Shohiraj trying to sap the Paaathfinder wizard, Marnarius barely hears the unseen footsteps of the Halfling Artist crossing into the library.

Perception to hear Joliryn crossing the plank, if she did so: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27.

Guessin' that's everyone accounted for excepting for our now-crippled Leader and me. Better get me on inside there too...

Marnarius gingerly crosses upon the plank and takes care to not step foot upon any part of the carpet on the ground. Eventually the grizzled old cuss is directly west of where invisible Joliryn would be if she could be seen, which she can't since she's all invisible now. That would be Marnarius' move action.

Now where can I get me a clear shot at that damned Paaathfinder wizard? Ain't much of one where I'm at now.... Marnarius' gaze falls upon the encased enclosure of the glowing Sky-Key Armillary. On second thought, if'n I could just grab me that there glowy thing.... Quickly drawing out his wooden club, Marnarius throws it at the glass case holding the Sky Key.

Throwing club at case holding the Sky Key: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18

damage to glass case, if applicable: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7.

Marnarius, Human Male Slayer 7 ¦ HP 19/67 ¦ AC 20 (TAC 12, FFAC 18) ¦ Fort 9, Ref 9, Will 7 ¦ Init 2 ¦ Perc 11 ¦ CMB 12, CMD 24 ¦ Speed 30'

Depending on what happens next with Gazwyr and the glass case containing the Sky Key, Marnarius will end his second round staring dumbfoundedly at 322 as she babbles on in some strange unknown language.

I knew that blasted, crazy Forlorn ain't right in her head; that damned lantern of her's probably some sort of fake too!

Also, not sure if doing that perception to hear Joliryn crossing counts as an action; it was meant more as a passive perception sort of thing rather than an active- but if it did count, then just have Marnarius do his club-tossing at the glass case holding the Sky Key in the next round (if the grizzled old cuss is still standing and/or breathing, that is). ;)

And if Gazwyr decides to bring up any mention of illusions on his turn, Marnarius' own thoughts as he crosses into the library would be retconned into something like Now where am I supposed to go and suss out some hidden damn wizard..., with little change to his thoughts on striking the glass case, of course.

Round 2 (Continued)

Round 2 began with Zey casting a spell on Rataji.

Rataji, seemingly stricken dumb, stands slack-jawed at the room's threshold.

Rataji:
For reference: the spell states "[the creature] knows who its friends are and can follow them and even protect them." Also, creatures of animal-level instinct have Intelligence scores of 1 or 2. Scary things are happening, so I can understand if you don't want to go in the room. Your friends might get hurt, so I can understand if you do want to go in the room.

Shohiraj moves in behind Gazwyr and attempts to sap Aram, but his magical wards seem to make her sap veer once it closed to within six inches.

???: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Joliryn closes in on Aram Zey. Given the positioning of the plank, your mileage "varied" this round.

Gazwyr turns his attention from Zey. "He's not here! This is a fake!" Gazwyr takes flight. [b]"He's... he's... he's... there's something on the balcony above the gruff-man!"

Gazwyr:
Your blindsense tells you that there is some type of creature on the balcony directly above where Marnarius stands. I have moved you in to engage.

Gazwyr flies back toward the entrance and snaps at seemingly thin-air...
Gazwyr Bite: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 1 = 161d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 91d100 ⇒ 87
...clamping down on nothing.

Marnarius hears the news, moves across the plank into the room I couldn't quite follow where you wanted to be placed Marnarius, so I did the best I could... for whatever reason I couldn't make 30 feet plus that plank do what you were suggesting, but it's early still, and heaves a club into the glass case.

The glass shatters with a spectacular crash, leaving the Sky Key exposed. A visible ripple rushes across the room, leaving the various timepieces and clocks in a state of disarray, either slowing to a standstill or clicking like a metronome.

Everything within 20 feet of the Sky Key, approximately the area of the red circle (I'm not dragging out templates), is under the effects of a time shudder spell. If you begin your turn within 20' of the Sky Key, roll a d100. On a result of 1-50, you are slowed (per the spell slow) for a round. On a result of 51-100, you are hasted (per the spell haste) for a round. These effects do not stack, though may dispel current abilities you are using.

322 turns her attention from Aram Zey and seems to stare off into the distance.

322:
You detect the presence of magical aura/s to the east.

End Round 2

Current turn order is: Aram Zey, Rataji (Hasted x6, Feebleminded), Shohiraj, Joliryn (Invisible), Gazwyr (Hasted x6), Marnarius, and 322 (Hasted x6, Detecting Magic).

Round 3

Gazwyr:
Your blindsense suggests the creature has stepped away from you, and a low voice, in draconic, addresses you: "The rumors of dragons in the tapestry are true, then. You waste your freedom on these miscreants? You will not live long enough to regret the decision."

Aram Zey seems to stand still, ignoring the presence of Shohiraj.

322:
Since you are looking in that direction and attempting to listen, I'll give you a spellcraft check as a voice begins casting next to the dragon...
322 Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
...but you're not quite able to identify it.

In spite of geometry, 322 is the only PC subject to the time shudder effects.

Current turn order is: Aram Zey (Done for Round 3), Rataji (Hasted x6, Feebleminded), Shohiraj, Joliryn (Invisible), Gazwyr (Hasted x6), Marnarius, and 322 (Hasted x6, Detecting Magic, Time Shudder).

Map updated.

GM:
Yep, but as a wizard with no spellcasting I consider it wise to not get into any more trouble. In my current state the best I can do is a bad touch or light crossbow +4: not many tools to remedy the situation.

Rataji stays outside the library, his former brilliance now absent. "Tghemqiutzxonj-aah..."

No worries about the positioning, the important part was that Marnarius was in range to throw that club against the display case holding the Sky Key. -1 club and folding plank to the inventory list. :)

Hearing from Gazwyr about the viewable Zey not being the real one, Marnarius enters the library to ostensibly help in locating where Zey might be hidden at. Seeing that the dragon has already made a beeline towards some other area that could plausibly hold Zey and spying the Sky Key sitting in the case seemingly unprotected, the grizzled old cuss decides to toss his club at the case. When the glass shattered and all the weird magical effects start to happen, Marnarius then decides against going over to grab that Key on Rataji's behalf. Damn it all and be hanged! If'n our Leader really wants that blasted key, he can go over and get it himself! Ain't no way I'm touching that thing without a blacksmith's tong!

Leaving his discarded club to lay where it currently rests amidst all of the shattered glass shards upon the floor nearest to the pedestal, Marnarius instead opts to pull out the folding ladder from his backpack and begins to hastily assemble it as a move and standard action. Knew I should of set up that damned ladder in the first place!

MG's Pregen wrote:

Upon hearing more gibberish coming from the doorway, Marnarius belts out with, "I ain't going to touch that damned crazy contraption- get someone else to do that!", only a bit more expletive-filled.

Glancing over at where Rataji is and then over to where 322 is standing stock still at, Marnarius chokes down another round of choice expletives under his breath. No wonder that forlorn stopped ghost-pawing that fake Zey. Whatever she's got planning, it better be worth it!

Will stay in the same position on the map as now.

Upon the dragon's warning of Zey staying near to his illusory twin, Marnarius finds himself standing with the now fully completed folding ladder in hand; the grizzled mean cuss starts to feel kind of stupid just standing there holding up the ladder all by his lonesome as it stands propped up with the upper portion raised in midair at full height and extension.

Depending on if/when Joliryn's able to nail unseen Zey with that glitterdust, Marnarius would unceremoniously drop that ladder aside when Zey is visible and attack with the longbow.

If not, and Rataji decides to mumble out some more garbled words in the meantime, Marnarius will look at the ladder, then at the sky key, then move forward to the pedestal. At 5-10 feet away, Marnarius will then try to knock the sky key from the pedestal using the ladder to touch it.

In all fairness, Marnarius was expecting to see Zey blasted out of existence by 322's "super-lantern of doom"; instead what he got was 322 babbling in an unknown language, Rataji just plain babbling due to Zey, and even that dastardly Zey has gotten into the babbling in an unknown language act (intentionally, because he's a no-good Paaathfinder) with Gazwyr. ;)

Seeing that there is little he could do in dealing with an invisible, flying Zey, Marnarius catches one more round of babbling from where Rataji is at. Tarnations! Half the folk here are babbling off a whole bunch of nonsense- Zey's doing that on purpose though, that no-good Paaathfinder scum!. Heaving an inward sigh, the grizzled old cuss decides upon a different set of response. I reckon that our Leader won't stop a-sqwaking 'til he's got that blasted Sky-Key in his hands...

Marnarius purposefully moves towards the pedestal where the Sky Key is resting on, with ladder in hand and kicking down the brass poles and dividers in his way as he does so. Time Shudder: 1d100 ⇒ 99. His move action that will put him about 5' away from the pedestal or right next to it, if staying 5' away is not doable. +1 to AC and Reflex Saves from the Haste effect.

Marnarius, wary of touching something like the Sky-Key, makes a Perception check to see if it is trapped... Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29. Done as a standard action.

Marnarius will then use the ladder in his hand to place one leg of the ladder thru the armillary frame in order to catch it on that ladder leg and hoist it up, if possible. Not sure what sort of roll I would need for it to be done in round 5. Alternately, Marnarius could try to knock the Key off the pedestal...

Shohiraj grabs her crossbow and tries to find the location of Zey, but can't seem to get a bearing on him.

Round 4 (Continued)

Rataji, through his babbling, drive the point home that the real mission might be less dangerous than the current action.

On Gazwyr... he has blindsense, not to be confused with blindsight. He also has the added difficulty of describing a point in space relative to few fixed points in 6 seconds. :P

Shohiraj scans the area, narrowing the assailant down to north-east of her.
Shohiraj, with your perception check, you can tell there is something invisible to the north-east, but cannot quite pinpoint it per invisibility rules. Given your modifier and that he's actively in combat, it's not outside of your reach. I'll say you're readying that crossbow...?

Joliryn also scans the area, confident that he is close, airborne, and to the north, but not much beyond that.
Joliryn, see above clarification. I imagine you'll be readying a glitterdust?

Gazwyr licks his wounds and charges the assailant...
Gazwyr Charge: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 10 + 2 + 1 = 141d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 51d100 ⇒ 27
...but fails to land the blow.

"He's here! Right in front of me! Here!"

Joliryn uses the information to airburst a glitterdust spell in the area...
Will Save: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27
...coating the assailant in shimmering matter.

With a visible target, Shohiraj fires a shot...
Shohiraj Crossbow: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 171d8 ⇒ 4
...though the shot seems to veer as it approaches.

Please note the change in turn order to compensate for readied/held actions.

Marnarius, improvising with the ladder he just constructed and seeing no discernible traps protecting it, laced a leg within one of the rings of the Sky Key. The rings catch during their slow rotation, attempting to resist the wooden obstruction but failing to do so.
