Round 8
322 concentrates on her scroll, forcing herself to understand its complexities before her life is endangered anymore than it already is, and unleashes its fury on the assailant...
[dice=Assailant Fort]d20+9 Holy sh...
...With a gasp, the assailant falls unceremoniously to the ground.
Combat Over
All thanks to my tactical genius! Seems I was right in telling you to attack, 322! Pfft, and you guys said this would be a TPK...!
To each and every one of you, thank you so very, very much for your participation in this particular PbP. Tonight caps table #141 and special #9 for me, pushing me ever-closer to my fifth star. I don't have a lot of experience with PbP (hope it wasn't too jarring), but it's always great to see people who are invested and, more importantly, having fun.
Rataji, I apologize for taking a lot of your player agency away during the last combat... It's frustrating at a real table and likely even more-so during a PbP. Thank you for sticking with us.
Thank you for running this. Great job GMing. And thank you to all players, it was a pleasure heisting with you.
I'm sure you ran the scenario as written, and natural 1s happen (Aram Zey, also a wizard, also got a natural 1 at a crucial save. Must be karma working).

Also wanted to chime in with my thanks and congrats to everybody involved. And before I forget, Happy Thanksgiving to all. :)
Players: Should I attack, heal or try to wake Marnarius?
322 ultimately made the right choice for the situation. Marnarius was asleep but had that whole time shudder effect going on, so even waking him up would've not done much good. ;)

Your investment into the character and the PbP kept me entertained and motivated to check more frequently than what could be considered healthy human behavior. I'm pretty sure if someone cross-bred MacGuyver and a couponer, your rendition of Marnarius would have fit the bill.
Best wishes on getting your 5th star. :)
Marnarius' whole evil "cowboy-western" bit didn't really gel until a few posts in but once he got going, the easier it was to post all out in that grizzled old cuss style.
Come to think of it though, it kind of occurred to me... what with the whole GI Joe/Cobra inspiration and shout-outs, Marnarius might have been a better fit as a Dreadnok-Outback renegade type but I really can't do an Aussie accent any justice though (hence the evil "cowboy-western" bit).

I have a lot of thank-you's for the GM pertaining to this game. Thanks for letting me join last-second, thanks for running the game, and thank you for the kind words. I honestly felt I hadn't contributed at all until the last two days. Hope to see you all at future tables!
