Aloysious Johari |

ROUND 1
The slayer moves up into closer distance, drawing his blade on the way. As he sets into a fighting stance just behind Zadok, he eyes the shapeshifter carefully Studied Target, and draws his thumb slowly across his throat with a wicked grin at the enemy.
Move + draw, studied target

Deldhindon Duskmere |

Round 1
Deldhindon enters the room to see what the commotion is. Observing the shapeshifter squaring off against the others, he quickly incants the words to bedazzle the creature.
Daze, Will DC 15

![]() |

Will save: 1d20 ⇒ 19
The shapeshifter seems unfazed.

![]() |

Deldhindon realizes that the reason his magic failed was because... the shapeshifter is an illusion! Just as he's about to say something though, the silent image fades.
It's at that point that the arcanist notices that the body on the table before him has changed... into a grey-skinned shifter! There's only time for a moment of dread before it lashes out with a razor-sharp claw.
Claw 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
The powerful strike lays Deldhindon low, and with blood gushing out of a wound the elf drops.
Seizing the opportunity rise, the shapeshifter stands up on the table and hisses angrily!
If Arryn has a weapon out, he has an attack of opportunity.
Round 1
Deldhindon: Daze
Zadok: Shield
Johari: Move and Study
Arryn: Go + AoO
Shifter: Claw!
Wellstone: Go

Dr. Wellstone Quant |

Wellstone moves up with some alarm, straddling the bleeding body of Delhindon, his sword cane in his hand as he moves.
Did not say I had my weapon out, so probably need to take a move action to draw it.

![]() |

Wellstone moves toward the shifter, attacking with the blunt end of his weapon. Unfortunately the things sees the attack coming, easily dodging it.
Round 1
Deldhindon: Daze
Zadok: Shield
Johari: Move and Study
Arryn: Go + AoO
Shifter: Claw!

It was, and I factored that in to the roll. Would have been +8 to hit otherwise

![]() |

Arryn takes a swipe at the creature as it stands with his scimitar.
Attack w/Scimitar: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Despite it being prone, it deftly avoids his curved blade.
When he sees Deldhindon is struck down by the shapeshifter, Arryn steps out of its reach and casts a spell. His left hand glows with a positive energy... an energy he hopes to infuse into the downed elf. Cast Cure Light Wounds

Zadok and Johari both cut deep wounds into the creature while Deldhindon bleeds on the floor.
Arryn steps close to Deldhindon and places a hand on the fallen elf. His wounds begin to close, healing him.
Cure Light Wounds on Deldhindon: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
It's enough, barely, to bring the elf to a weakened state of consciousness. Del is at 0hp, staggered
Seeing Johari as the biggest threat, the shapeshifter lashes out at him with a pair of sharp claw.
Claw 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

Claw 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Ouch.
The power of the grey-skinned monster is undeniable, as it cuts deep furrows into the slayer's exposed areas. He drops to the ground, bleeding profusely!

Zadok Obed Mlaştină |

"Your death draws near." Zadok reverses his upward slash,
trying to retrace his blade's path back to the beginning.

The backswing does its work, and Zadok's blade finds an artery. With a fountain of blood spurting from the wound, the shapeshifter's eyes glaze over and in collapses, falling off the table.
OUT OF COMBAT.

![]() |

Wellstone, Arryn, and Zadok work to frantically stem the blood flow while Deldhindon slowly stands, still a bit shaky. With concerted effort, you're all confident Johari won't bleed to death. For now.
What now guys?

Zadok Obed Mlaştină |

Was this one somehow stronger? "Come let us see what this room contains, that might make the bloodshed worth it. If Desna smiles, there will be healing for our friends."

Zadok Obed Mlaştină |

Zadok pours the potion into his friend's mouth CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
He then takes 20 in the room for 24

![]() |

Zadok thoroughly searches the area. He starts with the shapeshifter, who has:
- a vial with a strange green liquid
- a well-crafted dagger, possibly of masterwork quality
- 48 gold pieces
- a set of keys
Scattered throughout the repurposed laundry room are:
- A set of reasonably well-kept surgeon’s tools
- A haversack with several pockets
- six 10-foot poles
The haversack itself is clearly magical, as well he opens it is... clearly bigger on the inside. It contains:
- a pouch with 3 platinum pieces
- a white pearl
- a tiny box with Pharasmin scripture on it

Zadok Obed Mlaştină |

Zadok does his customary thing, and carefully holds each item, giving thought to its construction and make. "I'm currently unable to detect auras of magic if one of you would be so kind."
These keys may actually be the largest boon here. "AMAZING! A handy haversack. One of my mentors, Heward, told me of these."

Deldhindon Duskmere |

Deldhindon casts Detect Magic and several of the items glow to his newly enhanced vision.
He studies them with a keen eye.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

![]() |

Deldhindon is surprised to see several magical items.
The vial's green liquid glows with a faint aura of conjuration magic. It's purpose eludes him.
The dagger is magically enhanced to be sharp and durable. He knows sometimes there are visible manifestations of this, like a telltale glow, but this one is subtle. dagger +1
The haversack is indeed magical, radiating a moderate amount of conjuration magic. He suspects there are extradimensional aspects to it, but is not familiar with the specifics.
The white pearl has a strong transmutation aura, which he recognizes from past studies. pearl of power (1st)
The box with scripture written over it is a curious item with a faint divination aura. It actually has a leather cord affixed to it, which he suspects is used to attach it like a headband. Though it has clear religious markings, its purpose remains a mystery.

Zadok Obed Mlaştină |

Zadok speaks up, "All of these bring good fortune to the group. I would ask for the pearl, it's make and use fascinates me, but also drastically increases my power. I'll not be greedy though if someone makes a case for it."
The occultist then grabs the surgeons tools and appraises them:
Appraise: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

![]() |

The surgeon's tools live up to their name, and are worth about twenty gold pieces.
Mechanically, they're straight out of Ultimate Equipment. When used in conjunction with a healer's kit, surgeon's tools raise the kit's bonus to a +3 circumstance bonus on Heal checks to treat wounds or deadly wounds.

Aloysious Johari |

Johari is still punc-drunk, but he grasps the dagger and holds it and his sword in a competent grip. He makes a few quick stab/slash moves, and nods approvingly. A good blade
im better off with just sword for now, but once we level I can 2-weapon, then my having the dagger would be great...

Zadok Obed Mlaştină |

"Take the blade Johari. And the head."
Zadok moves back into the hall. He motions both to a closed door and towards the paranoid few. The implication is clear that he's fine with either choice.

![]() |

A quick bot for Arryn based on Slack...
Arryn steps forward and takes the pearl of power. He closes his eyes and draws the energy from the item, restoring some of his prepared magic. With a nod, he walks over to Johari and places a hand on him. Instantly there's a flow of healing energy into the big man.
Cure Light Wounds on Johari: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Recap post
Several wide tables and gigantic washbasins fill a laundry equipped to service hundreds. The place looks as though it were repurposed as a failed surgery, though, with at least one table heaped with remains while corpses lie discarded in corners. A stained sheet hangs between two of the basins, previously dividing the room until it was pulled back. A lantern shines on the far side. You've searched the room thoroughly, and have found a few odds and ends. A number of them are magical even. Tracker spreadsheet updated based on what you know of the items.
Johari and Deldhindon are both battered and bruised, though you have slain another shapeshifter. That makes two. You suspect that it might take the head of one more to convince the people behind the barricade that you mean them no ill will...

Zadok Obed Mlaştină |

Zadok looks around, keenly aware that these walls hold horrible and shadowed secrets. In time, the light of reason will cast the shadows out.
For now survival is key. "Despite my misgivings, we ought to continue on. One more head ought to show the timid that we are no foes to them." He looks at each of his fellow amnesiacs, "If fortune shines on us, we may find boons before bane. Come let us continue to search."
In place on map.

![]() |

You all head back down the hall, Zadok leading the way to a door. With a tentative movement, he opens the door. Map updated
Mighty iron boilers crowd here, their pipes piercing the walls and ceiling. Shadows and rust fill the narrow gaps between the cold tanks.
Zadok catches what he thinks is a brief flicker of light under the far boiler...

Zadok Obed Mlaştină |

"What have we in here?" Blade drawn, Zadok enters cautiously, sticking to the north wall and pointing to the source of the light.
Map updated.

Zadok and Johari both move forward to look under the boilers. Johari spots what he thinks is a sunrod when several two large rats emerge as well as... another rat?
