Nsizi handed over the little monkey, a little reluctantly, to the sheriff. "Also, one of the creatures we fought was somebody that came over with us on the Kaava Cutter. I did not learn his name, but it will be in the list, I suppose."
Tag Adaela?
Muhdzuzi said the whole area between the rivers was his territory, but that he would show us where they were camped at last. I don't think that got put on the map yet.
The half-orc replied as if there was no doubt. "We catch our food."
Nsizi smiled at Bufi's confidant answer. "Yes, but we should bring some rations, just in case. Also, we will need to bring food for the horses."
Fabian, can you remind us how long it takes to explore each hex? That will help us decide how long we'll be out there.
Fabian Benavente
Each hex on the map requires 8 hours to cross thanks to the rugged terrain (or 5 hours on horseback), and 2 full days to completely explore (1 day on horseback).
I also updated the map to show the suspected Song'o tribe location and the shipwreck.
Muhdzuzi is coming with us, right?
Muhdzuzi was eager to get started, "I can trap and hunt on the way as well, although hunting takes time sometimes."
He looked at the horses outside in dismay. Noting that there were only four beasts, he asked, "So, will I have to walk beside you all?"

Nsizi shook his head. "As you are small, and I am light, I thought we could ride together. As we will leave you with your tribe, it didn't make sense to borrow another pony. Do you mind riding together?"

Looking at the map, Nsizi said, "We will need to go back a small ways to get to where Muhdzuzi's people are. Let us plan for 2 weeks, to be safe. We can check on the Dika plantation first, then find Muhdzuzi's people, then go north to the tar pits. If nothing is there, we can then go west. Agreed?"

Min would be happy to spend some money on tents, rations, etc., but I'm not entirely clear on what's being provided for us or what level of granularity we're aiming at in this campaign. I.e, if we're going to be away two weeks, do we need to specify that we're buying fourteen days of rations and bringing two full waterskins per person per day, or else we're going to spend time hunting for food and fresh water, or are we going to handwave the nitty-gritty details?

Action 2
Min frowned as they approached the plantation, having the same queasy feeling in the pit of her stomach that she did when they approached the fort with its gates smashed in. That much damage done ... shouldn't someone be out here assessing or working to repair it? Or at least have come out at some point since the storm to throw an old sail or something over the hole in the roof? She reined in her horse, preferring extended observation to an expeditious arrival. "Does this look wrong to anyone else?" she asked, just loud enough to carry the distance between the mounted party.

"Does this look wrong to anyone else?"
The half-orc nodded. "It's definitely odd that there's no one around working." Zeljka dismounted and secured her horse. "I'll take a look around the building."
Are there any other outbuildings on the property? Silos, sheds, barn?
Zeljka will quietly approach the cabin, peek in any windows, check for traps on any door, and if everything checks out, she'll attempt to go inside.
stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 However if she does find a trap, she'd prefer to take 10 or 20 if possible but if you want me to roll then let me know

Oh no, I don't micromanage in my games. I would only keep track of resources if it promoted RP opportunities. If for example, you guys were traveling in a 'desert' then I would keep track of water.
For this exploration, I'll assume you either brought food or have hunted/gathered so don't worry about and just concentrate on the RPing. :)
No sheds or other buildings in the 'plantation'.
I'll wait for someone else to post before moving this forward.

The door was closed but unlocked. A single room made up most of the interior, save for a large storage closet in the far corner. The furniture inside the cabin was upended and everything was wet from the rains that entered through the broken roof.
There was a large puddle of muddy water in front of the closet from which a feeble voice called for help...
_____________
The muddy puddle is actually a type of ooze.
Zeljka Greenfoot
I think only Zeljka is inside.
Zeljka could hear a voice calling for help. It could be a trap but she couldn't take that chance in case it was the sheriff's cousin.
Remembering Min's words, the half-orc whispers, "All the furniture is tossed and there's a big puddle in front of the closet. Someone's calling for help so I'm going to go search the closet."

Zeljka doesn't have knowledge, dungeoneering so unless you allow a different knowledge or allow her to roll unskilled or another skill entirely then it's not going to happen...
Minercuria Cicensis
"The place looks ransacked, and someone's calling for help from inside the closet," Min passed on Zeljka's information to the others. "Zeljka," she whispered back through her arcane connection to the half-orc, "ask who it is before you open the door. We're on our way."
Judging that Zeljka might need reinforcements, she gestured to the others to approach the house with her.
Min will go as far as the door but not enter the house yet.
Fabian Benavente
Zeljka raised her voice to carry throughout the cabin. "Who's in the closet? Are you hurt?"
A weak voice croaked from inside the closet, "It's me, Jheri. Thank the Lady you are here."
The voice sounded scared, "Is it gone?"
_____________
@Zelkja, are you next to the closet? If not, what distance? Any other precautions?
@everyone: please give me two rounds worth of actions. I would say you are 60' away from the house.
Zeljka Greenfoot
Zeljka hasn't gotten to the closet yet. Still in the process of making her way there. Unsure of distance.
Zeljka stopped at looked around at Jheri's question. "Is what gone? I don't see anyone."

Zeljka will have drawn her weapon but no other precautions because there's nothing to see as far as she knows.

Zeljka involuntarily took a step backwards as the creature manifested before her. Quickly recovering, the half-orc moved forward and brought her weapon down on the amoeboid creature.

She hoped that she was targeting the thing's head as her falchion sliced through, what was it...ooze, skin, cartilage? Whatever it was, it was a threat and the slayer could deal with threats.

I am here. Was camping with scouts and then internet was down some at the house. Now playing catch up again .
Oz spent the time traveling talking to his new companions and generally getting to know each. At the sight of the plantation he powered up his shield, taking a point of burn doing so. No reason really for him not to do this at the start of every day he is not inside the town as this lasts all day. Ac is up 3
When he hears the sound of combat coming from the hut Oz ducked inside and when he saw the creature he moved for a clear shot and fired a bolt of cold at it.

Since we don't have either one of those, this ought to be a cakewalk. ;)
"It's a jelly!" Min cried, probably almost entirely unhelpfully, considering the audience. She approaches near enough to fire an Acid Dart at the ooze.
Move 4 squares east, Acid Dart (ranged touch attack) 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Oops, I could have recapped last night but I didn't see Oz's post.
I think Oz posted the first part (which said 'I'll post later') and then added the rest to the 'same' post.
Please don't do this because the additional post (EDITS) won't show up as a new post. If you take more than 5 minutes to edit your post, please just post a new one. That way I know when something new has been posted.
No biggie but please keep that in mind because it's happened to me more than once. :(
I intend to move things along today.

I don't think that worked but if it did, let me know and I'll write something.

"I ... don't know!" Min shouted back helplessly. "Try something else!" She pointed a finger at the jelly trying to engulf Zeljka, and a glowing mote sped unerringly into the yellow ooze. Then she retreated toward the door. "Nsizi! Whatever you do, don't cut it!"

Nsizi cried out as Zeljka went limp. Dropping his iwisa, he stepped forward and reached his hands into the slimy jelly surrounding his friend. The substance stung and burned, but he grief his teeth and kept pushing through it until he made contact with Zeljka's arm.
"Hold on, Bufi," he said. "I've got you." calling on the spirits, he prayed that she wouldn't die.

You may want to rethink that action because the ooze is on Zelkja and will probably do more damage unless it is a) killed or b) Zelkja pulled away.
Stabilizing should be the least of your worries right now.

We have another suckerplayer join us, an old RP friend actually.
Sir Longears (aka GM Advocate and GM Thing) will play a ranger/scout/archer.
We'll have the PCs come back to town after dealing with Gheri and picking up the goo that used to be Zerlkja. :)
Would someone like to volunteer to write up a brief summary of the story so far?
I'm only thinking of bullet items of the major events...
