No, not eaten. But I am a wee bit stuck on the question of what Haka can usefully do at this moment.
Would Talon like to be struck by a sling stone? Or perhaps shocked with my zapper-sword? I don't see a useful way that I can attack the grubules or protect Rohini, other than my music, which I'm already a-playin'.

The Elusive Trout |

Noted. I think I can also safely assume Drovya's going to throw holy water at the creatures, and Talon will do what any sane person would do in his position and run away, at which point I assume the creatures will get acid'd. If they survive, they try to maul Rohini, who gets an AoO that won't effect them. If not, they rather die. Is this what we're looking at?

Rohini Soni |

That all sounds about right. I'm going to be traveling through Sunday, so my ability to check on the game will be sporadic at best. You can bot Rohini if necessary. She'll try to get away, heal any ability damage with spells or her wand (or, even better, see if the yamah can help her). If it looks like the party doesn't have other means to finish the grubs off, I guess she'll channel again, but she'd rather save her channels.

Haka Thunderfoot |

Anyone webbed? I hope not! Haka, you could Spark the web. I love the smell of roasted rot grubs in the (eternal crepuscular gloom).
That's an interesting idea. Though I think the web is what's keeping the rest of the grubules in their holding tank, so sparking it might do them no damage, but let them out.
Truchita, is that an accurate description?
And did Rohini's channelling have any discernible effect on those still in their unclean aquarium?

The Elusive Trout |

Hard to tell with the web in the way, but the first time it hurt them. Also, their fire resistance would put a damper on the flaming web plan. Gonna update the map when possible, scribbley though it may be. You can move around the web to get to the swarm, Drovya.

Kanthuun |

Did I say month long break? I'm telling you a month in advance! That being said, I will get a month long break, via the California Family Leave Act or something like that. I forget how it works, but I'm taking it, darn it. The way things are, I'll probably be able to post MORE during my time off. ;)

Rohini Soni |

I'm excited for your whole family!
You can participate in (that is, get $$ from) the family leave act as long as you're paying into the regular disability system. For some reason, I pay into some alternate system ("NDI"?), which made me ineligible. That was a bummer.
Now get back to the game. We need spellcraft and knowledge (Arcana) rolls from your mysterious sorcerer!

Talon Skyfall |

I didn't realize that it existed, but happy GM day to you Miss Fish.

Rohini Soni |

Sounds fine to me. Just before we enter combat, effectively in the round before she channels, Rohini will give herself a bit of luck to mitigate against the lousy damage rolls on channeling that have plagued her so far...

Talon Skyfall |

Too bad it only works on d20 rolls which channels aren't. Putting a shield of faith on yourself wouldn't be a bad idea though.

Rohini Soni |

That's right, Talon. Thanks for the reminder.
If you all think it's a good idea, Rohini can cast communal protection from evil. She can use her pearl of power to cast it again later too. If she did that she wouldn't cast shield of faith because that wouldn't stack and would only give her an extra +1 to AC.

Talon Skyfall |

Communal Prot Evil is a good idea actually. Go with that.

Rohini Soni |

Ok. Rohini will cast that and give a minute to each of us before Kanthuun moves in. She'll give the one remaining minute duration to Talon, since she has shield other up with him, although 2 minutes may go by before we hit another encounter.

The Elusive Trout |

Okay. I want to update tonight, later. So go ahead and post your actions in the gameplay thread, yeah? I'll go with the assumed course of action for anyone who doesn't.
In other news, better watch your bare feet. You can get parasites from running around barefoot.
...
Also, rabbits can't digest their food very well.
...
You can get a pillbug to open up by stroking it gently on the center of its back. I used to keep them as pets. Such gentle, sweet creatures...

The Elusive Trout |

Actually, it wasn't. I have a stepsister who swears by it, and I was thinking about running without shoes on a Costa Rican beach when it hit me.
We all know halflings have probably adapted to incorporate said parasites into their biology. :) They probably have some important anatomical function.

The Elusive Trout |

Due to having Drovya right behind Talon, I've marked up what I think the battlefield would look like. Mind you the clear circle is the COUS.
Mapa?

Haka Thunderfoot |

Actually, it wasn't. I have a stepsister who swears by it, and I was thinking about running without shoes on a Costa Rican beach when it hit me.
I spent a lot of time without shoes on Costa Rican beaches recently, and I wouldn't worry about the parasites. Dry sand doesn't provide a very rich environment for them to live while waiting for a host, and on the parts of the beach that get wet, massive amounts of salt water is a pretty good dise\infectant. If you're not used to running on the beach, it can mess your feet up a bit, but it will make your calves strong.

Haka Thunderfoot |

@Drovya - you suggested earlier that I save some of my battle rhythm for the big fights. I'm still new enough to this campaign that I don't have a good sense of the pacing and the baddies, and thus when I should be expending resources and when I should be holding them in reserve. I also haven't played a bard in a long time. So any suggestions, advice, scathing critical reviews of my performance, whatever, from any of you, are welcome.

Rohini Soni |

This is the trickiest thing about playing a character with limited resources. I struggle with similar issues vis-a-vis Rohini. We may be close to meeting the big baddie, and I don't know if we'll get a chance to rest before then, so I've been trying to hold some things back for that fight. In general, this is a campaign where resource management seems important, since resting in such a hostile environment is tricky. We've only managed to rest once in this temple, and then once we left the plane after two deaths.

Talon Skyfall |

Well when you have 19 rounds of performance, you don't have to be that frugal about it. But otherwise, we do have to manage our resources. In this fight, I say start inspiring since there are a lot of bad guys to fight.

Talon Skyfall |

Yea, he'd stay invisible.

Hanethes Starsprings |

I'm staying invisible until the opportune time, when I'm flanking the Cous with something else. At least, that's what I think I'm doing. Everyone seems to be targeting the COUS, so I thought it would be best to get in there (at the right moment). So if that's a round from now, so be it. The dice are up in the gameplay thread.
