Okay, my sheet is at:
http://sheetgen.dalines.net/sheet/9859?message=trueLet me know where to send my biography and what specifically you want.
Bio is totally up to you, and you can post here, email me(my email is in a previous post) or create an alias like the other PCs have and include it there, or any combination thereof.
I am a pretty easy going ST/DM esepcially with a PBP where I have no idea whose on the other side of these characters IRL. Take your time, craft a really good backstory that fits your view of YOUR character and we'll go from there.

Monkeygod |

Dennis, two question out of sheer curiosity not criticism:
1) why the many paths of Thaum as opposed to a strong rank in one or two, and dabbling in others?
2) why isn't your occult 5? or even 6?
Also, do you feel your character is more or less ready for a Prelude? this doesn't mean the game is going to start soon, but I can get you ready for the beginning.
Kender,
the history you have so far is solid, but it's missing lots of details and reads a lot like a brochure almost of Edgar. The Vampiric section especially needs much more work.
Don't take this as bashing the work you've done, just the opposite. I like what I've read so far, but I want more.
I need to read the whole thing again, but a couple of points stuck out:
1) detail honeymoon some more, at least that fateful night.
2) Why did they go to a Native American reservation of all places??
3) What's the point of trying to obscure information about Edgar's unlife??

Dennis Harry |
Hey Monkeygod.
Thaumaturgy
He is a dabbler by nature. A bit of this bit of that. Much of the focus in the early years was on staying alive with Celestyn and essentially being a translator for Celestyn's larger schemes. Then he had little time to improve the few things that Celestyn actually did show him. Once he reached Rome his goal was to destroy his enemy (Fabrizio) who he felt had robbed him of his life. After all if it was not for him it is unlikely he would have moved to India and been embraced at all. Then once he was disgraced by Fabrizio he was moved out to the New World with no one to truly learn from so he had to learn what he could on his own. Moreover by that time ennui had begin to set in so he was lethargic in his approach to gaining power, which is part of why a Kindred half his age has a position that should rightly (in his mind anyway) be his.
Occult
Actually I was thinking the one thing he lacks is Theology but I suppose Academics takes care of that type of knowledge. Part of the reason his occult is not higher is for the reasons stated above, no true focus on the occult in his study but along the way he still acquired a large amount of knowledge thus the 4 but not the 5/6.
That being said if you thing based on his narrative I should rework some stats I can do that.
Absolutely he is ready for a Prelude. I am slammed with work this weekend so I may not be able to complete the small revisions to the history but I can certainly pop on and off for a prelude.

Monkeygod |

Is that prelude question for all of us?
Nah just Dennis.
checked your sheet, and will read your bio later today, see how close you are to finalized.
Hmm, not sure how to actually handle the Preludes...think I'll just create individual threads for each one.
@ Dennis,
Looking through my handy dandy ST Companion, and thinking bout ur character in general, it seems to me you need Research as a Knowledge. How would you feel about swapping out Investigation for it? That'll get you 4 points in Research, but after reading the description for 5 dots, it sounds like it fits you perfectly:
"You are virtually a walking cross-reference library, and know where to start looking before the question has been fully phrased"

Monkeygod |

Hey Monkeygod, that change makes sense that was the direction I was trying to go with anyway but I did not realize there was a Research Knowledge.
Hopefully I can finish what I need to finish today and I will have tomorrow off and can complete Beschis bio revisions.
I'm away from my books atm, but when I get home, I'll let you know the specialties for Research.
Ps,
that's kinda how I am with regards to RPGs, lol.
Hmm,
It occurs to me you might benefit from the Library Background from the Thaum book.
Again, once I'm back home, I'll check over both it and your current backgrounds to see if we can't swap some around.

Dennis Harry |
Sounds good to me. Is that the Revised ST's Companion? I have that I can take a look when I get home from work for the specialties. I still have a ton of books in hardcover and PDF for Vampire as I was running a Dark Ages Table Top up until a few months ago. I am glad I never got rid of them, I still love this game.

Monkeygod |

Okay, I sent you an e-mail with my bio.
Hope you like it. let me know if you need anything else.
Just read your bio and I love it! This guy will be lots of fun to have in game. Once I get home and have access to all my books, I'll see if we can fine tune the CS, I've already got some ideas a'churnin lol.
Aside from CS tweaks, I take it you too are ready for a Prelude?

Yup, Revised ST Companion. I personally love using secondary Abilities as they make a character far more defined and thus real.
The Thaum book is I believe Blood Magic: Secrets of Thaumaturgy.

1, Will we cover that in the prelude?
2, to continue to learn Navajo which began with the "windtalkers" of WWII......plus "off the grid" unliving at its best!
3, To obscure all information about Edgar since he has a "dark secret" and is deranged ie a Malkavian......

Yes, I'm fully prepared. Let me know when I should primarily be on. I'm a writer and my schedule is pretty much my own so I can be on when it's most convenient for you.

Got a chance to take a break at work. Amended the background for some awkward sentences and mis-spellings. I changed the end to remove references to current time NYC.
I also changed Investigation to Research. When I get home I will pick my Specialty and read through Library and see if I want to change around some background points to take it.

Monkeygod |

I can't find the Knowledge - Research. Can you tell me what book it is in Monkeygod?
Thanks.
Vampire: Storytellers Companion, page 30.
It features info on the Daughters of Cacophony, the Saulbri, and the Samedi bloodlines.
It's a softcover book, as opposed to the hardcover that is the Storyteller's Handbook.

Dennis Harry |
I totally forgot that book existed. I will take Arcane and Occult as my specialty and note that change in my character sheet.
Master Beaschi is now done and ready to go. I assume that you will create my contact, herd etc. The area of influence I was thinking was probably local church. Both of my retainers are ghouls. One is male Tribulat who has been around Beschi his entire life (and unlife) as a bodyguard. The other is the college student Catelyn a recent ghoul who taught him how to use the computer.
Is the year going to be 2011? I was thinking that perhaps I would have his Library downloaded onto a laptop that he would (somewhat obsessively) carry around. Let me know what you think and feel free to make more suggestions.
I will also create his description.
Edit: Based on his description I decided to lower his Appearance to 2 and take a 4 in Charisma with the Specialty Eloquent Speaker.

What generally do you want your contact to do, or area of expertise to have? Local Church is fine. yes, year is 2011, obviously no Gehenna. Laptop library is totally fine, though perhaps a bit out of place for the character.
Just an FYI, while I approved you having Protean 3, I'd prefer you did not raise it higher once game began.
@Kender,
the Prelude is a 1on1 tween a player and ST that gets you ready for the game. It generally happens a night or three before the game begins, sometimes the very same.
So yea, flesh out your background more. like I said, it's too brief and seems more like a quick overview than anything else.

Dennis Harry |
I think the Contact would make sense in either a local church group or in the linguistics department at a local university (of which there are plenty in NY/NJ) as these are the places and people that he would feel most comfortable with and find it easier to blend in with in mortal society. Usually when I ST I pick an NPC that will be linked to the overall plot so if you have something else in mind I am totally fine with it.
The idea behind the laptop is that Beschi is actually excited by something for the first time in well centuries and this is a harmless little quirk/obsession of his.
Not a problem on the Protean. With the Age background the XP cost to raise Protean any higher would be prohibitive anyway (I believe non-clan is 8x current with 2 in Age).
Question on NY in your game. Is the Prince Independent or part of a Sect?

Monkeygod |

I'm in, if this game's still recruiting. Might take me a day or so to write up a character, though...
Trying to decide if I want to bring back any of my old toons...
Yup, still recruiting. take your time with your character, as not only are we just beginning but I want you to make sure your character is the best it can be.
Creation Rules, my email, and a link to the OOC/Info boards should all be on the first page. Feel free to ask me anything, here or via email. I have access to pretty much all the VtM books, as well as Dark Ages stuff so nothing is really off limits.

What's the party make up so far?
2 Malkavians
1 Tremere
1 ?I'm going to have to make up something for this game, especially in light of THIS.
I'm thinking of something around an recently re-awakened Brujah Idealist. (i.e. more of the warrior-scholar type vs. anarch punk.)
two things:
1) Beschi and Edgar are more scholarly than combat-oriented, while Thackery(our other Malk) is a good split of both.2) HOLY Caine!!! I KNOW WHAT IM ASKING FOR MY BDAY!!!! its Sept 14th!!!!

I wouldn't worry too much about him being too scholarly, he is still a Brujah, you know...just don't expect him to be the stereotypical biker-punk Brujah. :)

Tal(ok if I call you that?), would you mind shooting me an email @ Dmb1481@gmail.com. I'd like to discuss something with you about ur character.
