I'm up for a little Kobold Mayhem adventure. I also have had yet to play 9-09
Athrax by Poblano |
I had to look through the NPCs carefully. There were no divine spellcasters, the dragon did not have an elemental subtype, and the fetchlings, while they were evil outsiders, were not outsiders with the evil subtype.
There was an optional encounter that I did not run in part because we were trying to finish before OutPost, but mostly because I felt that it added nothing to the storyline. However, the evil outsider in that encounter had the wrong subtypes as well. Alas, I think we fulfilled none of the goals here. :/
Hmm
Could I hold a Kobold charity event and spend 400GP on this chronicle?
Forgo your Downtime and succeed at a Diplomacy, Knowledge (local), or Perform (oratory) check with a DC equal 15 + your
character level to organize a charity event. Alternatively, donate resources worth 100 gp per character level to charity
I should also mention that the character this is applying too is still level 3.

I'm on board with the reunion; that sounds like a lot of fun!
Vanarog the Majestic |
Vanarog would love to continue to show you all what a real, true blooded kobold was like. Maybe you'll even get to see him use his most ever powerful fireball majik scroll!

Would anyone be interested in a Minions reunion after OutPost? The rumor is that on the chronicle for this adventure, we get the ability to use our kobold pregen once more, if we could use a normal level 4 pregen. It would be really neat to keep the same group together and play a normal scenario as kobolds. If the Great Lady in Red, Storytelling Minion Extraordinaire is not able to GM for us again, we can look for someone.
That sounds like an amazing time!! I am definitely in for that.

That sounds like fun. Want to describe the charity event in Gameplay?
Regarding the post-OutPost Kobold reunion... Does everyone want to do this? I only want to do it if it is unanimous, but Kobolds in Kaer Maga sounds like tons of fun.

Sedoriku's Pregen of the Month |
Yes, I would LOVE to do an all kobold table and I haven't played 9-09!
I'm going to try getting a wrap up post in the Gameplay thread in the morning. (It's late here!)
There shouldn't be any problems with what I posted for reporting information!

Anything else you want me to note on your Chronicle: If possible I'd like to hold this for him until he reaches level 3.

I haven't played that either. When would people be interested in doing this? I have signed up the character that is getting credit from this to play in Outpost already. I'd prefer to do this at a later date, after Outpost sometime.
GM Hmm |
All the Level 2 chronicles will be held chronicles, since they cannot apply now. This means that you and Mort didn't have to give me all those details, because it does not make sense to write them in on a held chronicle. (Sorry about that.)
9-09 is a 3-7 evergreen with 9 different plots... One of them a kobold story arc!
The game is reported, and now I am working on chronicles. Awenydd, I found an issue during reporting. GrubGlub is not character 13 but 14. I have reported it that way on Paizo, and that is the number I will be using on your chronicle sheet.
Hmm
Vanarog the Majestic |
Ah dang it. He's gotta be level 3 to apply it. Which means I won't be 3 for Outpost, which means I'll be a touch under the level range for Sewer Dragons. Blargh.
GM Hmm |
Sorry about that. :/ I did not mean to mess up your calculations...

Of Course, I will do just that soon.
GM Hmm |
That link only goes to Athrax's chronicle.
Heh, good catch. It is fixed now!

Vanarog the Majestic |
Looks good thanks HMM! I'll just need to brave the Sewer Dragon's out of tier I guess and hope to survive!
Vanarog the Majestic |
Well then. I guess more drastic measures need to happen. Goodbye Sewer Dragons!
Vanarog the Majestic |
Yup. I swapped characters around so I can get Mort the 1xp he needs to activate this chronicle. He'll get to level 3 at the conclusion of Outpost and be ready to go on a reunion tour at that point.

I do apologize for miscounting there! Yes, -14 is correct for him!
9 different arcs?!?! Geez! Now I want to dig in and read it to see how its laid out, but I will refrain until after we play! How big of a mess is that to sit down and figure out as a GM??
GM Hmm |
It is a lot of heavy lifting as a GM, because each of the story arcs is a story seed to which you add extra monsters and encounters from the provided appendices, and then stitch the storyline together out of the parts.
So, in the three times I have run this, the plots have been:
- Following up on a creepy monster that is stealing people’s brains;
- Hostage rescue mission;
- Crime scene investigation of a thief ring.
You can make your own story out of the pieces, which I love.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
The build your own adventures they have been working on are very fun but depending on your GM Skill it could prove to be more than one can handle when you start out GMing but then again I have seen stranger things.
Now I have been meaning to post this for a few days now.
One thing that I learned while playing this scenario is my personal limit. I have sadly had multiple moments where I was over my head between running a special, another PFS game, posting as a player in multiple games (including the Special), and handling my VA duties. I find it very important to know ones limits and that is what I have done now. If I plan to run a special in the future I will makesure not to over extend myself in all other areas.
GM Hmm |
I hear you. Running two specials at once was stressful, and I slowed way down from my normal pacing in this game.
I learned that not only I should not do this again, but I should also be more communicative when I am in over my head to my players.
Hmm

This Sounds fun.. but like Poblano said, I think that this could get ugly pretty quickly as well. I will have to wait until we are done so I can see everything.
Personally, my problem would be that I am not all that great at "sandbox" yet. I would like to think I have gotten better at adapting to the surprises my players throw at me, but to have an entire scenario as a sandbox would stress me out I think. But, once again, it all depends on how it is written too!I think that one of the things that trips me out about sandbox is that I rarely feel prepared. I am very detail oriented so it stresses me out when a player asks about or tries something and when I look through the scenario or whatever, there may as well be a giant grey fog, you know?

Hmm, my chronicle doesn't have the Day Job $$ filled in.
GM Hmm |
Gah.. Did I make that error? I will get into early and. Fix it. What was your day job number?

There should be revised chronicles in the chronicle folder for both Engashez and for Skyrahk.
Now, go add the amazing post-OutPost Kobold adventure to your campaigns!
