Which door? The door of the building they're in, or the door of the fishery?

The door to leave the building we are in. I thought you said that we could all hear what was happening. Did I misunderstand?

Cardon transforms himself into a young boy and crouches behind the barrel. Allyph and Fane step back into the shadows, ready to strike if Cardon's plans go awry. Meanwhile, Eran and Tolen ready themselves in the building across the street. Hadric glowers in the corner, waiting...

Creak! Light spills out into the street as the door opens. Bloo charges out, barely restrained by the chain attached to his colar.

He is held back by Giggles, who peers out into the evening gloom. Heh-heh. Looks like we found the birdy! He looks back at Yargin. who's holding a lantern in the doorway. Should I clip his wings boss?

No. Wait. puts on an ingratiating smile. What can we do for you, young sir? You look cold out here in the dark.

Nope. You can hear what's happening. I just wasn't sure if you wanted Eran to move up to the fishery entrance or not.

Cardon shies away from the dog and men, only having to half-pretend to be frightened. He lets the sweat running down his face double for tears.

"Please, sir. I'm sorry. Don't let him eat me! I didn't mean to snoop, sir honest. I...I just saw the light, and it looked so warm inside, and maybe you had some food. I gots to look after my little brothers, sir. They're hungry."

Cardon glances back at the abandoned building with the rest of their team, then quickly forces himself not to look there.

What do you say Giggles, Yargin says with a wry smile, Should we let him in? We can always use more help and we just happen to have an opening, don't we?

Har-har! Giggles laughs crudely, We sure do boss!

Down boy! Bloo strains against the chain, growling and trying to pull it out of Giggles' hands.

Just then, Allyph hears a slight creak as a door opens in the darkness up on the boardwalk. She turns her head quickly, but before she can react, a dagger flashes out and catches Fane in the shoulder. She can just see the edge of Knivesey's face as he peeks out from behind the door.

Varisian Fortune Teller

Alyph turns and makes an arcane gesture in the direction of Knivesey. She hears a thump from the other side of the door that tells her that her foe succumbed to the spell.

With the threat from the doorway neutralized, she steps out into the road and casts the same spell a second time at the half-orc and the dog. Giggles is affected immediately, his eyelids drooping and his knees buckling beneath his suddenly-slumbering bulk.

Bloo shakes off the spell. Realizing his chain is no longer held tight by Giggles, he explodes forward and attacks Cardon. His fangs dig deep into Cardon's chest.

Yargin looks around, stunned by the sudden burst of activity.

Cardon and Tolen can join the block initiative now for the same reason, as Giggles is asleep.

I would like to point out that sleep actually takes a full-round to cast... So technically speaking, the spell would not be complete until the beginning of Allyph's next turn. Which means giggles should still be standing.

Yes, but the way that I always understood it, when a spell takes a full round to cast, it goes off the following turn. I could be mistaken, of course.

EDIT: Found this in the CRB on the PRD: A spell that takes 1 round to cast is a full-round action. It comes into effect just before the beginning of your turn in the round after you began casting the spell. You then act normally after the spell is completed.

Allyph’s bolt of electricity snakes past Hadric’s head and catches Yargin in the chest. He smiles condescendingly at Allyph. You’ll have to do better than that dearie.

Fane steps over Knivey’s sleeping body and enters a dark office. He can make out a desk heaped with dozens of slate boards by the light coming in through the partially open door in front of him. The door on his right is closed, but he can see light around its edges.

Eran luches a bolt of purple ice at Giggles but it misses him, hitting the side of the building just over his head.

Giggles grunts and stands up warily. Hadric notices an opening and slashes out with his great-axe, leaving a ribbon of blood across Giggles' chest.

Who's laughing now, funny boy! Hadric bellows, I don't miss twice!

Eran’s ice bolt misses Giggles due to the -4 penalty for firing into melee and Giggles' +4 AC bonus vs. ranged attacks for being prone.
