One of the Phalanx dupes launched himself through the air and connected with a vicious right cross to the left side of Markus' face. The blow rocked him back, his body impacted with the wall, plaster and marble splintered and cracked.

His vision darkened briefly, he heard screams from somewhere above him, he saw a shattered city, Omega drones flying through the air, the smell of burnt and charred bodies filled his nose. He knew they weren't his memories, but he knew what he was trying to tell him, Keep fighting, keep standing, there are people RELYING on you, and he wouldn't fail them, not again. NOT TODAY.

His voice echoed throughout the Courtroom as he pushed himself to standing from the crater his impact had made in the wall, "NOT TODAY!"

Looking around at the other heroes, he didn't recognize any of them. The man of steel, and the spartan clad warrior had assisted him with Phalanxes duplicates, and there was Priest.

He stepped forward towards the other heroes, "I can have the hostages removed from the room faster than the detonators can trigger the explosives, but the signals will still get there, and they will still blow." He clapped a hand on Tech Priest's shoulder, "Can you defuse them with less collateral damage?"

Invictus looked towards the young woman who had whisked the heroes to the upper floors, "Hydrokinetic of some sort?", he then turned towards Broadway, "Sonics judging from the frequencies I heard from inside the court room, you say you can generate fields of solid sound?" Invictus ran through some mental calculations, calling on some of Centurion's experience with the Freedom League.

"Here's the plan, Priest, you do your techno thing and delay the detonators as long as you can, it won't take me much time at all to clear the room." He turned indicating the young woman, "If you can flood the room with as much water as you can it should help diminish the shock wave. Young man," he clapped a hand on Broadway's shoulder, "I need you to surround her sphere of water with a wall of pure sound, as solid as you can make it." Then he turned to look at his two companions from the lobby, a literal man of steel and a self proclaimed god, "If you can clear any stragglers from the floor below us." He paused, and turned to Ares, "And if you truly are a good, we could use a little luck."

And finally Invictus turned to Tights, "If not mistaken, I believe I saw you flying about the courtroom, pursue the Viper-copter, try to stay directly above it, and if at all possible broadcast your location across a police band. Once we've rescued these folks, we'll converge on the chopper and stop them together."

He gave a look to the entire assembled heroes, he did his best to assume Centurion's calm confidence, hoping that it would inspire those who had chosen to stand against Viper today. "Alright, lets do this."

. . . . Power Stunt (Teleport 7) (Alternate; 700 ft. as move action, DC 17; Affects Others (Only), Burst Area (35-175 ft. radius - General); Distracting, Short-Range; Progression, Increase Area 2 (area x5), Selective)
Hopefully getting them 700' feet away will be enough, and then between Waveform & Broadway contain the explosion. Ares & Golem could move in pursuit of Blaze who went street level maybe, and Tights can take off after the Viper-Copter. It's risky, but it's rule of cool right. Asses kicked but save innocents in dramatic fashion >.>

Remember Broadway, that the Hostages are going to be out of the room, I was hoping you & Waveform could contain the explosion itself to prevent structural damage to the courthouse and surrounding buildings. Unless we are changing our plan?

Misread that, but since you act before Broadway anyway, the room would be empty, and Broadway would change his action to add his walls inside the structure walls so his force wall would take the brunt.

"Let's do it the other way around. Water inside the force field. Even if there were people there, it wouldn't be a problem. " She gets ready to force them in. [b]" I'll leave a pocket of air near the northeast corner window. If we can't contain it, it'll channel it that direction and there's nothing that tall over there.

With stunting, that's protection 12 for the room. Since it has no defense it should still be in PL even with Broadway's 9

Broadway nods, and smiles at Waveform, "Alright, let's do this thing" With the people suddenly gone, he changes the pitch of the note he's singing and the wall changes to form outside the wall of water.

Ares readies his shield to block the blast and then charge in to grab stragglers. aye, let us make War.

OMNIPOTENT OMNIPRESENT NARRATOR

After the 8 of you had taken some time to assess the situation.
This will take like 2 minutes of real time so things will have changed away from you guys

T.I.G.H.T.S impulsive as ever tried to disarm the device without any discussion with the group. That went bad but not as bad as it could of.

Invictus took the lead and made the plan with so here is how everything goes down

Dr Quark you are up in the chopper itself now.

Ares goes back down to the court room all the Phalanxes are gone.

Golem goes and looks for Blaze all you can find is the car he crashed into but he seems to have gotten up and walked away.

Invictus, Waveform, Broadway, and Techno Priest do their coordinated action.
Your actions go off without a hitch
Invictus goes in and grabs all the people techno priest nullifies the detonators while Broadway and Waveform contain the coming explosion with the water and the forcefield.

T.I.G.H.T.S. after you almost kill everyone in the room and possibility the entire team before it was formed you speed away through the sky trying to track down the chopper a large jet flying as fast as you in not faster zips past the courthouse in the same direction the Chopper.

All but Dr. Quark gain a hero point

OMNIPOTENT OMNIPRESENT NARRATOR

@T.I.G.H.T.S. as you attempt to follow the chopper the jet that passes by you is a familiar one.

Its the Freedom Leagues Jet and it closed fast on the chopper and is right on top of it while maintaining speed and position.

Flying low out of the Jet is Captain Thunder with hands crackling with electricity trying to engage the chopper.

Broadcasting over radio signal is a call to stop the chopper and take it to the ground from the freedom league jet.

@Dr. Quark the chopper suddenly slows some and you can hear over the broadcast over the speakers in the chopper to take the chopper to the ground immediately.

@Watcher can you describe the inside of the chopper situation? How many agents? And how far off the ground are we? And do I see Captain Thunder (x-ray vision)? notice: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

OMNIPOTENT OMNIPRESENT NARRATOR

In the small area you are located at there are two agents standing over the hostages and there are the two pilots All four of them seem to be very stressed and in fear now that the Freedom League has taken interest in their chopper. You see Captain Thunder and the Freedom Jet. You are almost 1000 feet off the ground.

Sliding between the bonds of the strange polymer, Dr. Quark returned to the normal sized world. Still the size of a bug, he looked up the long legs and torso of one of the Viper guards and said, Hey boys, that's the Freedom League out there. Why don't you just go ahead and surrender. There's no reason for anyone here to have their jaw broken by Captain Thunder, is there?

Diplomacy check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 to convince the guards to stand down. Not trying to scare them so much as trying to sound like a combination of the mom they never had and the therapist they need. I'm on your side, why get punched when you are clearly going to lose?
