@Kunala: What you've done so far seems fine to me, no issues.
Just as a heads-up, my wife could go into labor with our first baby girl any day now, so when that happens I'll make sure to post here and say that it's happened, and then I'll probably be posting much less frequently for at least a few days.

Kimos Kousei |

I am good with things, Kimos is just a bit serious about certain stuff. Prefers to keep things low key and standing out is bad in a lot of ways both personally and practically considering the land and setting. He means well even if it comes off differently.
As for his role, currently a switch hitter. Plays off being a ranged guy which he can be but specializes in melee. His skills are mostly centered around assassinish stuff. He could serve as a good scout, look out, and tracker too. Which by extension kinda makes him a front liner, just needs a flanking buddy once he gets sneak attack to be a real beast. ;)
P.S. DM did you get my last PM?
P.S.S. Tamoq congrats and hope she is born healthy. ^.^

Raffinyaler |

New to play-by-post, not new to RPGs or Pathfinder.
Shortening the name to Raffin or Raff is fine with me. Raffinyaler is a bit of a "legitimate businessman," so he's not going to be entirely comfortable dealing with the officials in Torch since they're aware of his reputation (and some of them may have taken advantage of his services in the past). Dealing with pretty much anyone else he's not going to have an issue.
Kunala, I've no problem with switching off with you on being face as the situation calls especially since Raffinyaler is probably a more fitting face for dealing with less savory characters.

Kunala |
@ Raff (trying it on for size) I'm ok dealing with whoever you all want me to, you can deal with the criminal element or we can tag team them, its all good to me. I just don't want to hog the spotlight, I'm trying to be careful not to, since I'm posting so frequently.
I really like the characters and the potential dynamics I just don't want to spoil it. So I will try and use hooks, to encourage and eventually aid others.
Speaking of combat style. If I have time I will fire the pistol, holster it and then move into melee using sword and board. If I don't have time I will go straight to sword and board. Should be able to provide meat shield and flank buddy. that's why I went with the "musketeer" archetype instead of "Dune Drifter".
Because of that switch I am not stealthy at all, so you all will have to do the real work. :) Kunala will talk a lot, shoot things and let anyone hide behind him that wants too. :)
Like I said earlier, happy to listen to any constructive criticism.

Congrats Tamoq
Concerning Init and order, I would suggest post regardless of order and sort them. Some people won't be able to post at some times and waiting on one person can slow things down a lot in my exp. If your actions are dependent on someone else's then it's easier to correct then wait on. My 2c.

Kunala |
I would like that, I have seen recruitment lists and GM instructions that have been different variations so I thought I would ask. The only GM I've played with so far (GM Baerlie) asked that we not start the second/following round until the first/present round was completed so that's what I am used to, but I do want to do it how GM Helicon wants.

Raffinyaler |

So I have a few questions on the map and where everything is. Since the one you posted had no grid coordinates, I went ahead and threw some on it (as can been seen here) and I'll be referring to them in my questions.
1. Based off Kunala's comments, I assume that we're coming in through the double doors (L4/5) near the base of the stairs and the robot is in/near the north-western corner (D1). Is this correct?
2. I can't really tell based off this map, but is the upper-left part of the map (the square with A1-C1-A3-C3 as it's corners) part of another building or is the foundry freestanding?
3. Where is Val and which of the three (four?) doors is she headed towards?

Helikon |

Alright, as I said, this is my first PBP leading, and I will definetly need help with the maps.
Apart from that. I can answer all questions. I can´t see the coordinates unfort, I get an error. South is where you can read foundry.
1. You enter through the double southern door. The robot is working on the workbench in the north-western corner. The brown table. A little to the east is a water basin.
2. The Foundry is freestanding.
3. Val is trying to leave through the southern door. The one you opened.

Raffinyaler |

Try this link. If that doesn't work then the coordinate system I'm using is basically columns are A-L, with A being the left-most column of the building, and rows are 1-12 with 1 being the top row of the building.
There appears to be no double door on the south wall - only a single door (C12). The other opening (F12/G12) looks to be a large window like the openings at A6, A10, E1, K1, and L7 due to them all being blue/white, the areas inside directly next to them being lighter, and the exteriors having an outward flaring molding shape. The actual doors appear to be at B3, C12, H1, and L4/5 (a double door) due to them being solid white, the interiors not changing color, and the molding near them compressing inward.
As a side note, having played and run a lot of Paizo written stuff, that's got to be one of the most confusing maps I've seen in terms of figuring out what openings are what.

Ok, I've downloaded Java and d20 Pro, the WELCOME TO D20PRO V3.3.4 menu gave me two potions
Player, Judge Guest (which never expires) it will only allow me to log in as a player
Player, Judge robert henry (which expires on 10/1/2014) which is the account I just made
I assume I log on as a player under Guest, when I click on Player and open that Que it asks for alais and IP address, I will use Kunala as my alais what is the IP address?

Kunala |
a test to see if this would work
google docs was much easier for me to understand than d20 pro or roll 20.
Once I down loaded "drive" it allowed me to go to the drive page (which was under the Docs button in the left corner) and use the "drawing page" which was under the "create" button in the left corner, (before I down loaded drive the menu on the docs page was more limited) I imported the images (under insert), changed their sizes, saved it so anyone could edit it and walla.

Several things:
1. It's actually 10 rounds to a minute (6 seconds/round). This is relatively important because Air Bubble lasts 1 minute/level meaning that at minimum caster level we have 4 more rounds to take actions prior to it expiring (and we have to worry about holding our breaths).
2. A small treasure chest weighs 25 lbs empty and is not explicitly stated to be waterproof - only that it is more resistant to water than a normal chest - and so would requires DM adjudication regarding how long it lasts before being considered soaked through.
3. Powder horns, however, are explicitly stated to be waterproof, and as such wouldn't need to be kept in a waterproof container.
4. Additional DM adjudication is required regarding how long various items can be submerged before they are considered soaked though and/or damaged by water. Specific items in question at this time are backpacks (standard and masterwork in case there is a difference), spell/formula books, torches, and firearms.

Helikon |

IF you look for something waterproof, val will give you a strange bag. I mean real wierd. It is of a strange bleached blue material with no seams. On top is a strange closing mechanism and there are 2 straps with 2 clips and the vendor explains that you can wrap the top twice and then clip it shut. It is quite small but big enough for 4 books.

Kimos Kousei |

Kimos will take the scouting position. He has decent stealth, perception, and armor. But he will want to get healed before going out sense he is the only one that took damage last encounter (I think). 3 damage is not much but at low levels you die easy. xD

Raffinyaler |

Yeah, quick (i.e. magical) healing is probably going to be a bit of an issue for the first few levels.
Because Investigators 'cast' like Alchemists, it'll be level 3 (earliest he can get the Infusion discovery) before Raffinyaler can use any of his daily allotment of extracts on others. Tamoq, our other option for magical healing, doesn't know any cure spells at this time and, because he's a spontaneous caster, won't be able to know any until he levels.
On the plus side however, because the spells are on our class lists both of us are capable of using wands without needing UMD checks so, as soon as we can afford it, a wand of cure light wounds would be a good investment for the party.
A strange medkit with a button if you push it on someone while he is injured it will inject some fluid in the patient = MW Medkit (+4) 8 Charges
Is this is a technological device? And, if so, will those of us without Technologist be able to use it?

Kunala |
Sorry, I thought we needed someone with the technologist feat to handle the emergency medkit and similar items we might find.
I must have just overestimated the importance of it, hopefully we at least get people thinking about the setting.
Should we go to the junkyard and come back to the tavern to give someone time to join us or do you think we should just wait here for them to join?

Elasbeth Evergreen |

K, as a bit of an introduction, Elasbeth is designed as a more support based spell caster. She will focus mostly on buffing/area control, with the addition of some electrical and maybe acid damage. Due to her archetype she also will have the ability to be a packet healer when necessary. She is fascinated by technology and has a great interest in those items that can be used to heal or aid others.
As far as posting, I usually can post a fair bit in a day, mostly in the afternoon/evening. So I can fairly easily keep up with everyone.
If there is anything else I need to do to get started let me know.

Raffinyaler |

Welcome Elasbeth!
The tavern we're in right now is closed to the public (at the moment), so until Helikon calls how you joined us I'm kinda going to ignore that you're there rather than react to the fact that you semi-suddenly showed up in the closed bar we're using as a temporary base of operations.

Raffinyaler |

That's totally fine with me actually as you being there works for a good potential hook to bring you in - Okrin has decided not to come with us and brought you in to replace him as someone familiar with technology. But, as I said, how you join us is Helikon's call.

Raffinyaler |

As a long time resident of Torch, I can say it pretty much only happens on Tuesdays. And since Golarion's calendar doesn't actually have a day called Tuesday, it's obviously a rare occurrence.

Kunala |
@Elasbeth, just out of curiosity what time zone are you in? also if I Get too pushy just let know, I'm still fairly new to the whole PBP thing.
some strange tubes that will shed light of bend = lightrod with 3x glowing distance 5 pieces
I've been looking through the pfsrd I cannot find any info on "lightrods" does anyone know anything specific or should I give them to Elasbeth, as our local technologist to see if she knows anything about them?
