"You may enter without papers as long as I accompany you, but you will have to remain with me until." She spots Moira, obviously holding papers, and starts grinning wide. "It would seem some people here do have brains. My minion over there is sure to have the papers you require to venture around town in a solitary fashion."
Moira's expression changes from amused to a frown. She comes over to Ilvara and Zaggar. She beats Zaggar on the chest with the rolled up parchment as she hands it to him. "Minion my ass." and to Zaggar she adds "You owe me one." before she moves on to the Ash house.
The guards have mixed feelings about this situation. They are offended, that the agents of the Archbaron didn't shoo that hobgoblin away like they wanted. On the other side they are amused by the infight.
Zaggar watches Moira go. Then he bows slightly to Ilvara telling "Thank you very much Mylady. It was a pleasure to meet you." And with a mocking grin towards the guards he enters town.
Ilvara, having to go back into town herself in any case, wanders nalong with the hobgoblin for the moment. "What mission do you need resupply on? Is there anything we should be aware of?"
"How many minions do you have?" Clarice asks as she joins Ilvara, skipping slightly, "I never knew Moira was your minion."
Zaggar stops to answer. "Arrows, rations, getting the notches worked out of the blade, maybe some potions. Nothing special. Can't show up depleted when I help fight the rebellion."
Ilvara smiles a surprisingly warm smile at the Tiefling skipping next to her, before turning her smile upon Zaggar. "As you can see, I have gathered quite the entourage. Would you like to join as well?"
"What do you pay?" Zaggar asks in return.
"A fair share in the spoils, the honour of serving me, and the opportunity for wanton destruction every now and then." Ilvara answers."[/b]
"It's nice of you to offer, but I think I stay with the Duke." Zaggar replies and moves on into town.
Moira enters the Ash House and on her 'maid'. The second floor is now cleaned from rubble. "Well done, come along." she orders. With her minion in tow she returns to town, intent on confronting Ilvara. The roughly humanoid shaped, slimy mass, that her ectoplasmic undead is, follows along.
"Very well," Ilvara answers Zaggar, and nods at him by way of goodbye.
She looks at the red-skinned girl next to her and asks "How would you feel about going shopping with me?"
"Shopping is always fun. Especially when I can afford things!" Clarice jumps, "Yes please."
As Willow is done with her morning routine she gets up and checks on the others. Finding only Fauhra she asks "Are we going to meet the others?"
Fauhra looks up from her activity - actually cleaning some of the chili bowls from yesterday - and smiles as she sees Willow.
"Eh. Others busy with paperwork and boring stuff."
She looks at the dishes she's doing, and looks back up at Willow, grinning sheepishly as she realises the logical fault that doing dishes isn't all that exciting either.
"Got any plans what to do instead?" Willow asks going through the collection of bottles the tavern has to offer.
"Hanging about with new friend" Fauhra says matter-of-factly.
Ilvara walks into the street with most shops, and looks around for an armourer. Stepping into the shop, allowing room for Clarice to join before ordering her skeleton to follow, she starts browsing the wares.
The shop owner comes through the back door shortly after the door bell rings, but turns to do something else as he sees who entered.
The shop is no armory, but a general store which has also some armor piled in a corner. Mostly leather and studded leather, made from the products of the local tannery. But also a chain shirt or two thrown in as well as a breast plate and a chain mail.
"How about we take a walk through the woods? See who else is about." Willow suggests. "And maybe hang our feet into the creek."
"Whaaat are you looking for?" Clarice sing songs as she looks at small things at the back of shelves.
Ilvara looks at the pile of armour before answering.
"My minion's armour is in need of repair. It would seem that the elegance of the craftsmanship in this town is rather appalling, but I guess beggars cannot be choosers."
Fauhra smiles. "Woods are nice and quiet. Good plan."
Willow grabs some of the day old bread and some cheese as well as a bottle of wine as provision. "Then let's go."
Willow leads through Longacre to the northern gate and onwards to the Whisper River and the Docks that are there. On the way that leads through an open area with some trees here and there, she tells "I like being in this nature. The silence that isn't really silent. All these tiny things to be in awe about."
Fauhra's long feathered cloak drags fallen leaves and twigs along with it as she follows Willow through the trees.
Ï didn't think you would enjoy such things. You are filled with surprise."
"I choose nature over towns full of humans any day." Willow replies. "I guess you know that look they give you all the time for being different."
Fauhra looks at Willow. "What you mean, different? You think I am a strange person!?" Her raised voice causes some birds to stir from their resting places in the overhead canopy.
"Daddy is from here..." Clarice responds, upset by the insult. She is quickly distracted by a small, rather elegant hand mirror at the back of a shelf.
Looking the other way Willow rolls her eyes. "Different as in you're not human. And no elf, no dwarf, no race you meet in every town. I get these wary stares wherever I go. Don't you?"
Fauhra quickly calms down again. "Ah, yes. People stare because they like my clothes, and my cloak." She rolls her shoulders, which causes her feathered cape to sway. "Everyone wishes they could be pretty like me."
"That must have been the only item they put any effort in, then." Ilvara answers.
Ilvara looks around the shop, and snaps her fingers twice in rapid succession.
"This mirror is quite pretty as well." She says lifting it up, looking into it from a wide angle before starting to twist it around.
The shopkeeper looks in Ilvara's direction. "Yes?"
The blisstopian springs of ignorance are majestic this time of the year. Willow thinks. "It's a really nice cloak indeed. Where did you get it? I've never seen one like this."
"A friend made it for me, after we hunt birds." Fauhra grins.
Ilvara points at a chain shirt. "What's the price on that?"
"A hundred gold?" The shopkeep replies, not feeling comfortable with the two women in his shop.
Ilvara's eyebrows raise slightly, along with one corner of her lip. "Really?" she asks.
"95 gold?"
"If I would feel generous I would give... alright, let's say I'm feeling REALLY generous. I'll offer you 85."
"Yes." the shopkeep replies meekly.
"And how much for this?" Clarice asks waving the mirror from behind a shelf.
The shopkeep looks at the nicely made mirror. It is only brass with a round glass mirror set in, but it's gilded with some colorful splinters of low value gems. "It's 15 gold."
"Here is 30." Clarice says handing over the coins.
The shopkeep stands there dumbfounded, speechless, and slack-jawed with the coins in hand.
Ilvara places the money on the shopkeeper's counter. She pays no attention to the shopkeeper, instead looking at the litte tiefling, intrigued.
As they walk out of the shop, her skeletal minion carrying the new chain shirt, Ilvara asks Clarice "Why would you give more than the shopkeeper asked?"
"Because you gave him less. And its a really pretty mirror!"
Ilvara is silent for a moment, before deciding on her reply. "That it is, indeed."
"The girl who lives in it is very pretty too." Clarice replies with a smile.
Ilvara gets out her dagger and starts cutting the strips on the skeleton's armour.
"I'm sure." she replies off-handedly to Clarice, as the old armour falls to the ground.
"Wear." she says to the minion, while indicating the new chainmail.
