Hello all fairly new to the pbp thing but have roll played for many many years. Please don't hesitate to let me know if I do anything wrong or to fill me in on any of the etiquette for the game. Here is to having fun and beating up bad guys.
P.S. I'm reserving the right to feel the character out for a few days and adjust his alignment... I;m thinking he might not be as chaotic as I originaly thought. Has a real respect for the Old way of doing things.... as in before House Thrune old...
P.S.S. One question what year is it... I know Aroden died in 4604... House Thrune Ascenden in 4640ish... Queen Abrogail the 1st was assassinated by her own son in 4672 which started a series of short successions where various rulers would die after a few years until Abrogail the 1st grand daughter Abrogail the 2nd came into power in 4709.

So glad I've been picked! Being in Cheliax is rather strange for this character but I think it adds a good twist to her story. I didn't take any of the campaign traits if that's okay. Most of them rely on the PC being from Kintaro which she most emphatically is not.
Her in to the story is with the Bellflower Network if that's okay. The guide didn't really mention how free Halflings are treated in the city. Do you have anything Freya can now at the start of the campaign?

Bjorn Stonehand |
Howdy everyone!
I'm reading up a bit on Kintargo. Does it have any sort of fighting pits or arena?

Bjorn Stonehand |
Hrm. Should I make something up Diremerc or is that something you'd prefer to handle? I'm planning to use it as part of Bjorn's reasons for being in Kintargo.

Bjorn Stonehand |
This site lists some locations in Kintargo and one of the places is the War Cage. It's a weapon shop welcoming to adventurers which includes an arena where shoppers are allowed to spar with weapons for purchase. It seems possible the owners could host a fight club here late at night.

In the end it's your choice Freya. but Historian of the Rebellion looks like it was made for your character.
You’ve long been interested in the legacy of the Silver Ravens—a group of freedom fighters that rose to prominence in Kintargo during the Chelish Civil War. There’s frustratingly little information today about the group, and you suspect that most of what was recorded about the Silver Ravens has long since been redacted or destroyed by government agents, but you’ve managed to pick up a tidbit here and there. Most of your knowledge isn’t so much about the Silver Ravens specifically, but more about general histories of rebel groups and freedom fighters who have fought against oppressive governments throughout history, both in Cheliax and beyond. Your familiarity with rebel groups allows you to grant a +2 bonus on an Organization check of your choice once the party reestablishes the Silver Ravens during the first adventure. You can change which check you assign this bonus to once at the start of the rebellion’s Upkeep phase. Your time preparing for joining the Silver Ravens has also honed your skill at remaining unseen. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Stealth checks, and Stealth is always a class skill for you.
I'm sure Fin would have told you a little bit about the Silver Ravens before sending you into Kintargo

Bjorn Stonehand |
I didn't realize we're actually playing Hell's Rebels.
I suppose I should swap out one of my traits for a campaign trait.

DireMerc |

The start of this adventure for your group is exactly the same as the hell's rebels adventure path but it wont stay the same for long. I am mixing elements from both hell's rebels and Hell's Vengeance into a single campaign.
The reason I started you at level 3 instead of 1 is so you could quickly complete part 1 but even so I made adjustments to make it challenging even at your level. I also changed the start of the adventure a bit to suit my needs.
I am willing to say that the war cage serves as an arena were official matches with prizes are held weekly with sparring during the week.
I believe it is currently 4711

That makes sense and I guess it's a little less min-max-y than arcane temper.

DireMerc |

For this one it's pretty simple 4 opponents in an open courtyard. The crowd dispersed enough they wont get in the way. Assume your in range for wtv you want to do and that they haven't noticed you just yet.
I was hoping we could get it done without a map since I suspect it will be a short and pretty straight forward battle but can make one if it's needed.

Tobias Flint |

In my experience, grouping good guys and bad guys together so they all act at the same time is usually better. Then people post whatever they want and the DM can put them in the best order possible to do the most damage.

Mordecai Goldman |

Are we allowed to post our intended action out of initiative order? I work weird hours and don't want to hold up combat.
I think the Dottari are up... Turpilus posted out of order 1st round of combat. Of course I might be missing something.
Freya (initiative 26)
1st round ice missle thing
2nd round Thunderstomp
Dottari (initiative 19)
1st around 2 attack Freya, 2 attack Bjorn
2nd round???
Bjorn (initiative 13)
1st round uses inspiring Prowess
Turpilus (initiative 9)
1st round attacked with scimitar
Zindra (initiative 6)
1st round attacks with scimitar
Mordecai (initiative 5)
1st round attacks with short sword

Freya Solheim |

So I'm confused. Freya didn't say she was a healer nor did she stab anyone. He also wouldn't have had to turn around. So did that guard attack her? If so she's at -1, assuming they're doing lethal damage otherwise she's knocked out at 0.
I think you meant to say he attacked Zindra

Mordecai Goldman |

Mordecai, though it may be in character, I feel like this is one of those times where the GM should go "are you sure?"
There is definitely some risk with my choice but there is also some calculation behind it...
I think I have multiple reasons why I might be let go.
1. My character belongs to one of the minor Noble families of the city... might give me a little leeway.
2. I really don't know anything about the resistance. In Golarion it only takes one or two spells to tell if someone is telling the truth. Seeing as my character has no idea who any of you are he has no reason to lie and will tell the truth. He was protecting people he believed were loyal citizens of the Chelaxian empire. At this stage I'm not a threat of any kind and they'll know it.
3.Turning myself in willingly shows that I can play by the rules. Thrune is trying to change the city into a more lawful place... and I've just shown that while I might do something against the Law... I respect the Cities Laws enough to submit to their punishments. Thrune wants more people around like that... not less.
4. I openly worship a dead god. That eccentricity may... although not likely... be enough to help convince someone believe I'm fairly harmless.
5. My character has a working relationship with the city guard. While Thrune may plan on replacing all the local boys in the guard with troops more loyal to him eventually, he hasn't had time to do that yet. (So possible chance of a pissed off guard who just found out he is losing his job letting me go.)
Possible advantages of this choice...
1. It would be fun to develop a relationship with one of the people entrusted to enforcing the New Laws of the city. We could make him look good while running around his back and using his position to accomplish our own ends. Think Hogans Heroes
2. Just earned the respect of the Guards. If they are kept around because they managed to do capture me, something the Dottari couldn't ...that could be helpful. If their let go because Thrune wants men more loyal to him around... they would be amenable to work with us in the future in a more direct fashion.
3. It wouldn't hurt for the new local constabulary to get into their head who I am and that I'm fairly harmless. Especially if I become less harmless later.
4. My character right now doesn't like Thrune and the Dottari... he needs a reason to HATE them and this will most likely supply it.
5. Saving even one life of the people lying bleeding in the street would make it all worth while.

Freya Solheim |

All great. On a meta-level, the GM is unlikely to kill you. The Guards would probably have to turn you over to the Dottari who will torture and kill you without some kind of intervention.
I hope it works out for you. if only because Freya needs her meatshields

Now that I'm here, we can start the rebellion
Freya needs to get that copyrighted. Prolly my favorite line from this game so far.

Encouraging Freya's ego is probably a bad idea. But it could be funny. Keep it up.

Mordecai Goldman |

Gm...
I'm assuming that the 2000 gp is for 2 restorations... one for the brand itself... and the other for the negative level....
Any chance, once I have some funds available, I can just get the negative level removed and keep the Brand around? Seems like a good reminder for Mordecai of just who and what Thrune isand Mordecai's relationship to him. maybe take the Foul Brand Drawback with no compensation?
Foul Brand
Effect: You have the symbol of an evil deity burned into your flesh. If the symbol is on your hand, you take a –1 penalty on Disable Device, Disguise, and Sleight of Hand checks.

Freya Solheim |

I don't mean to be mean here but the name of the city is Kintargo. More than one person has misspelled it so I'm not yelling at anyone.

I am in trouble on this one. My phone autocorrects to Kintarro already. Kintargo Kintargo Kintargo Kintargo Kintargo Kintargo Kintargo...
Ok phone retrained.

Bjorn Stonehand |
Turp's been gone for more than two weeks now. He was also our most optimized combatant. If this is intended to be competitive in any way we should get a replacement or maybe some kind of buff to make up the handicap.

Mordecai Goldman |

Lol. I'm loving this
Tobias is the stereotypical antihero like batman, wolverine, or, punisher
Mordecai is the stereotypical Boy Scout like superman, captain America, or Daredevil
If the characters had no friction there would be something wrong

Mordecai Goldman |

My suggestion to the other players would be to start brainstorming comical ways to shut down our grandstanding.
Examples:
You two done? We have a city to save.
Is anyone else turned on by this?
Look if you two are going to fight... Get it over with already.
Is it just me, or do you two have some unresolved sexual tension built up.
