He moves in front of Emrael to examine the next door for tricks and traps.
Elgan resumes his perch on Claws broad shoulder plates, the perfect position (in his mind) to either take cover behind, or launch himself from should the need arise.

This room's main feature is another large pit in the floor. Seems to be a common motif.....
Along the northern wall is a mural. It depicts savage t'cho t'chos performing various "heroic" deeds.....ancient battles, hunts, gathering prisoners, offering the prisoners up to their serpentine-nosed, elephantine headed horrible deity Chaugnar faughn, or begging on the steps of a pyramid, to a black-skinned god king wearing a spotted hunting beast's pelt and golden regalia,
or throwing them into a pit.....a pit that leads to darkness,
and other such bleak depravities.
And you hear wind rustling in the pit below mayhap.
And,.....mayhap,.....that wind is indeed whispering in some low, unknown tongue.
Pip says, "tekeli.....li,...." and his face turns white with horror.
Pip:
Huzzzah!!!

".....tekeli....li...." can hear this whispered. Those with sharp, pointy, elvish ears.
