“Hey Altai, those night-vision goggles you wear, you made those yourself, right? Think you can make me a pair? Maybe a bit smaller and more stylish than yours… Oh, doesn’t have to be right now, I can’t pay you in full yet anyway, but later on, when I have some more cash?
“Well, see, this guy down at the markets is selling a Cloak of the Bat, it’s good for hiding like my other cloak, but it also lets me fly and turn into a bat and stuff. But I can only do that when its dark, which is a bit useless if I can’t see in the dark …”
BATMAN!!! ;)

Altai Iscarni |

"Of course I can make another nightvision mask." Altai is clearly a bit miffed. "Heck, as a second effort, it'll probably be smaller and lighter, too. It'll take a week or two, though - it's a lot of tricky work. Now, the Horns will be interested in this report..."
I'll drop by the Horns of Zelkarune to tell them about the scrying results. Looks like it might fall apart if we eliminate the giants...

Elgan Dreadwood |

Sorry (again) guys! Was busy, see discussion for update!
I need to update Elgan like 2 lvls! sheesh! (I guess I know what I'm doing tomorrow!)
Elgan would love to have Altai make him that Amulet of mighty fists, now he can even afford it! (pretty easily actually!) Maybe even afford to just add it to the one he;s already wearing! Otherwise he;ll need to move his amulet of Nat Armor to another object too! (I'd hate to lose that bonus!) If no one wants teh belt, (is it a belt, or amulet?) of CON Elgan will take it, he usually ends up in combat. But Stig would be a more obvious choice!

Beldan Vale |

"Of course I can make another nightvision mask." Altai is clearly a bit miffed. "Heck, as a second effort, it'll probably be smaller and lighter, too. It'll take a week or two, though - it's a lot of tricky work. Now, the Horns will be interested in this report..."

“Aw don’t be like that ... the oversized thing looks good on you, adds to the whole wizardly mystique. I, on the other hand,” Beldan smoothes his ratty moustache and grins his crooked toothed grin, “have a certain style to maintain! Anyway, I don’t need it now, I can’t pay you just yet anyway.”
Hang about ... I’m a thief! Since when did lack of cash stop me from getting something? Beldan is not disloyal or stupid enough to steal from Altai of course, nor from any other wizard powerful enough to make his goggles, but he starts thinking about where he might be able to get his hands on ten grand or so quickly. It’d have to be a big heist, which would take some planning, particularly if he was going it alone and keeping it quiet from the local thieves union ... Ugh, probably too much hassle, I don’t want to kill anyone, or be killed myself, or rip off anyone who doesn’t deserve it.

Altai Iscarni |

Though it is hardly an original setup, having the evil wizard have a petting zoo or terrarium full of his polymorphed enemies is always appropriate. ;D
Oh, and Altai'll be happy to lend Beldan the night vision maks whenever he needs it, or at least until he gets his own.

dungeonmaster heathy |

I got an idear re: Beldan being a thief; I can either implement it in a few days, or like after the mission to the drow's and whatnot, when everybody's leveling up and all. I figure Friday night I can do some manic buildingbuildingbuilding.
People still buying stuff and all?....

Altai Iscarni |

How much spendable loot do we have?
Net result of our last adventure: 8000xp and 18385 gold, 7 silver and 2 copper in addition to what you already had. Stig's numbers on this page is wrong, so use this one instead. Sasserine doesn't have spending cap, so go nuts.

Gittik |

OK, bought a Cloak of Resistance +3 and an Amulet of Natural Armour +2 (total cost: 17,000gp). Also bought a royal outfit (extra-large codpiece version) and some very crass jewellery (1,000gp).
"Hey, you like new clothes? Me think look really cool. Me really like thing on knob, though maybe too small. What you think?"

Elgan Dreadwood |

Working on it, I swear. <sigh> Not only do I have to up at least 2 lvls, but Elgan hasn't bought new toys for at least three lvls! He still has 22,000 GP from LAST time! BEFORE the 18,000 from THIS time! :)
SO, question is, do we have time for Altai to help make us new toys? (paying lower costs,) Or are we just shopping? (meaning no time for MAKING toys ourselves) Also, I'm thinking of taking Brew Potion as my 'extra' feat from switching to PFRPG rules. Since we do seem to buy a few, and I can make almost any of the basic +stat ones, AND healing potions, I thought it might be a good thing?
"Naw, iz jes' fine chere'. Yeh don' wanna go an skeer 'em until Afteh yer nekkid!" Elgan grins at Gittik.

Stigwold Mæch'Hæmmær |

"That's some c%~!."
"Ken et, laddie."
<Stig proceeds to get plastered while waiting for the call to action.>
"Tharstin?"
<Offers up whatever rotgut he happens to have at the moment.>
...
<Sometime later he accidentally quaffs one of his enlarge person pots and destroys whatever furniture he was slumped in.>

dungeonmaster heathy |

yeah....wtf....Stiggy tore an internal oblique and got an inguinal hernia killing the Scarlet Shroud, and Oso did a number on his rotator cuff doing one of those criticule things....they both have to p.t. a little bit.
Stiggy's healed up from heal spells, but still has a little bit of orchitis.

Altai Iscarni |

"So, I've been thinking a bit." Altai waits for the groans to die down before continuing. "Who can our heart-stealing nemesis be? We have two sets of clues - one concerning his motives, and another concerning his capabilities. The motive is clearly to create animosity between the churches of Kord and Wee Jas. As we recently experienced, this has been quite successful, but probably not as much as the killer hoped. As we have played a major role in keeping the hostilities under control, I'd say we are advancing up the list of targets, so we need to stay alert. A more pertinent question is why anyone would want to sow enmity between those two churces in particular. I think the nsawer is that both provide for the city defense, and that weakening both will make Sasserine vulnerable to outside attack."
"The other set of clues is connected to the impressive abilities of the heart-taker. He is clearly incredibly strong, but is at the same time able to move and act without attracting attention. The first might indicate a giant, but the second rules that out. Similarly, it can't be some sort of monstrous creature, as it was able to ambush and kill Xever in broad daylight without attacting any attention. Very few creatures have this ability."
"So who is immensely strong, preternaturally stealthy and wishes to bring Sasserine down? I'm thinking that it is someone connected to the giant-backed plot. However, it is clearly not a giant, as they cannot move freely around town. Instrad, I think it is that unseen creature our friend Ulga addressed as 'Stalker', whatever it might be. Think about it - an invisible, and thus by definition unnatural, creature employed by the giants as an agent of havoc. Makes sense, no?"
