The orc closest to the door turns and runs out of the open door and up the dark passage where you came from.
The captain yells, "Coward! Thrak, get over here!" He then takes his javelin, still kneeling on the ground, and thrusts at Thravum in the parallel spot that Thravum hit him.
Attack with javelin: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 (Dex penalty from laying down)
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
The orc by the torch drops the boots he has been holding and dashes forward towards Thravum, who attacked his captain, with his javelin poised to attack. As his foot touches the greased area, he slips sideways.
Dex check on grease: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
He falls, and crawls towards his captain. Once close enough he stabs at Thravum.
Attack with javelin: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Attack disadvantage from prone: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
The javelin pierces Thravum's knee. The orc pulls it out and is ready to strike again.
Grushnak watches this in front of him and finds some sort of inner courage. "Filty Northerner!" he yells, jumping at the orc stabbing at Thravum.
Attack with claws: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Attack advantage: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Jorlitharr |
Jorlitharr surveys the battlefield quickly making a somewhat frustrated grimace. He hurls a stone from his palm over Ruhhk's head aiming for the fleeing orc. Three quarters cover would give the target a +5 AC
Magic Stone: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Critical Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2) + 6 = 10
Seeing the orc crumble to the ground he jogs across the room. N26
Thravum Grimrock |
Thravum is cursing loudly and unleashes a flurry of thrusts at the Captain's eyes and throat.
"Orcish bastards... Rusty... Only good... Dead..."
death to the captain: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 142d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 2) + 5 = 10
Bonus Bravery attack against the Captain unless he's dead after the first attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 182d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 3) + 5 = 9

Assuming we don't hear anything coming after us up the stairs he'll say to Thravum in Dwarven: "You mind keeping watch here at the top of the stairs while I get these orcs out of the halls of our ancestors?"
Jorlitharr will look over the bodies for anything interesting, then begin removing them from the hall through the way we came in. When he sees Ruhhk: "Are you alright? You seem to be acting strange... We might be able to open this door together."
Jorlitharr will rub his hand against the floor near the door and mold the floor so its angled just slightly towards the door allowing Ruhhk and him to get more leverage and be able to push with our legs more without our feet sliding out from under us. This change will last one hour.

Your passive perception does not yield any noises around you, nothing coming up the stairs or moving around.
On the orc captain you find his javelin, his red sash with insignia, hide armor, a pouch containing: 120 gp, a topaz, a small mithral knife with the mark of Durgeddin, and a ring with an emerald set in a lion’s mouth. On the other orcs you find their javelins and the hide armor they are wearing. Plus the boots Olias gave are sitting on the ground by the northern wall.

"Not a bad idea.
We could prop the door open too...you alright? You're not used to be so cramped I bet. You like wide open spaces. I understand."
Strength (with advantage from having a slanted platform for our feet maybe?): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8

The doors wiggle a little but still don't open. You feel like if one more person helped to push on the ramp that the doors would open.

Jorlitharr will stuff these things into the saddlebags (he'll bury the javelins and hide armor with the bodies) he's carrying and fill the party in on what he found. He'll return the boots to Olias. I'll update the loot log

...fill the party in on what he found...
Detect magic on the ring
Oleksandr looks to Grushnak and gestures towards the goat horn.
Assuming Olias will translate
Still speaking in elven:
"You fought well. You are not only Grushnak the Smart but clearly Grushnak the Brave as well. You seemed alarmed to see this horn. What did the captain use it for?"

"We could prop the door open too...you alright? You're not used to be so cramped I bet. You like wide open spaces. I understand."
"Can you jam it open with your earth magic?"
Once Jor. starts casting a spell, Rukkh makes a break for it. He heads across the difficult terrain that does not slow him. Once he gets a little distance he yells:
"Liars and Murderers! You have had your last night of peaceful sleep. I will hunt you down!"
He runs

"You fought well. You are not only Grushnak the Smart but clearly Grushnak the Brave as well. You seemed alarmed to see this horn. What did the captain use it for?"
Grushnak points a long, clawed finger at the horn. "Horn of alarm would have called all of the orcs in the cave to here. Many to fight. Grushnak and new friends would surely have been killed!" He walks to the descending staircase and listens.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 3
"Do not hear any orcs coming. Grushnak the brave lead party to the Great Ulfe now? No orc captain to block the way!"
