In an instant, you all see Oleksandr appear next to the orc captain. His hand is grasping the ram's horn. The orc captain exclaims in surprise.

Oleksandr has an advantage to grab the horn. Make a Dex check DC10.

Male Human Lev 4 Wizard/Mage Armor AC16/Spell DC 14

grab: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
advantage: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Oleksandr deftly grabs the horn. The orc captain roars at him, "You will never leave this room! You will never tell the Great Ulfe what I have done!" He points at Jorlitharr, remembering his last words. "I will kill you all and take everything you have for my own!"

Roll for initiative.

Male Human Lev 4 Wizard/Mage Armor AC16/Spell DC 14

Dirt Wizard/Geomancer (AC 17, PP 15)

"Oh you're right about that. You'll be taking what I got."

Jorlitharr clamps his jaw and bears his teeth.

Olias
Oleksandr
Orcs

Jorlitharr

male Mountain Dwarf Fighter 4

Thravum leaps forward to the Rukkh's left and past the startled Grushnak trying to bury his spear in the Orc Captain's guts.

"waste of damned beer"

attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 252d6 + 5 ⇒ (6, 3) + 5 = 14

advantage: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 142d6 + 5 ⇒ (5, 5) + 5 = 15

The orc captain staggers and falls to one knee. He growls angrily and looks up at the dwarf, spitting blood at him.

Male Half-Elf Level 4 Bard (AC 13; Spell DC 15)

Olias casts Dissonant Whispers on the orc nearest the door we came in.

some really harsh white noise sounding stuff (to hit): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

some really harsh white noise sounding stuff (damage): 3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 4) = 11

Male Half-Elf Level 4 Bard (AC 13; Spell DC 15)

Bonus action: Olias whistles a tune to inspire Oleksander with bardic inspiration.

Male Half-Elf Level 4 Bard (AC 13; Spell DC 15)

Olias backs into the corner of the room. (sorry for not posting this all in one message).

The orc closest to the door gasps and clutches at his head, tearing at his ears and scraggly hair.

Wisdom save: 1d20 ⇒ 2

He shakes his head wildly and screeches. He takes 11 points of psychic damage.

Male Human Lev 4 Wizard/Mage Armor AC16/Spell DC 14

Oleksandr tucks the horn under his arm like a football and (very bravely) runs to the other end of the room.

Using the disengage action to avoid AOO then full move to the wall

The orc closest to the door turns and runs out of the open door and up the dark passage where you came from.

The captain yells, "Coward! Thrak, get over here!" He then takes his javelin, still kneeling on the ground, and thrusts at Thravum in the parallel spot that Thravum hit him.

Attack with javelin: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 (Dex penalty from laying down)
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

The orc by the torch drops the boots he has been holding and dashes forward towards Thravum, who attacked his captain, with his javelin poised to attack. As his foot touches the greased area, he slips sideways.

Dex check on grease: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

He falls, and crawls towards his captain. Once close enough he stabs at Thravum.

Attack with javelin: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Attack disadvantage from prone: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

The javelin pierces Thravum's knee. The orc pulls it out and is ready to strike again.

Grushnak watches this in front of him and finds some sort of inner courage. "Filty Northerner!" he yells, jumping at the orc stabbing at Thravum.

Attack with claws: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Attack advantage: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Male Half orc AC 15

Rukkh takes off after the escaping orc, drawing his sword.

whispers in orcish:

Rukkh stage-whispers to the orc in orcish: "Open the door. We're getting out."

Dirt Wizard/Geomancer (AC 17, PP 15)

Jorlitharr surveys the battlefield quickly making a somewhat frustrated grimace. He hurls a stone from his palm over Ruhhk's head aiming for the fleeing orc. Three quarters cover would give the target a +5 AC

Magic Stone: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Critical Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2) + 6 = 10

Seeing the orc crumble to the ground he jogs across the room. N26

Jorlitharr's rock travels over the shoulder of Rukkh and hits the orc just in the right spot on the head. The orc, still clutching his ears, collapses in the hallway.

One orc down, two to go!

male Mountain Dwarf Fighter 4

Thravum is cursing loudly and unleashes a flurry of thrusts at the Captain's eyes and throat.

"Orcish bastards... Rusty... Only good... Dead..."

death to the captain: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 142d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 2) + 5 = 10

Bonus Bravery attack against the Captain unless he's dead after the first attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 182d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 3) + 5 = 9

male Mountain Dwarf Fighter 4

amended damage from the Great Weapon Fighting Style: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Bonus attack:
amended damage from the Great Weapon Fighting Style: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Male Half-Elf Level 4 Bard (AC 13; Spell DC 15)

Olias aims for the Orc Captain and shoots his crossbow.

Crossbow to Hit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Crossbow to Dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

After Thravum's firstattack, the orc captain falls to the ground. Completely dead.

Olias, you can aim at the other orc if you wish.

Male Half-Elf Level 4 Bard (AC 13; Spell DC 15)

disadvantage to hit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Olias' bolt sails close to the prone orc's head but misses.

Male Human Lev 4 Wizard/Mage Armor AC16/Spell DC 14

Oleksandr stands over the prone orc. He points his staff at him and launches a firebolt.

firebolt to hit with bard insp: 1d20 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (11) + 3 + (4) = 18

firebolt damage: 1d10 ⇒ 8

The orc gasps and burns. He falls unconscious, still smoldering.

Out of initiative.

Male Human Lev 4 Wizard/Mage Armor AC16/Spell DC 14

Oleksandr turns the horn over in his hands examining it.

detect magic?

Male Half orc AC 15

Rukkh tries to open the large door.

You don't detect any magic. This is a horn from some sort of mountain goat's head, about eight inches long, and completely hollow.

Strength check. There are no handles so you can assume you need to push.

The door doesn't budge.

Dirt Wizard/Geomancer (AC 17, PP 15)

Assuming we don't hear anything coming after us up the stairs he'll say to Thravum in Dwarven: "You mind keeping watch here at the top of the stairs while I get these orcs out of the halls of our ancestors?"

Jorlitharr will look over the bodies for anything interesting, then begin removing them from the hall through the way we came in. When he sees Ruhhk: "Are you alright? You seem to be acting strange... We might be able to open this door together."

Jorlitharr will rub his hand against the floor near the door and mold the floor so its angled just slightly towards the door allowing Ruhhk and him to get more leverage and be able to push with our legs more without our feet sliding out from under us. This change will last one hour.

Rukkh seems agitated.

Your passive perception does not yield any noises around you, nothing coming up the stairs or moving around.

On the orc captain you find his javelin, his red sash with insignia, hide armor, a pouch containing: 120 gp, a topaz, a small mithral knife with the mark of Durgeddin, and a ring with an emerald set in a lion’s mouth. On the other orcs you find their javelins and the hide armor they are wearing. Plus the boots Olias gave are sitting on the ground by the northern wall.

"Not a bad idea.

We could prop the door open too...you alright? You're not used to be so cramped I bet. You like wide open spaces. I understand."

The doors wiggle a little but still don't open. You feel like if one more person helped to push on the ramp that the doors would open.

Jorlitharr will stuff these things into the saddlebags (he'll bury the javelins and hide armor with the bodies) he's carrying and fill the party in on what he found. He'll return the boots to Olias. I'll update the loot log

Detect magic on the ring

Oleksandr looks to Grushnak and gestures towards the goat horn.

Assuming Olias will translate
Still speaking in elven:
"You fought well. You are not only Grushnak the Smart but clearly Grushnak the Brave as well. You seemed alarmed to see this horn. What did the captain use it for?"

Male Half orc AC 15

door: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 advantage: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

The ring glows with magic. If you concentrate on this item during a short rest, you will identify it. Or you could put it on and see what happens.

Rukkh wrote:

With the help of the ramp and Jorlitharr, Rukkh pushes open the doors. Sunlight streams in. You see the orc guards standing down a-ways. Myra is perched over the door. Everything looks normal outside.

"Can you jam it open with your earth magic?"

Once Jor. starts casting a spell, Rukkh makes a break for it. He heads across the difficult terrain that does not slow him. Once he gets a little distance he yells:

"Liars and Murderers! You have had your last night of peaceful sleep. I will hunt you down!"

He runs

Oleksandr Blackwind wrote:

Grushnak points a long, clawed finger at the horn. "Horn of alarm would have called all of the orcs in the cave to here. Many to fight. Grushnak and new friends would surely have been killed!" He walks to the descending staircase and listens.

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 3

"Do not hear any orcs coming. Grushnak the brave lead party to the Great Ulfe now? No orc captain to block the way!"
