RETIRED: Saved the Isle of Kortos and now busy creating a very large family with his wives.

Got myself the Spymasters Handbook yesterday and found some story feats that seemed relevant to the current quest.

Magical Enigma, specifically the 2nd quest

or

Supernatural Spy, which is a lot more useful mechanically but a touch less fluffy.

I'm happy to retrain out Arcane Strike for a story feat - I have too many things that trigger on swift actions already!

Sorry, got a bit of a bug while on holiday visits. Just not up to posting. Will be back in a couple of days probably (OR THE GRIM REAPER WILL TAKE ME).

Kick that scythe wielding ass where it hurts! :)

So did you enjoy the last adventure? Thoughts, comments, suggestions, complaints?

I had fun :) I'd say it was well balanced all in all (and despite Ash's crit busting...) It had a good balance of things, including serious moral dilemmas that took time to solve OOC let alone IC, always a good sign!

How do you feel about crafting feats? I know you said you dont put much loot in your games and I've got the bonus progression so if I took a crafting feat like CWI then you could just toss in rare crafting materials - Dragon tears, Pheonix Ashes etc, which could be a more fun way of handing out wealth . I've always been a fan of the crafting system which involved questing to find rare ingredients than just tossing gold and time at something. If you're up for it I'll retrain a feat to CWI and go from there - if not, no biggie :D

I like the idea of making you mini-quest for fun items. I can put them at the top of haunted towers or at the bottom of ooze pits.

Let's do it!

Trading out Arcane Strike for Craft Wonderous Items then. I'll work on a shopping list :)

Yes, please do! And don't worry, we'll get back to some action in-game.

Shocking Robe
Robe of Arcane Heritage Not quite sure how this will work with DD, but probably useful.
Tunic of Careful Casting
Boots of Haste Just so good...
Spellstriking Gloves
Crown of Conquest This things is awesome!
Stormlord Helm
Helm of Electric Radience
Headband of Counterspelling Also might be useful.

Shadowform Belt NOT a short-term project.
Robe of the Archmagi Also not a short term project...

Stopping here for now - theres a distinct lack of Dragon themed items that do anything I can't do within the class/prestige class... Oh well, I can make them however I want.

Boots of Haste as a first project I think!

Would you mind me applying to your Razmir game or would you prefer I didn't? It'd be a good chance to finally play a vampire - if you would permit such a thing.

I prefer one game per player. Just makes it easier for me.

Not enjoying this one?

Grand Lodge

RETIRED: Saved the Isle of Kortos and now busy creating a very large family with his wives.

Absolutely enjoying this one - you just have so many good ideas! :)

And Ash isn't the most sociable sort of guy! If I had submited to your Razmir game it would have been a lot more smooth talking and rather less zapping people. :D

Zapping giant lightning trees, you mean?

Yeah, this treant is quite a fight but you beat the last few mooks too easily so I wanted to challenge you. Lisk is having a tough time getting his teeth on him!

Grand Lodge

RETIRED: Saved the Isle of Kortos and now busy creating a very large family with his wives.

Yeah... very tough time. (See crit that did not confirm!) I just looked the thing up - really hoping the Turtle has some tricks!

Hey, you can't look up monster stat blocks, that's cheatin'!

Also, I don't like when players do that because I often tweak the stat block. For example, this badboy has fast healing 10 but I'm not using it.

Grand Lodge

RETIRED: Saved the Isle of Kortos and now busy creating a very large family with his wives.

I didn't pay much attention to it - I just wanted to check if it had extra sunder stuff that was going to mess with my calculations on the chain shirt. I've got no interest in second guessing your GM-ing, otherwise I'd just run games for myself.

Ash and Lisk are just going to keep chopping until it or they fall - Fast healing or not, just means they get more screwed :) So yeah, I'm not out to optimise or anything don't worry about that! Unless everything suddenly has complete elemental immunity in which case I might cry foul... :P

two things...

1. You may fights int he future where running is the best option.

2. Speaking of running, are you implying you want to ind some mercury for your Boots of Haste?

Not mercury per-say but its a good idea as a material component for Boots of Haste, better than licorice for sure! :D I might try lightning toasted bark if we can actually kill this things...

Was running an option here? I got the impression everyone on the barge would die if I did that.

Maybe it is just old wood...

And no, running wasn't really an option here. The barge would have been destroyed and you alone on the river. I mean, that is an adventure, but Ashlion doesn't seem the type to let all of those people die.

Grand Lodge

RETIRED: Saved the Isle of Kortos and now busy creating a very large family with his wives.

He's not - although as we've seen he's equally willing to kill people in sneaky underhand ways if needed. :) These people on the other hand aren't actively working against him... I think...

And as to the wood - well who knows until we try? That's the fun with this kind of crafting, until you hand me a crazy old book with lots of good sympathetic magic ideas in it I'll do a lot of experimenting!

On that note, can you tell me whether it will work or not? It's hard to write 2 days worth of crafting without knowing if I actually have any success. :) I just need to know for the sake of the story, and Ashlion's temper by the time we get to the next place!

The wood, when burned, will throw sparks and tiny lighting bolts but it won't make your shoes any faster.

Oh, and the Lady of the Barge will be keeping you busy at nights. I am sure nothing bad will come of that.

There's a cleric with remove disease around here somewhere right? :)

That made me laugh more then I should have.

Grand Lodge

I aim to please ;)

I think you may enjoy this fight unless you roll stupidly well.

Sorry for the delay. Will get it up tomorrow.

Merry Christmas (slightly early...). Hope you have a good one.

Hope you are having happy holidays. Post up soon...

Hey, sorry I'm so slow at the moment. Got a lot of work on and finding it hard to get into Ashlion's head-space long enough to write. :(

Am going on vacation! Will be back on February 9th. Will report back then!

This one should challenge you!

Grand Lodge

RETIRED: Saved the Isle of Kortos and now busy creating a very large family with his wives.

Oh dear...

Giant lurking creatures? Always awesome.

Does your stat line accurately reflect your current HP?

Grand Lodge

RETIRED: Saved the Isle of Kortos and now busy creating a very large family with his wives.

Sadly yes - I took a lot of damage from Captain Rajesh and sleeping isn't a great way to cure yourself. As an arcane caster I can't do much with wands either... :(

Don't worry, the GM can provide some help!

Grand Lodge

RETIRED: Saved the Isle of Kortos and now busy creating a very large family with his wives.

Here's to hoping Necromancy can provide some (temporary) help

I am asking this of ALL my games, so don't think this is a sign of waning interest or anything.

What do you see as a successful 'end' or completion of this game? What do you see as a fitting conclusion to your character's arc? Feel free to list goals or things you want 'done'.

Thanks!

Grand Lodge

RETIRED: Saved the Isle of Kortos and now busy creating a very large family with his wives.

Finding his draconic ancestor is the "thing" I think, its certainly the 'obvious' end to his story arc. Obviously there's some pretty cool stuff that could be done after that, but that's where his major motivation runs out so...

He's not really out for either power or knowledge for its own sake - and since I imagine that his ancestor is the one that sent Lisk and has generally been watching him for some time I think Ash finally meeting him and finding out THE TRUTH (whatever that may be) would round things off nicely.

Thanks!

Any smaller goals or achievements you'd like? Obviously we have a long way to go and plenty of cool places to see, but anything you'd like to have crossed off the bucket list?

Want your $0.02 on something if you don't mind.

I want to make an 'Oracle of Music' who (just for giggles) is actually deaf, but has Chromosthesia and therefore perceives all music as colour. It'll be some sort of Heavens Oracle/Bard cross - the question is, do I multiclass, go Bard VMC Oracle, or Oracle VMC Bard?

Interesting....I mean in Pathfinder it is nearly always better to stick to one class then multiple ones.

What is the game you are using them for?

Grand Lodge

RETIRED: Saved the Isle of Kortos and now busy creating a very large family with his wives.

Just an idea I had - possibly a Strange Aeons type thing. I think being deaf and seeing lights would work well with the insanity theme and it would play well with the whole "music of the spheres/planets" themes I'd like to get in there.

Unless you feel like running a game for them after this one? ;) Although I feel like I should offer you a game really!

Do you see this game ending any time soon?

But yeah. I'm up to be a PC in a solo game for you! Are you willing?

Grand Lodge

RETIRED: Saved the Isle of Kortos and now busy creating a very large family with his wives.

I think its more likely that Ashlion gets eaten by some horrible monster and dies after being slowly dissolved by its stomach acid! :P

If you've got any ideas for a game let me know - I'll try and come up with some too and we can see what you'd like. :)

Cool, curious to see what you put me through in revenge.

Grand Lodge

RETIRED: Saved the Isle of Kortos and now busy creating a very large family with his wives.

How do you feel about Intrigue heavy games? I'm thinking something with the whiff of high politics about it. 18th century Versailles type idea.

Now where to set it...

Planning on setting it in Golarion?

Grand Lodge

RETIRED: Saved the Isle of Kortos and now busy creating a very large family with his wives.

Most likely - I need to do a little research on what will fit. Trying to get you to learn my homebrew setting would be a bit cruel unless you're actually interested!

I honestly prefer a publicized setting, if that doesn't offend you. That being said, I am running a game in Vudra which has basically nothing written about it, so feel free to mix and match things. Personally a high intrigue game appeals to me, if you can keep up/provide complicated plots.

If you do run it, let me think of places in Golarion that works.

Taldor Empire is big and complex.
Some of the Tian Xia cities have that palace intrigue going on.
Chelish Empire has firm hierarchies, if that appeals
For a different take, the city of Nambutu in the Mwangi Exapanse might be neat.

Any of those ideas good?
