"Leave Lil'Killa alone!" Yazi snarled at the giant bug as she kept hacking at it.

Hajar moves in, Nasir moves closer (60 foot move), and one of Bartan's cards hits.
The azer throw spears.

Coldtooth in the back wiggles his fingers and makes a slinging motion instead.
Magical atk: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 Dmg: 1d3 ⇒ 3
The insect/worm shrugs off the azer's spears, even the one that stuck, but gives a tremendous flex with its' body at the green splash that hits its' skin. The other azer look back at Coldtooth, who looks surprised as any of them.
Where Coldtooth's magical bolt struck, the wounds on the creature are not closing.
Yazi's swings slice all across the creature's thick segmented neck, and brown fluid showers her and the desert brothers. The monster screamed in both outrage and pain.
Rayhan cast a spell.

You almost feel your sword arm take on a life of its' own as Vardishal rises in sheer terror. A Get of Iblis! He nearly shouts inside your head. A genie-killer from ancient legend! Beware, future Templar - it will smell my legacy on you, and attack you first! You must destroy this abomination! To think an efreeti lord kept such a monstrous creature in his own basement! We lost thousands of brothers and sisters to this predator! Its claws sport adamantine, and it eats elementals right and left!
The creature stopped moving, but some of its' feelers here and there are still quivering, and it is still leaking fluid.

Yazi fairly dug her way into the creature's body to its' core, and the brown blood and viscera poured out of the creature, covering her as well as Hajar and Khayal and flowing down the stairs.
Hajar healed Khayal.
Unmoving, the creature began to slide back into the darkness of the central well. Not because it was still alive, but from the sheer weight of its' body dragging its' upper portion down below.
Bartan's magical attack sizzled on the insect-worm as the corpse slowly slid backwards.
(Out of melee.)
Yazi
|
”Blaugh! No-ble-ble!” Yazi lets out, fidgeting as she hacked and earned a shower a bug guts on her. ”I hate giant bugs. I hate them. So gross.”
Seeing it collapse back where it came from she jumps up and down, waving her axe in the air. ”Nice shot, Dealer!”
GM_Pace
The azer cheer as well, Coldtooth adding "Mage-blade and Double-blades are arena-worthy opponents."
You have defeated a Get of Iblis. Normally, this would earn you the respect of any genie. Even an efreeti. the former Templar tells you.
It should be dead. The Gets were not known from coming back from the dead. Neither were the abominations collectors of treasure. But there is always a chance.
Khayal Bin Haleen
Khayal gasps as his bones and body are stitched back together. He exhales and nods in thanks to his friends. I’m not sure I would have lived much longer.
Bartan Harrowborn
"I am glad you are still with us, Master Khayal. That creature was revolting. I did not recognize it. What do you know of it, Rayhan?>"

Khayal shakes his head at Bartan’s request. Somehow, I don’t think I’ll need to remind you.

Savoring the response Nasir, slips an arm around Yazi's waist, grinning happily as they discuss the monster.

A Foul thing, a creature bred to destroy geniekind. Hajar responds.
Khayal Bin Haleen
Should we see what it may have eaten? Or should we move on? If we are moving on we should at least ensure that it is fully dead. Khayal looks down the whole where it slid, glad that he survived the last encounter.

The blackness down the hole in the center of the staircase is not normal. It's magical. You cannot tell how far down it goes.
Someone has cast deeper darkness permanently down there. Which means, you can't tell how far it goes, nor can you provide a light source to counter the darkness unless it was epic-level. Whomever goes down there is on their own.

"Sounds like we may want to just go up, then. But Yazi, keep your keen eyes peeled for another one of those horrors."
Khayal Bin Haleen
Unable to see into the darkness, and his wounds freshly patched by his brother’s magic, Khayal begins to to trek up the stairs. Though he is a little trepidatious, at least a litttle more so than he was minutes before.
Bartan Harrowborn
Bartan follows Master Khayal, wary for other horrifying creatures that might pop up and attack the group.

(Great! Time to change the Encounter Map.)
(The azers' hair and skin provide light like 2 torches each, Hajar. Add polished brass and light's covered most of the time.)
The adventurers decide to go up, and the brass stairs and brass walls beckon. The humans (and near-humans) fall into their usual formation, while the fire-dwarves preferred to hug one wall as they ascended the stairs.

Spider-sense tingling! While the walls look like they are made of plates of heavy brass metal, one of the patterns of cracks looks more like a Large-sized door. Two doors. One on top of another?
Now who would put two Large-sized doors on top of each other in the middle of a staircase?
Next to Rayhan, Coldtooth stops and turns towards the wall, his nose almost scraping it. Having his hands at the others, all five azer get very interested in the north wall of the third landing from the bottom of the stairs.

Coldtooth points inward at the ceiling at one side, saying "Trap." Another dwarf is too helpful at pointing out the same place, lifting his spear and touching inside the darker tunnel. A great scythe comes out and silently swings at the spear.
Wall Scythe Trap CR 4: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (3) + 20 = 23 Dmg: 2d4 + 6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 = 13
The four other fire-dwarves beat the one with the destroyed spear, cursing in Ignan as they slap him. Coldtooth calmly takes the shortened spearhead and jumps, ramming the metal into an overly large crack inside the tunnel entrance. "Safe now." he assures everyone.
Another azer taps the wall on the other side from Coldtooth, and a second Large door opens - on top of the first, with a single hand-and-foot rail on the right side to assist someone going to the higher door.
Turning, Coldtooth asked the humans "More than one way. Search here or go up on stairs more?"

Khayal Bin Haleen
I agree states Khayal succinctly, as he grabs ahold of the handle and makes his way like an acrobat up to the door. acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
His recently healed muscles effortlessly pull him upward and a smile creaps back onto his face.
Hajar nar Jundi
Hajar enters the room behind his brother. Rayhan follows not far behind.
GM_Pace
The upper secret door passageway takes an immediate turn to the East, the brass turning to dark granite stone. The azers' natural fire easily lights the passageway, once they climb up the handholds.
There's a lot of dust on the floor here, as if nobody has visited this tunnel for centuries. And while the staircase was cool, it seems to be getting hotter the longer you walk down the passageway.
The end of the passageway is noticeable in the heat coming from the dead end.
There's a groove in the dust on the floor about the size of a Large foot, just in front of the dead end. And the ceiling has too many cracks in it.
Like a falling block trap! Right in front of Khayal!

The cracks in the ceiling and floor shift, and what was an accident looking to happen becomes a self-reinforcing mass instead.
(Trap disabled.)
"Trap at entrance and exit. Not common." Coldtooth opined from behind Khayal.
While the brass panels at the dead end feel warm to the touch, almost hot, what stands out is a lever to one side of the passageway.
GM_Pace
The brass plates at the dead end pull aside like a jigsaw puzzle, revealing...another staircase. Unlike the one you left, the heat is noticeably thicker in here, both above and below. A slight breeze starts up from the new staircase to your position as the hotter air displaces the cooler area.
A faint roaring sound comes from down the staircase.
Khayal Bin Haleen
This seems like a place Artel would enjoy, Khayal says before retrieving his rope and heading into the heated hallway.
