Male Human Ninja 1

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 Perception
[dice}1d20+7[/dice] Stealth, but apply the penalty for moving while hiding

Alexander will wave his companions to follow and try looking around the bend.

"Let us not allow these robbers to gain too much distance!"

Perception
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

The four of you start to move down the backside of the hill. About a quarter-mile away, a wagon can be seen slowly moving towards Sandpoint.

Jarek:
You see a group of men gathered around the crown of a hill.

Crunch:
Re-roll Jarek's Stealth roll with total cover 1d20 + 7 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 10 = 22, Satinder Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11, Toban Perception 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17, Hez Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 Xander Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15.

Male Human Barbarian(Titan Mauler) 1

Yep as usual I remain totally oblivious to what is going on around me lol. I might have to burn a feat(I get 20 after all) and take skill focus:perception.

Perception check to see where the wagon went:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Toban:
You see the wagon ahead of you on the road.

"Odd, they don't seem to be in a hurry, do they? Well they are heading towards sandpoint, so we can just try and get there to alert the authorities if we can't catch the wagon to question them beforehand."
Alexander will try to catch up to the wagon, without tiring himself out too much. I do still have a medium load.

Male Human Barbarian(Titan Mauler) 1

"You're right, they don't seem to be in that big of a hurry. I wonder why..." his words trail off as Alexander starts following the wagon. He will catch up to Alexander and then go with him to investigate. "Figured you could use a hand seeing how if things turn violent you'll be useless."

"Useless!? Well I would be hapy to have your company, but useless!? Your words wound me Toban! Alexander says laughing.

Male Human Barbarian(Titan Mauler) 1

"What are you going to do...act them to death" Toban says sarcastically. He liked teasing his friends, especially Alexander.

Male Human

Satinder steps into the trees to hide his travelling chest (I have no idea how to roll a stealth check for a box. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 for a small object? Add my dex mod? No idea.) before jogging to catch up with Toban and Xander. He stares incredulously at the wagon.

"These bandits are bold, aren't they? Trundling along without a care in the world!" He shakes his head in disbelief. "Well, if we're lucky, they'll be too worn out from their brawl with the merchants to put up much fight. We may even be able to resolve this entirely without violence."

Having not anticipated combat today, Satinder is not wearing his armor, and is only carrying one dagger on his person, not five.

As your group approaches, you can hear the two men on the wagon carousing each other.

Crunch:
Toban Sense motive 1d20 ⇒ 9, Xander Sense motive check 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19, Satinder Sense motive check 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20, Hez Sense motive check 1d20 ⇒ 7Jarek Sense motive check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18.

Xander:
You can tell they are sauced.

Satinder:
They seem to be singing slightly off key, and drinking.

Jarek:
You believe the men in the wagon ahead of your friends are acting odd. They appear to be singing.

Male Human Ninja 1

DM mittean:
I stow my travel gear in a bush, and close to within 60 ft. of the party. Stealth check 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22. Do I recognize anyone? Perception check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9.

Male Human (Varisian) Wizard (Thassilonian Specialist - Transmuter/Greed) 1

Hezekiah stays behind his more rapidly advancing friends, but he peers at the wagon and begins chanting to himself.

Once we're within 60 feet, Hez will cast Detect Magic

Jarek:
Jarek moves to within 60 ft. of the group of men. He doesn't recognize anyone.

Hez, when you approach within 60 ft. of the wagon, you cast detect magic.

Hez:
Nothing on the wagon or the men appears to radiate magic.

Male Human Ninja 1

DM Mittean:
I stay back in the woods, observing. Are the people in the wagon about to be ambushed? Are they aware of their pursuit?

In a low voice to the others.
"How should we procede? You guys want to try to just talk to them? Or should we try and listen in to what they are saying first? I will say, they are clearly very drunk!"

Male Human

Satinder nods. "I would like to avoid violence, but we need to confront them. Wandering behind the wagon solves nothing. Xander, I think you should get their attention."

Male Human Ninja 1

DM:
I remain concealed, but switch to stealth mode and ready my pistol and katana, then close to 30' of the wagon, providing there's cover or concealment to do so.

Male Human Ninja 1

Stealth 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

OMG critical!

And keeping an eye on their behavior:

Sense Motive 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

Jarek:
There is concealment to get within 20 ft. of the wagon. You are on the right side of the wagon, in the foliage and bushes. You are a sneaky mother F'in ninja, aren't you? Lol. Who's behavior are you watching? And spoiler most of your rolls, etc. :) They don't know you're there, yet.

Male Human Ninja 1

DM:
Damn right! I'm the sneakiest ninja! Future rolls spoiler will do. I'm sensing motive on the wagon party... but I'm now ALSO sensing to see if foot patrol is planning to do something bad to them 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Alexander will yell when he is close enough to the wagon to initiate conversation.
"Excuse me gentlemen, might we have a word? We hate to be a bother, but we have a pressing matter, and you might be able to help us!"

Diplomacy
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

The men look back at you with a bit of wonder on their faces. "Who the 'ell are you?"

Toban:
They look scared about something.

Satinder and Xander:
You see fear in their eyes at being caught, and guilt.

Jarek:
You see fear and guilt on the wagon rider's faces. They hide their bottles of alcohol from view. The group appears to tense.

Crunch:
Satinder Sense motive 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18, Hez Sense motive 1d20 ⇒ 4, Toban Sense motive 1d20 ⇒ 10, Xander Sense motive 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18.

Male Human Ninja 1

DM:
Seeing their guilty tension since I`m within 20 feet I can sneak attack if necessary during surprise round. I`m readied with pistol. I attempt to identify leader.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 Sense Motive
and
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 Perception
Whatevers appropriate...
OMG critical again? Can I observe arms and armor too?
I`m elite hehe

Jarek:
It's perception. There is no leader, per se'. There is the wagon driver, and his guard. He is heavily armed, with a longsword on hip, a spear in hand, and a dagger that you can see, wearing a breastplate. The driver has leather on, and a short sword.

Male Human Barbarian(Titan Mauler) 1

Toban will wait quietly by his friends and be at the ready in case the situation turns violent.

See he knows when to keep his mouth shut sometimes...lol

Toban:
:)

Male Human (Varisian) Wizard (Thassilonian Specialist - Transmuter/Greed) 1

Hezekiah continues to watch, staying well away from the reach of weapons, both friends' and enemies'. He stays about one additional wagon-length behind the wagon proper.

Call it about 15 feet

The camera tracks across the men in the wagon.
The wagon stops as the driver reigns in the horse, and turns around to look at you. The armored man on the right stands, his breastplate catching the hazy sun. He hefts his long spear.

The camera tracks across the party.
Xander stands calm, not threatening, yet his hand close to the hilt of his sword. Satinder stands at Xander's shoulder, toying with something at his wrist. He licks his lips. Hez stands behind, eyes darting from his friends to the wagon. Toban stands with his right side towards the wagon, ready to draw a weapon in a flash. A small smile plays on his lips as he stares at the armored man.

The camera shows the wagon on the left, large, imposing with the armored man standing larger than life at the edge of frame, his friend in front of him. The party staggered to the right - Toban, Xander, Satinder and Hez at the far right of frame. The armored man's cloak blows lazily in the wind.

In the center of frame lies an untouched bit of trees and brush. The camera cuts in to show the bushes up close. It cuts in again to show Jarek's gun barrel, trained on the wagon.

Male Human Barbarian(Titan Mauler) 1

does that mean we need to roll init?...lol

I don't know yet...depends on you guys. ;)

Male Human

"I see the guilt in your eyes, gentlemen. Surrender, and things will go easier for you."

"We all being civilized men, surely we can come to a peaceful resolution! You gentlemen have procured a wagon that doesn't belong to you. Be it by mistake or not, the gentlemen would like their wagon back.I am sure you two would love to go sleep off your current condition. So I ask of you two gentlemen, please step down and give us the benefit of aiding our friends who own the wagon, and also allowing us the task of making sure you two go sleep off your spirits!"

Diplomacy
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Male Human Ninja 1

DM:
Waiting on a surprise round...
Trying to hear the exchange from my 20 foot sniper position. Surprise round will be mine!
Does anyone seem tohave noticed me?
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Sense Motive 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
...to see if I`m noticed and detect if they're trying to hide it if they have.
ALSO if I hear Satinders voice INT check to recognize it: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Heres my surprise round action if needed (If either wagoneer becomes hostile, and damn right I`ll shoot first:) Shoot armored driver 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8 +5 IIRC hero point, and Damage if I hit 1d8 ⇒ 3 and SA damage 1d6 ⇒ 5
Then for initiative 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 and an action point 1d6 ⇒ 2.

I`ll then close on driver if still up and switch gun for katana during move. Attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20 for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Male Human Ninja 1

DM:
Ouch, thank God I`m close enough to be shooing the guards flat fooled touch AC!
And to confirm critical on that weak 2 damage lol 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Hey, I know ya have to declare action, hero, and luck points up front, which I did (seeing that waste of an action point), but can destiny points be spent reactively like in Star Wars?

The armored man sneers. "Well if it isn't the fat professor, the twitchy little know-it-all, 'Alexander the one-hander' and...of course...my man Toban. How's your cousin, Toban? Cause I thought she was pretty tasty." He laughs like a donkey, slapping the drivers shoulder.

Toban:
You recognize the armored man...he was drummed out of the city watch for being inebriated on duty. His name is Verik.

Everyone:
Hero, action, luck and destiny points can all be used retroactively...so you can roll, preview, hate the roll, and do a re-roll. Show both. Or add in the +5 from hero, or the +1d6 from Action, and include it in the calculation. If anyone has any questions in regards to that, go ahead and post them in discussion. :)

Jarek:
Pistol has a threat range of 20, so no critical threat on the 19. Sorry. :( No one seems to have noticed you...as far as you can tell.

Crunch:
Satinder Perception check 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12, Hez Perception check 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5, Xander Perception check 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16, Toban Perception check 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13.

Male Human (Varisian) Wizard (Thassilonian Specialist - Transmuter/Greed) 1

I apparently need to clean my glasses

Male Human Ninja 1

DM:
That was for the katana. Reread it. lol Man I wanna shoot this guy for being a prick. In his disdain does he seem to mean ill? Is he eyeing them in preparation for action?
Sense Motive 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

Jarek:
His disdain is real, but he doesn't seem violent.

Male Human

Satinder snorts. "Given his sister's profession, your taunt only reveals that you have to pay women for your release. Hardly something to boast about."

"Well you leave me at a disadvantage sir. You seem to know my name, and have what vaguely resembles wit I might add, but I don't know yours. How about we drop the bravado, and go sleep off our intoxication like good drunkards? I'd hate for you to have to deal with the four of us in your current state!"
Alexander says with as much heroic flair as he can muster.

"Sod off, you son of a monkey. Your mum and his cousin's had plenty of my 'release'...and I ain't dealin' with no one! If you think I care that this ain't my wagon, you must've been playin' for audiences in Riddleport." The man brays again. His friend sniggers quietly, although he appears much more concerned with your numbers than the armored man.

The driver speaks quietly to the armored man.

Hez:
You hear him mumble something about getting out of here.

Xander:
You hear him mumble something about getting back to Sandpoint alive.

Jarek:
You hear him mumble something about getting the wagon back for Vender later, and getting home alive.

Crunch:
Satinder Perception check back 10 ft. 1d20 - 1 + 8 ⇒ (3) - 1 + 8 = 10, Toban Perception check back 5 ft. 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3, Hez Perception check back 15 ft. 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 2 - 1 = 16, Xander Perception check back 5 ft. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21, Jarek Perception check back 20 ft. 1d20 - 2 + 7 ⇒ (19) - 2 + 7 = 24. All vs. DC 15 base.

Male Human Ninja 1

DM:
Still waiting. Confident drunk... but seems harmless. If party goes offensive Im still shooting first.

Male Human (Varisian) Wizard (Thassilonian Specialist - Transmuter/Greed) 1

Hez steps up next to Satinder, speaking to both him and Alexander. "I have a spell that should, rather harmlessly, put both of these pillars of the community on the posteriors. Shall I?"

He reaches into his spell component pouch and pulls out a small piece of cloth wrapping, slightly greasy from the butter inside.

"You better not be tryin' to put a hex on me, you chubby witch." The man laughs again, then stops short, his smile gone from his face. "Wait...are you all serious? You're takin' the wagon? Son of a - "

He turns away from the party, and hurls his spear mightily out in front of the wagon, where it lands some distance away. The man teeters, barely keeping himself from toppling from the wagon. He disembarks clumsily, and is joined by the driver. They each retrieve a dark bottle from under the wagon seats.

The armored man glares at all of you. "I'll get you for this." He takes a deep swig from the bottle, gasps and shakes his head to clear the burn of whatever he is drinking. Then he spits on the ground in front of you. "I swear it on Abadar's grave."

They turn and stalk off to the north, retrieving his spear along the way.

"Well I think maybe two of us should follow these guys into town and the others should return the wagon. Hez and I could probably neutralize these two without a fight with our talents, so might I suggest that we keep an eye on them while Toban and Satinder return the wagon?"

Male Human

Satinder nods. "Agreed. Toban, let's send our merchant friends back on their way."

Male Human Barbarian(Titan Mauler) 1

"Sad how far people let themselves go, eh Verik. Toban calls after them an in armor. As Xander states his idea Toban shakes his head.

"I'm going to have to disagree. I think we should all stay together. It will only take a moment to return the wagon and in their current state I don't think they'll get very far. I do think it best to mention what happened here today to the Sherrif since I'm sure this isn't the first time Verik has tried something like this."

Male Human (Varisian) Wizard (Thassilonian Specialist - Transmuter/Greed) 1

Never split the party!

I must agree with Toban. While I feel confident that my magic is sufficient to the task, I also know it to be fickle enough that, should fate not smile on us, we might be hard-pressed indeed. I think telling Sheriff Hemlock of the altercation is the best option.

Male Human Barbarian(Titan Mauler) 1

Exactly what I was thinking hez...lol
