He values friendship above himself, and is willing to lay down his life for those he cares about. -------------------- Background -------------------- Alexander Edwin LaCroix was born to a beautiful human chelaxian dancer and stage actress named Giselle Windsor and a charismatic vagabond adventurer named Reus Eriksson in the Chelaxian city Magnimar. The two were never married due to insistence from her father, Edwin Windsor, to not ruin her life by marrying this "unscrupulous" man. Nonetheless as luck would have it she wound up preganant, and had to take time off for "health reasons". Rumors begin to swirl, but alas, a baby boy was born. Her father, a very religious man, wanted the family name to stay in high regard. So he arranged for her to marry a Sarenrae cleric named Devon LaCroix. Devon was a kind and caring man, and instantly fell for Giselle's beauty and kindness. Alexander was born, and despite his circumstances of birth, His grandfather beemed with pride. He was beautiful and had an angelic presence he would say! This of course was true, as Alexander had inherited angelic blood from his father's side. Alexander grew up under the tutelage of his grandfather, a devout Sarenrae worshiper himself, but his mother would arrange for his real father to see him from time to time. It was during these visits that Reus bestowed upon Alexander some of his knowledge of the world and taught him his brand of swordplay. Reus had a big influence on Alexander, and that shaped his desire for a life of adventure that led to mastery of using the sword. This shaped Alexander into being the man he his today, a brash young swordsman with flair, yet true to the idealogy of Sarenrae and the values his grandfather instilled in him. Just as his mothetr before him, Alexander took to performance arts just as well as he took to swordplay. Blessed with good looks and charisma, he was a major draw anywhere he went to perform. Recently Alexander had decided to try and create some publicity by announcing that he was taking a break from acting, and he planned on travelling the world. He proclaimed that he would spread the glory of Sarenrae and make the world a better place! Alexander was to perform one last show before leaving Magnimar, however, due to a midnight tryst (Alex's self proclaimed weakness is a fair lady.) with Lord-Mayor Haldmeer Grobaras's daughter Chandra Grobaras the night before the show, he was accused of rape and promptly arrested. Fortunately for Alexander, he was proved innocent with the help of Satinder Hawkes, a local investigator, who managed to get Chandra to admit that it wasn't rape, much to the chagrin of the Lord-Mayor. After that ordeal, He decided to go to his family's vacation home in Sandpoint in the hopes of exploring new lands and perhaps catching word of adventure. He has always been drawn in by the small town feel and the beautiful Varisian Bay. He currently has been performing at the Sandpoint Theatre, and although he is accustomed to performing in some of the grand theatres in Chelaxia, he has enjoyed his stay in the small town. Though he keeps his ears peeled for any hint of adventure. The actress, Isabelle Avanti, accompanied him on his trip to Sandpoint. They have worked on stage for quite sometime and are good friends. Although many rumors have swirled that they are an item, it is not true. Having grown up together on stage they have a strong friendship, but his love for her is more akin to that of a cousin or sibling. Alexander is very protective of Isabelle, and although not usually a man quick to fight, this is not true in regards to what he thinks of as "protecting" Isabelle from lecherous men. Cyrdak Drokkus, the proprietor of the Sandpoint Theatre and actor himself, gets along well enough with Alexander. Still it is apparent they have a onstage rivalry. Alexander thinks of himself as the better actor, and a most certainly has more to offer to the lovely women of Sandpoint. |
