I don't know if I've told you all yet, but I shall be off to PaizoCon this next weekend and in Alaska until the 15th, so posting may be spotty. Feel free to DMPC me as necessary, and please don't think I'm abandoning you all! I've really enjoyed my role in the campaign so far :-)

DM Haldhin |

Tried to post last night but didn't hit the thread somehow. Apologies for that.
So please read the IC post first, then come back here. Big post incoming.
Okay, so after everyone climbs the ladder into the city, a few things happen. I assume you share what you have accomplished with the Guard leaders, including the map you found. They can now destroy the ladders, which causes the orcs to retreat as morning approaches. The orcs know they hold the advantage at night over the human villagers, so they're going to get some rest and likely start another assault around sunset.
The guards report that two of the beacons have been lit, so help should be on the way. They should receive news from their allies soon, but they have not heard anything yet.
-----
All of you also get time to rest, you are fully healed, and you gain a level! If you want to do anything else, just let me know.
The warrior's name is Thren, and he is very grateful to you. His wife is still alive, and she is healed. His daughter is largely unharmed, and seems much more like a little girl now that she's (more or less) safe with her parents. Thren was a successful adventurer before he started a family, and he gives each of you a reward from the treasures he collected. Choose one item with a value of 1,500 gp or less (1,508 is fine, I don't want to quibble over small number, but please keep the total close to 1,500. The item could be a standard item, masterwork item, or magic item.
For saving Sara, Agrit gives you a necklace. The center is a Pearl of Power (1st level). You can use the pearl of you are either holding it in your hand, or when wearing the necklace.
You have also managed to find four fuse grenades, two pellet grenades, and two tangleburn bags.
Finally, you found three potion(s) of cure light wounds, and a wand of cure light wounds (1st level) with 14 charges.
I am assuming you searched all your foes, so you recovered coins and gems worth 1,134 gp. Sadly, all shops are closed until after the siege.
Let me know if you have any questions.

I'd like the Daredevil Softpaws, please. :)
I'm going to a convention today and tomorrow, and won't likely have time to level up until Sunday evening.

Done. And thanks for update.

Racket |

Having trouble picking a feat at this level, any suggestions? I'm going to get Improved Dirty Trick as a bonus feat from my next level of Rogue, and then take Underhanded Teamwork.

Zavier Vitoly |

Thanks generous GM! Personally I think making Brawling a +2 bonus would have been a much better balance. I'll take the +1 with thanks though.
For my item can I pick up an Armbands of the Brawler? A bit cheap but Zavier would like it.

Zavier Vitoly |

Level 3
+9 HP
+1 Will
+1 Bab
Beast Training +2 bonus on combat maneuver checks and CMD against orcs <-- Considered metagaming to make this giant:humanoid right from the get go but couldn't do it. Will need to get to level 7 to catch up!
Combat Expertise Feat. Real boring but real necessary for brawlers.

Racket |

Figured out my feat. Stone Dodger. Doesn't help me much until Grok takes it as well, but I gotta start going into the Teamwork feats at some point. :)
I'll update today at some point.

Zavier Vitoly |

Loot!
1500 item: Think everybody but Katrezra decided what they want.
For saving Sara, Agrit gives you a necklace. The center is a Pearl of Power (1st level).: No prepared spellcasters really so... do we sell it? Maybe it'll work for alchemists?
find four fuse grenades, two pellet grenades, and two tangleburn bags: Racket. The rest of us are low low dex. Though maybe Katrezra could use the tangleburn bags to try and keep enemies off him?
three potion(s) of cure light wounds: Zavier will take one.
wand of cure light wounds (1st level) with 14 charges: Katrezra I think
so you recovered coins and gems worth 1,134 gp: 283.5 gold each for four players.

Katrezra |

I will go ahead and take a Robe of Infinite Twine, cause you never know when you're gonna need an endless supply of tying material!

Zavier Vitoly |

AHHH.. hold on a second, Can I switch out my level 3 feat from Combat Expertise to Dirty Fighting?
Better in every way!

DM Haldhin |

(Thought I answered this last message? Yes, everything is refreshed - full rest)
Just to make sure I'm clear on tactics, Grok is going around the side with a shield (essentially a broken counter-top from one of the destroyed market stalls). Zavier and Racket are going through the overgrown area. Is that correct?
I assume Katrezra is going around one of the sides due to the movement restrictions in the overgrown area. Give him until tomorrow to respond, then we'll move on.
I'm also going to post a map for this one. Planning to use Roll20, and I'll use your avatars to mark your locations.

DM Haldhin |

Congrats on being an uncle, lots of fun time ahead.
So my posting is going to pick up this week. Work was kind of hectic past couple of weeks, and my son was sick. Sort of an intersection of bad timing around here.
Anyway, work will be slowing down a bit, and I am going to aim for getting back on a 2-day posting cycle more often than not. Once every four days is too slow for me, and I'm sorry it's been like that for a while.

Zavier Vitoly |

Question about the catapault. Can we get past it or is impassable on the diagonal? If Zavier did want to clamber or go under it or whatever then what what rule would be used?
Hell, what would be needed to SMAAAASH through it as another option?

DM Haldhin |

The giant technically receives 2 slam attacks, and nothing in the rules specifies that appendages = slam attacks, but I think that's kind of implied.
Anyway, I only let the giant have one slam since Zavier called out an Arm Bar specifically. Good work! :)
Also, in case I am not being clear in my descriptions, the giant has continued to get angrier as his orc handlers have died. The creature is now literally frothing at the mouth and wild - I applaud Grok's attempt to communicate with it, but it's very apparent to the characters that the giant is beyond rational or coherent thought at the present time.

Racket |

I'm starting my new job this morning and don't have a ton of time to post, can someone repeat my previous stabby attack for me?

DM Haldhin |

We have reached the point where I want to discuss the next adventure in the series. The sequel takes place shortly after the conclusion of this one, so we'll pretty much head straight in.
A few questions:
Is everyone okay with continuing?
How do people feel about adding more characters to the party? Are you happy with the current group?*
What can I do differently/better to make this more enjoyable?
Feel free to respond here, and/or send me a PM as needed.

Grok. |

I'm happy to continue, I think this is going great. I would prefer an interactive map on something like google drawings, but it is not a big deal to me.
I personally think we have a fairly balanced party and good players. 4 players is great, I like small parties. I prefer to only add more if someone had a friend that wanted to join, rather than adding just for the sake of having more players.

Zavier Vitoly |

I think the game is going great and really appreciate the speed that it's moving. Thanks for taking over.
In terms of expanding the party size. I really enjoy what we have going here. The only thing I'd consider is maybe some arcane support. But that's completely optional.

Racket |

Agreed, I think it's going very well. And yeah, I don't see any reason to bring others in. You're doing a good job, and I'm enjoying playing the character, and the interactions with Grok and the others. :)
