This structure looks to be dedicated to Torag, God of the Forge, Protection, Strategy. The dwarves believe that Torag created the world at his great forge, striking it again and again with his hammer to get the shape he desired. As rocks tumbled and the sparks flew, the dwarves were born, made of stone with bellies full of fire.
Edmund walks forward to get a better look at the structure. Not more than ten feet from the group.

"Torag?" Anevia asks with slightly puzzled optimism. "I heard he was the diety of earth stuff but I didn't think his worshippers took it this . . . literally." She shrugs. "Still, if this is a temple or what have you, its probably a lucky find for us. It also might mean there's a clear pathway from here back to the surface!"

Who built this temple or structure? Are they still here? We should tread carefully.

"Careful everyone, while it may be a holy site, we cannot tell how old it may be. Perhaps some monster is using it as a lair or I dread the thought of a clever creature using it as a trap. Tread lightly." Griffith seemed genuinely concerned

"By Torag1" the dwarf exclaimed.

"Mother must have put this here for us, but...why? A tunnel dug with tools, and now a structure built in his honor, this must be a reprieve from the mother. Yes, this must be so. The mother always provides."

Belg almost seemed lost in a zealot's blind fealty, but once Anevia spoke up, it snapped him back to reality, although begrudgingly.

"What do you think, that we all spring out of holes in the ground?"

This door, unlike the previous one, opens with relative ease, as the mechanism for this door still seems to function. As it slides open, the cold and stale air seeps into the antechamber, sending a quick chill down everyone's spine. Inside there is a large stone altar covered in Torag's hammer symbol set up along the far wall, along with a dozen or so cracked and collapsed benches in front of it. The thick layers of dust everywhere suggest this place has not been disturbed for some time. On the sole remaining intact bench sits what looks to be some kind of humanoid covered in large priestly robes, sitting motionless facing the altar. The figure's build suggest it was either a dwarf or at least a large stocky man.

In a reaction that was quickly becoming second nature, Eldric stepped five feet back and let loose a pair of arrows at the foe. As he did so he called out "Undead dwarf! Kill it!" He mentally chided himself for letting him think that the area might have been safe...

Both of Eldric's arrows slam into the undead creature, but only the first looks like it in any way bothered the creature, and even then only mildly. The second arrow looks like it was utterly ineffective.

DR is a bastard at level 1

Seeing his arrows do so little a look of panic crosses his face. "Kill it with fire!"

I'm not sure if you care about order or as long as we go.

Griffith Storms into room after hearing the shriek, moving past Horgus. He makes his way to Eldric, blocking off the entrance and creating a barrier for Edmund.

He places the tip on his zweihander on the ground, praying against the pommel. His halo channels his angelic energy causing a pale blue flame
to envelops his blade.

"Your time has come to an end, fell creature of shadow. May the light judge your path." Raising his blade ready to strike at the creatures once it approaches.

I do not, so long as you're not jumping ahead of any enemies. Party initiative rolls at this point are more or less for initiative "Blocks" that can take their turns in any order they want, just to keep the game moving along as much as possible. Sabrina, Sarah, or Edmund could all go next, and its just a matter of who posts first.

I assume this means you're reading an action to attack it when it comes within melee range?

The Huecuva, upon seeing this, shifts its focus from Sabrina to Griffith as the display of holy power seems to enrage it even more.

"Belg, sounds like they'll need your magic more than our bows in there. I can steady Anevia. If it's too much, we'll form a fallback position here, you can get everyone out and then Aravashnial can cast safely. Horgus, fall back here. Keep an eye out behind us, but it should be safer on this side of the door if there's truly undead inside."

So saying she moves to steady the woman until she can brace against the rocks, and points the elf towards the door.

Assuming that Sarah can spend her turn marshalling the NPCs, the goal is to get Anevia and Aravashnial line of sight on the inner door, and horgus out of LOS of the inner door, while making room for belg to move inside.

You can get them moving into position. Horgus looks mildly annoyed but will move, Anevia will brace herself against the wall and start scouring the rest of the area for threats, and Aravashnial will say "Just give the word and I can drop some summoned support for everyone in the building!"

The sudden attack from the undead creature confirms Sabrina's suspicions from her magic.

Blasphemer. Your evil desecrates the home of Torag. Sabrina says as she moves forward to attack.

attack and smite evil: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
I believe it will bypass DR if it is evil

Smite evil adds +3 deflection to AC (bringing her to AC 21)

Sabrina's holy blade sears into the Huecuva's side, burning deeply into its skin and letting off a quick burst of light as it connects. The creature howls in pain as the blade hits it, and visibly convulses at the mention of Torag. As it turns to face Sabrina, she can clearly see that she shattered some of the creature's ribs and removed a huge chunk of flesh from its torso with that strike.

Also, since it was an undead creature, your first smite attack against it does double smite damage, so you actually did 8 points of damage to it. This is only on your first attack however, so your next hit will do 1d8+4.

Thanks, I always forget about that

Male Human Wizard 2

Walking into the room and seeing all the activity gives Edmund pause.
He tries to figure out why everyone is up in arms about a cleric. Then the creature turns and more than one person exclaims that it is an undead creature.
Edmund recognizes it and understands what it is capable of. He knows that firing a spell into combat is dangerous in the best of situation. This creature poses a deadly threat and the risk is warranted.
