That is one big lizard! Did you see those teeth snap at Vinnie! Joseph step forward to the edge of the water and tries to use his special dueling technique to finish off the lizard.

GM Ietsuna |

Joseph's shield knocks the creature into next week and Vinnie piles on to make sure of it.
Combat over
Purpurrup looks at you all I told you there were predators here. You still want me to go swimming? Her voice is somewhat shaky as she breathes rapidly in and out. Chirp runs up and jumps into the satchel at her hip.

![]() |

”I believe that we showed you that we will protect you! Please retrieve the item we seek!“ Eltran pleads.
diplomacy : 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

![]() |

Palio stares at the crocodile, "Well, that was exciting!"

![]() |

Yes, that was dangerous. I'm worried that it may not be safe for you to swim down there by yourself, Purpurrup. I guess we should probably come with you if we can't think of any other way. I suppose I can hold my breath for awhile, though it sure would help if someone has an extra dagger or something pointy that I could use. Punches don't work very well underwater."
Vinnie will look around the area to see if there are any piercing (or slashing) weapons among the fallen gripplis or halflings that he could make use of. He'd prefer a Small weapon and of course if there happens to be any Monk weapons that would be ideal, though that seems unlikely.

GM Ietsuna |

There were six Small spears and one Small masterwork battleaxe on the battlefield. With no enemies in sight at this moment I will allow taking 10 on the swim checks.
Purpurrup again cautiously enters the water and dives down. After only a very short time she has located the casket. The chains that bound it have long since rusted away and the casket lies upon its lid. You will need to physically lift it from the muck to get it out.
Swim checks to get down, strength checks to lift the casket. Aid absolutely allowed

![]() |

Vinnie takes one of the small spears to arm himself and then joins the grippli in the water. He's not too strong however, so he offers to aid one of his companions with the lifting.
Swim: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Str to lift, aid: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (15) - 2 = 13

Joseph grumpily removes his armor. Days like this makes me question why I even left Brevoy. He removes his shield, That shield is too nice to drag into the scummy water.... He then dives into the water.
Swim (take 10): 10 + 3 = 13
Once he is down there he attempts to pull the box out of the water.
Strength Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

While people are standing around or swimming into the water, Palio goes around collecting some rocks and places them into a pile near the lake. He then finds a good piece of bark and carves out the words "Palio in the form of rocks; God of the Sun and Moon", then places the carved plaque onto the small pile of rocks.

![]() |

Eltran looks at Palio’s creation and is obviously confused.
”Palio, please tell me that this is no blasphemy and you are not taking the title of my goddess!“ Eltran asks with a raised eyebrow.

GM Ietsuna |

Purpurrup, Vinnie and Joseph manage to push the stone casket over, revealing the idol within. With a lot of effort the idol is brought to the surface and sees the light of day for the first time in centuries.
You maneuver the idol to the shore and place it upon solid ground.
Akmon appears to you once the idol is situated on dry land. Well done, and thank you. That is one of my tasks completed. You have my gratitude.
As Akmon fades another vision of the past comes into focus. A lone cyclops wanders past you with an immense bag slung over one shoulder. He does not seem to notice the writhing of the bag, or the faint, muffled sobbing from within.

![]() |

Palio smiles mischievously at Eltran, "Of course not! Remember what that cyclops told us? Our actions here have an impact on the future, or in our case, the present. I'd love to cause some long lasting confusion that I can see ripple into our time." he then walks over to his creation in the present, "Plus, didn't you know, the cyclops worshiped me as the god of the sun and moon, although they could have done a little better with this statue, must have crumbled over time." he says with a wink.

![]() |

Eltran thinks for a moment but it is clear that he does not fully grasp what the norm just told him. He shakes his head and watches the others emerge from the water and is astounded about the new wizen of the giant Cyclops and an innocent person in a bag!
” can we do anything to save the person that is in this bag?!“ he asks worried.

![]() |

GM, can you please remind us if this latest vision is connected to the other missions we have from the cyclops?
Vinnie concurs with Eltran. "If we can help them in any way that would be good. But how? We are seeing in to the past I think, so this has already happened..."

GM Ietsuna |

The three missions are to 1. Expose the idol of the Sun and Moon to either the sun or moon. 2. Say a prayer over the tomb of the ape/cyclops hybrids to consecrate the family lines. 3. dispose of the broken idols and artifacts below the Hall of Broken Gods. The vision was not connected with the tasks, just a glimpse of the past through your magic time-machine vision. You cannot interact with the visions, they are just a window into what happened here before. Akmon is, of course, an exception because MAGIC

![]() |

Eltran shakes his head.
”This was truly a very very bad society at the end! Let us proceed to our second mission!“
Eltran starts walking to the tomb after getting directions from Akmon.
”By the way Palio, I have to admit that the cyclops that we are seeing here have nothing in common with the description that you gave us when we were with the venture Captain but I might also be mistaken or I misunderstood as I have a very bad memory!“

![]() |

Palio walks next to Eltran, "I guess what I heard wasn't true! So many myths and legends in cultures, hard to tell what is fact and what isn't"

![]() |

”Yes, yes ... you are the expert. I have to admit that I have to study more like you do!“ Eltran says while nodding to Palio.

GM Ietsuna |

You arrive at the temple. Despite the many, many years that have passed the temple has withstood the ravages of time remarkably well. The enormous doors stand wide open and light comes in through cracks in the walls providing enough light to see by. The ceiling is about 30 feet overhead and the whole room feels huge and cavernous.
This enormous room is little more than bare stone. Two doors lead from this chamber—one to the south descending down a wide stair and one to the west securely shut. A broad stone table, still discolored from ancient bloodstains, sits in the middle of the room with stone chairs laying about it in disarray.
The Sight of the Cyclops reveals that this chamber was once decorated by frescoes depicting cruel violence against cyclopes and smaller humanoids alike. In addition, at least a dozen cyclopes feasting on the flesh of their kin with horrible glee fill the pavilion.

![]() |

Vinnie gazes at the scene with unease. ”Creepy!”

![]() |

"This is truly disgusting!" Eltran says and shakes his head!
Eltran starts searching for the tomb of the ape/cyclops hybrids.

GM Ietsuna |

Map is up on slide 5. Table is 8 feet high and small and medium characters can walk under it with no problems. The squares with rubble in are difficult terrain where chairs have crumbled.
As Eltran enters he sees a large stone table 8 feet tall and a number of chairs around it. Over in one corner 4 halflings lean on the walls, talking. Three (yellow, blue and green) all wear similar clothing, while the fourth is dressed differently, more like a warrior. Picture on Dramatis Personae sheet.
