as you all search the south room you find no treasure, no baddies, no traps and it is a table with plates and glasses all over the table with no food on them.
continuing the search... on to the next room

Semar Kalanul |

Google maps is not liking mobile while traveling so I will only be able to update myself on the map rarely. If someone would be so kind as so keep me with the group, I appreciate it. Semar gets a free roll to detect traps when he gets within 10ft so I'm not too worried about stepping on the wrong thing. Also if I am delayed on posting you can gmpc me or cartmanbeck (Ingrid) can post for me possibly.
Semar will follow the group, taking 10 on perception. (Result = 30)

as you all search the next few rooms, there is no traps, no enemies, the rest of the rooms are bedrooms or they are little work rooms, as in a table and a chair or 2 chairs. There are several people in this building cowering in fear, though they are not hostile to you, they are just in their rooms with the door closed getting away from the monsters they saw.

Sharathiel |

"I know this is difficult for all of you. . But could one of you come to the front room and identify the bodies there. . Is one of them Asheron Coyle? "

they tell you about a guy named Darius Finch who they think it came from. This leads you back to town.
I need diplomacy checks asking about Darius Finch please for those who are good at it and where to find him and who he is, etc. I also need survival checks for those who are good at it.

Sharathiel |

Shar is completely useless with survival and diplomacy

Ingrid Desertblood |

Ingrid will follow the group, not really useful at asking townsfolk.
Survival: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

Darius Finch
He is the Well-Dressed Gentleman is a member of a disgraced noble house. He is little more than a rake with a silver tongue.
"The Gent," as he is often called, is well connected. He seems to have friends in every social circle in Absalom. Pay him enough coin and he can find out anything you want to know.
His name is Darius Finch. The commoners affectionately call him the wealthiest pauper in Absalom. His expertise in manipulating people and ferreting out the city's secrets are as legendary as his spending binges when he gets a few coins to rub together.
Later with all your talking and tracking you are led to an Ivy District--an aristocrat named Belfor Vittanis to know more about the painting, but you cannot find Darius Finch yet. The two had work with each other involving the paintings.
At Belfor's Townhouse: The trail of the mysterious courier leads to an elegant townhouse on Peacock Court marked number 20. It appears that is occupants are in the middle of some kind of high society party. Numerous carriages line the circular drive leading up to the colonnaded entrance. Some of the drivers and servants stand together, sharing mugs and gossiping, while within the grand home music and laughter drifts out the street on a soft breeze.
You all get to the front entrance of Belfor Vittanis and a dozen servants are guarding the entrance. Yes, how can we help you?

Semar Kalanul |

Before they walk up to the gate, Semar will snap his fingers and instantly change into a well dressed and groomed human noble. Disguise self spell like ability
"Stay a couple steps behind me, I'll get us in."
Semar clears his throat, and walks confidently towards the servants. He speaks with the rhythm and diction of a poet, and the arrogance and elitism of nobility. His accent, however, is slightly foreign.
"Ah yes, we are here to meet with Belfor."
diplomacy: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (20) + 17 = 37

Ingrid Desertblood |

Ingrid follows Semar, trying to look like she doesn't have four arms and two huge longbows strapped to her back.

Sharathiel |

Shar follows Semars lead. Aristocrats and their parties. Let Semar or Kaydanna handle this. What a bother.

DoubleGold |

Semar gets in easily with a good bluff and a disguise.
Area 2. Entry Hall: Mistaken Identity (EL Variable)
Massive double doors of polished dark oak bound in brass open into a wide, vaulted hallway. A grand staircase leads up to a carpeted balcony directly across from the entrance. Closed double doors exit the hall to one side and open doors on the opposite side lead into a large, elegant chamber filled with men and women dressed in expensive outfits. Others seem to be competing at how little they can wear, walking a fine line between indecency and fashion. Music from a group of minstrels competes with the boisterous hum of merrymaking.
Four drunken partygoers stumble down the grand staircase, slurring their words as they debate the merits of wood versus canvas. They spot you and ask if you are here to re-enact a battle.

Sharathiel |

Still following Semars lead. . From past experience together Semar knows if he needs me to turn an annoying idiot into a toad, all he has to do is ask. at least that is what Shar will love doing once he develops that much magical power. . Right now his only non lethal option for dealing with idiots is to cast a Grease spell on the stairs and watch the ensuing hilarity
He refrains from casting the Grease spell for now. . But it is an option.

try as you might, they are too drunk to care, and they can barely understand you. Finally they understand you are looking for Belfor. Yeah, he is, I don't know, do you know? as one drunk asks another. Oh, yeah, that way and you can't tell if he is pointing west or north because he hand is swinging in a drunk motion. One tells you how to get to him by avoiding the crowd, but he is so drunk that you can't tell how accurate his directions are, as there is an 72% chance he is right. The other shows you how to get there, but you have to go through a very large crowd of people and some roughnecks wanting to start bar fights and he is only mildly drunk, you know he is right.
Avoid the crowd with 72% accuracy or go through it? DM will roll percentage dice if you avoid said crowd

Sharathiel |

Avoiding the crowd

DoubleGold |

okay so you make it all the way to the kitchen, the last room before you would reach him. You run into some drunk and mentally defected guests. Ah, Dinner is served as they point their knives towards you all. All 4 of them. And you can see they have steak served up and a bunch of non meat products, but none human.

Sharathiel |

Shar waits to see if Kaydanna and Semar can defuse the situation

Ingrid Desertblood |

Ingrid stretches her four arms and puts her hands on her two longbows, threateningly, but does not draw them yet.

DoubleGold |

They are not evil and they let you pass, you get to the man you are looking for. Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm about ready to uncover these paintings and you know that if you uncover the paintings it will unleash evil, but this man does not know you either, so he may or may not believe you.

Sharathiel |

no map. can't tell how close we are
trying to make an impression Shar
-------------------------------------------------
next to the Man, grasping his hands to prevent him from unveiling the painting. Trust me! You don't want to do that!
I wont even bother with a diplomacy, intimidate etc rolls.. (Shar has no charisma someone else better step in and talk to him)

Zee says, "The creatures depicted in the painting you sent Asheron Coyle came to life and killed him. They were only put down after a serious fight, turning into puddles of paint as they died. If these paintings come from the same source it is to be expected that sort of thing would happen again."
He's got a pretty high Bluff skill modifier, but he's not bluffing. So ...
Diplomacy check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Once again the RNG aligns with the forces of darkness.

Kaydanna Krysstalla |

"Good Sir, I must concur with my companions here. Those paintings are not what they seem. They are evil, trust us. If you unleash those paintings for others to see you will put everyone in a position of harm. Let us deal with this, expunge the evil here, and then you can continue with your affairs."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 and nada...

Ingrid Desertblood |

"Yes, we had to fight the damn things ourselves. You must believe us!"
Diplom: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
