Chumtooth rends his foe, adding to the ichor and blood-filled water. The lifeless body sinks quickly to the bottom, where small fish dart in and out, snagging gibbets of flesh. Kaede and Dantes stand ready, but stay clear of the melee. Alexander moves to help Faengrim and pierces the enemy deeply, but it remains in the fight.

Faengrim quickly finishes off the wounded fishman even as Janus sends a bolt through the water to hit the most menacing-looking of those remaining. The bolt explodes, sending the sahuagin reeling, but still very much alive.

The remaining sahuagin scatter to the currents, except the one that Janus hit, which surges forward to attack Faengrim. The attack misses as Faengrim twists to avoid the trident.

Pushing aside the curtain, Chumtooth finds a dismal chamber that serves as the quarters for the almost three dozen members of the tribe. These old and young sahuagin look to be malnourished and inoffensive.

Janus hurls his bomb at the big male, but the blast falls short. Chumtooth and Faengrim make short work of the female that came forward. The other female snarls and charges at Janus! She slashes with her claws, but her hasty attack misses. The big fellow moves in, provoking an attack of opportunity from Janus (if he has a melee weapon handy) and attacks Faengrim with his trident! The blow is a savage one, very nearly impaling the shark-kin, and Faengrim feels the flesh around the wound starting to calcify and turn to coral! (Faengrim takes 18 hit points of damage and 4 points of Dex damage! In addition, he must make a DC 16 Fortitude save or be slowed for one round!)

Seeing how vicious this particular sahaugin is, Dantes bolsters his captain's defensive with a touch.

Augment to give Chumtooth a +2 natural armor bonus that stacks with others, lasts for three rounds.

Janus downs a potion and disappears from sight. Chumtooth slashes and bites, though only the slash draws blood from the vicious fish-man. The bite does not penetrate the creature's scaly hide. Dantes taps him on the shoulder, and Chumtooth feels his skin harden slightly. Ignoring the hardening of his own joints, Faengrim slashes at the giant sahuagin, adding to the wound inflicted by Chumtooth! As with Chumtooth, only his first attack gets past the creature's hide.

The female bites and slashes at Faengrim, since she can no longer see Janus. Neither of her attacks connects.

The giant turns its attention to Chumtooth and slashes at the captain with its trident and bites in return. The trident bites deeply, inflicting a grievous wound! Chumtooth feels his flesh begin to calcify. (Chumtooth takes 18 points of damage and 1 point of Dex damage!) The creature then turns its attention to Faengrim, slashing again with the weapon and raking with its two free hands. One set of claws manages to connect, and Faengrim winces in pain. (Faengrim takes 9 points of damage.)

Chumtooth, I need a DC 16 Fortitude save or be slowed for one round.

Chumtooth snarls as he feels as if he is suddenly trying to move through thick mud, instead of water.

He lashes out at the big sahaugin with his harpoon, still trying to kill it.

Seeing the nasty effects that the sahaugin are having on the officers, Dantes tries to slow them down. He casts a spell that sparkles as it streams past the crew and streams past the sahaugin before exploding behind them and coating them in the enchantment.

Casting glitterdust, targeting a center behind the sahaugin so it doesn't affect the PCs. DC 16 will save or be blinded.

Sorry for the prolonged delay. I had to take my wife to Tampa, FL to see her eye doctor (about 10 hours away) and we decided that since Orlando is so close, we'd stop by Disney for two days. That, plus travel time, cut into my posting ability.

Alexander begins a sea-shanty to encourage his companions. Janus fires at the big sahuagin, the bomb exploding as it contacts the creature's toughened flesh (thrown splash weapons are a touch attack). The explosion injures both and enrages the sahuagin, but both survive the attack. Chumtooth stabs at the larger fish-man, but cannot get past its natural armor still. Dantes blasts the sahuagin with glitterdust, resulting in the female being blinded! Faengrim attacks the big one, but his attacks, too, are turned away by the creature's armor!

The big male goes into a battle frenzy and stabs at Chumtooth and Faengrim with its trident, dividing its attacks between them. It also bites at Chumtooth and slashes with its remaining two arms at Faengrim. Chumtooth is bitten once. (Chumtooth takes 6 points of damage!) Faengrim is slashed three times! (Faengrim takes 27 points of damage!) The female comes forward and flails at Janus, managing to claw him once. (Janus takes 4 points of damage)

Just a point so I'm not getting away with anything. Explosive missile does not turn the missile attack into a ranged touch attack. It trades the against touch ac of the bomb for the weapons range and added weapon damage.

Okay, I'm going to let the damage from the earlier missile stand, since it was my error, but in future, we'll play it RAW.

Alexander finds a place to slip into the melee (unfortunately flanking isn't possible) and attempts to hit the male, but his blade is turned aside by the creature's natural armor. Janus backpedals and fires at the female, the shot going wide and narrowly missing the bigger creature. Chumtooth strikes at the big male but misses. Faengrim redoubles his attack, but cannot seem to hit the male sahuagin either!

The male retaliates, stabbing at Chumtooth with the trident and connecting! (Chumtooth takes 15 points of damage, 2 points of Dex damage, and must save vs. Fortitude (DC 16) or be slowed for 1 round!) Chumtooth feels his muscles calcifying again. It follows up with a savage bite, tearing at Chumtooth's flesh! (Chumtooth takes 6 points of damage!) With blinding speed, it turns and follows through with a stab and two slashes at Faengrim! The trident again bites into flesh, and one of the claw attacks gets through. (Faengrim takes 15 points of damage from the trident (no saves necessary) and 7 points of damage from the claw attack! Faengrim is down and bleeding out!)

The female, denied her initial prey, takes her anger out on Alexander, biting and tearing at him! (Alexander takes 8 points of damage!)

Alexander lets out a "tch" as his blade doesn't penetrate he takes a small step back and weaves in some a bit of magic. Suddenly a cloud of sticky golden glitter bursts around the two enemies.
