It does apply to Neil, as well. He came in with your group but was delayed in leaving for the Caves.

![]() |

If you folks are taking an extended break, we can talk about how you spend your downtime, but if it's just a day or so, then don't worry about it.

Neil Ogea |

I'm down for headed back in there the next day.
I'm mostly just trying to build a connection with the other PCs so they can trust me as an ally.
So far, it's hard to get them to say more than a sentence. :)

Theo Sylvanblood |

It's been over a week since we've heard from Morgan. Do we need to PM him again? It should just be him that we are waiting on. Sand already mentioned that he would be gone for a while.

Neil Ogea |

Are we still alive here?
What's the defined posting Rate?
I know it isn't 1/day, but is it 1/two days, or 1/wk? If there is nothing set, can we set one so we're not waiting ad nauseum for one person to post?

![]() |

Sorry, I generally try to check in once a day on weekdays. Just got particularly busy today. We can certainly set a posting rate of every two days if everyone is comfortable with that.

This would work for me.
I assume it would be a soft restriction. Late players would just get NPC'd, yeah?

Late players getting botted is how I've always done it. Typically, I use it as a, "I'm no longer waiting for you, and I'll move the game forward with whoever has given input right now."
So, for example, if we're deciding to attack or sneak around as a group, and two people say attack, but no one else chimes in, then we attack. Those who didn't contribute by the end of the set posting Rate simply get skipped in the decision making.

![]() |

Sorry, been dealing with out of town relatives for the past three days. Hopefully, I'll be able to eke out some time tomorrow.

Theo Sylvanblood |

Damn it, Neil. You clearly stole my luck. ;)
Also, have we lost Morgan? Feels like it's been forever.

Neil Ogea |

I think it's just bad timing with the playtest drop yesterday. All of my games died yesterday; not a single post after the release (except this game!). And I haven't seen Morgan in my other game as well.
So I think he's just busy with the playtest.

Me: Can't roll above 10 to save my life
My Cat: Randomly bats die across the floor: 20
Are the RNGods mocking me?

Neil Ogea |

I've been doing sacred flame wrong this whole time. I've thought it was a spell attack, but it's actually a dex save!
My apologies. I didn't realize it until another cleric in a game I'm running called for a dex save, and I was confused as to why.

Theo Sylvanblood |

Just in case it isn't obvious, the first D20 roll in my last post is a Wis (Nature) check. Hence the +4 proficiency; x2 from Gift of Knowledge.

Theo Sylvanblood |

The site crashes are real.
I hope GM can slip-in in between all the downtime.
If anybody is interested, I created a Discord server for our game. Just to give us an alternate form of communication. Though, come to think of it, I suppose we already have Roll20...welp, whatever. Here's a back-up for the back-up.

Ore Thornstock wrote:Sure, it counts, but it was Disadvantage (from the ogre being prone), and based on the results from the d20 rolls, it was going to be the 2-roll that 'counted', so no point rolling the other one."Oh, I misread that as you having the advantage. I didn't realize that you are at a disadvantage against prone targets more than 5 feet away. That's kind of weird. *shrug*
Makes sense more or less. If you're adjacent, it's easier to swat someone laying prone, but if you're further away and they're prone, they're a smaller, and harder to hit target.

I have not been able to post anything, not even PMs, since Saturday I believe. I did try mind you. Quite a bit.
Anyway...
Starting yesterday I am on vacation that will last about ten days. Internet access is very limited as it depends on my data plan, my signal and my phone. So by all means, if and when necessary please DMPC away.

Testing...
I had a post all lined up before everything went haywire, but now I can't remember what it was. Oh well, something simple for now.
Edit: still can't post in gameplay thread. Only here.

I am also unable to post in the Gameplay thread, but rest assured that I try several times a day. I am still here.

Phew, lad. That was quite the ordeal. You know you have serious downtime when the thumbnail for Paizo's bookmark is the site's maintenance page. https://i.imgur.com/iNQIr8V.png

*DING* Welcome, everyone, to second level!
Cool. Now my class and background can be in synch.
Cleric 1 --> Cleric 1 / Wizard 1
HD: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Wizard Features: Arcane Recovery
Wizard Spell DC: 8 + 2 + 2 = 12
Wiaz Magic Atk Bonus: 2 + 2 = 4
Spell Book: Find Familiar, Magic Missile, Shield, Ray of Sickness, Disguise Self, Witch Bolt
Cantrips: Light, Firebolt, Minor Illusion
Prepared Spells: Witch Bolt, Magic Missile, Shield
I'll just leave this here for peer review before updating my stats. It's very late, and I am very tired. I doubt this is without error.
Hmm. I just now notice a minor to moderate role-playing hiccup with this multiclass. My background explains my entry-level Wizard skills but I never gave any thought to a spell book. I can't just have a personalized arcane tome materialize out of nowhere.
Going by own background, I guess the most canonical answer is just to go through the replacement steps. Theo must have had a Spellbook at some point. If he doesn't have one now, I guess that means it needs replacing. I'll leave this for player input and GM decision.

Thanks. I appreciate the gesture but the deeper problem is finding a physical tome to write my spells in.
I'm not too worried about it atm. I can get by with my Cleric skills and Wiz cantrips until we get back to town, where I can take steps to recreate Theo's lost book.

Staring down the barrel of Hurrican Gordon as I write this. My posting may be limited this week. I will try to get one in tomorrow, though.

![]() |

Just a note to let everyone know that I am in the direct path of Hurricane Gordon. This should be fairly routine (I've weathered many such storms), but in case we lose power or I am otherwise out for a few days, that's what has happened. If you are in my game, stand tight and I'll be back. If I am in yours, please bot me as necessary.

This is a brief message to let everyone know that I am going to be on vacation from Sunday, 23 September until 1 October. As many of you may be aware, my wife is 90% blind from glaucoma. She wanted to see Walt Disney World through the eyes of friends who have never been (or haven't been in many years) before she can't see at all. So I, she, and 9 of our friends are all going to Walt Disney World for a week!
During this time, my posting will be greatly curtailed, if not nonexistent. If you are in my game, I will continue upon my return, just sit tight. If I am in your game, please feel free to bot me as required.
During this week leading up to my vacation, I will be very busy and may be slowed, but I will try to get a post out before leaving for the week.

F. Castor |

Just my two cents as the saying goes, but I would suggest keeping your posting entirely nonexistent during your vacation. We will still be here once you return, I am sure, so enjoy this time with your wife and friends without having to even try checking this thread and perhaps feeling you should maybe post something.

![]() |

We've got it all... fast passes have been reserved, we're on the Disney Dining Plan, and we have the Memories Photo Pass!

![]() |

Yup! Staying in the Pop Century value resort and we plan to stay from open to close each day. We're also doing Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!

Neil Ogea |

I'm with the others. I'll happily wait for your return, so long as you promise to enjoy every moment of it. :)
