Ack. Just realized Space Fighters are Energy Age -- and we're in the Gravity Age, per the setting.
Messes a mite with my character concept, that -- problem with being piloting a cutter (or similar) is the fact that it's not a solo job (and I'm playing up the racial "doesn't play well with others" thing a wee bit).
So.... trying to figure out how to balance it out -- might go a little more bounty hunter or full-on thief, then.

@mokshus: Yes, they can have weapons adapted to their size. No modifications apply; a laser beam still burns, even if it's smaller and that keeps me from having to plot out an entirely different set of charts. May not exactly be realistic, but I figure it's a trade-off.
@Tilnar: No, I don't believe that we do.

Must confess I've not looked at the ships/piloting recently. You can still be an elitist social pariah, as the one actually doing the driving you get to feel smug and superior towards the mere support crew.
NB: While Alita is done apart from finishing up gear, I'm more than willing to adjust to fill skill gaps.

I have Rrin (the Pershala fighter pilot/thief) statted and ready -- but there's the issue of justifying the fighter-jock mentality and what was meant to be his history (stole experimental fighter for a joyride) given that it's the wrong age.
So, I've started building a human mutant mindwalker now -- but if you'd rather in stock to the original plan, I just need to figure out a way to make a semu-nice editable sheet to post him.

Posting this in all my games:
Some of you may or may not be aware, but my wife has glaucoma which has already claimed the sight in her right eye and is eating away at the vision in her left. To further complicate matters, she had a cataract removed from her left eye, but during the operation, there was some minor temporary damage to the optic nerve. Long story short, it should heal in two to three months, but until then, I am her official reader. She can make out blurred images of people and if they speak, she is pretty good at recognizing voices, but she can't read anything.
Further, I am the only one of us who drives, since her vision started getting worse last year, so I have to take her to any and all doctor's appointments. About once every two weeks, she has to go to Tulane in New Orleans, about 90 miles away (and that's not to mention local appointments, errands, shopping trips, etc.). So if I seem slow to respond or post, please bear with me. If I am a player, bot me as needed. If I am your GM, rest assured that I have not forgotten you. I may just have had a hella busy day.

I should scan the recruitment threads more often to catch gems like this.
I played plenty of Alternity, back in the day...
You still seeking players?
What errata and optional rules are you using? Specifically, are you using 2A, 2B, 2C?

A Seshayan was my other choice, I love those things. I used to have a lot of the old Ecology articles from Dragon (I think they also gave D&D stats for at least some of them), wish I'd hung onto them.
With a catfolk and a Weren though I'm glad I went with something a little more human-shaped. otherwise it would just be Lincoln and the menagerie.
