@Zane: just a note regarding gunnery. You use your pilot rank plus dex only (not your adjusted skill bonus). Pretty much nothing else you can personally do to improve it, though the ship’s computer can halo and the Captain can “encourage” better accuracy.
So if you want to be a good ship gunner, max out your pilot skill.
@*The* Zane: also, if you want to be pilot, Vetch to happy to switch with you. Doesn't matter too much to me. :)
The Zane |
@Vetch-- NO! No pilot for Zane. He's a weapon and armor specialist. No need for Pilot. i realistically put ranks in Pilot as I thought that was the attack skill for spacecraft. But, this still works in case we get another ship or ever have small craft we have to use.
Dash Arcbright |
On second thought, don’t waste any more ranks in piloting. Wouldn’t want to take away from Zane’s skill in Blue Steel, Pectoral Bouncing, or Balls Handling.
Yes, that was “balls” handling, another human euphemism for... you know.

Dash did it. He did it, and Zane can't let this one slide. He MUST again show the virtues of Pec Bouncing.
(FYI: This pales to the video shared by Vetch who posted a great B movie clip early on in Zane's fictional life).
As the man said, MMMM ... no way, that's AWESOME. It's a gift
Actually, if you rewind the video, I am certain you hear the wack-ado guy say, no way, that's Zwesome.
Lastly, nothing wrong with being able to handle your balls. An android Just Doesn't Understand.

Ahh, I feel overwhelmed again. Lol, so many possible things to buy / build. I don't play melee very often.
I originally thought about getting a Swoop Hammer because it's so ridiculous. It's unwieldy so it's a big, bulky, awkward weapon so Draka wouldn't be able to make attacks of opportunity (but THE NAME!) The attack of opportunity I could live with but not the charge attack. :( Page 182 of the Core Rulebook says "You can’t use an unwieldy weapon as part of a full attack (or any other action in which you could make multiple attacks), you can’t attack with it more than once per round, and you can’t use it to make an attack of opportunity." I guess the Curve blade is best?
Also, is a jetpack redundant for Blitz Soldiers? You can't charge attack with a jetpack... or can you?
GM Tyranius |
I would think you could charge with it as you have an actual controlled fly speed. Though that is with normal flight. Cruising flight would be different as you are flat footed and off target.[/ooc]

Draka, don't forget to boost a stat too. Personal Upgrades are very worth it.
As to weapons though, I'm still trying to figure out long arms. I don't know the soldier line up well or their strategies.

@Draka- I believe you can charge and attack with an unwieldy weapon as charge is a full action and not a full attack. Basically you can do everything with them but make multiple attacks and AoO's.
Vetch No-Toes |
Ahh...saw Avengers Infinity War. Long as Zane's ego, fun as Draka's diary...good times. It's fun and good comedic timing and pacing and they crammed a ton into just under 3 billions hours of film.
A-, would see again.

Lucky! I am hearing nothing but overwhelming reviews. The theater here closed down due to mold and floor getting ready to cave in on everyone. So no movies for awhile. Though I am sneaking out into the city here in next couple of days. Half-tempted to see if they have an English speaking theater.
GM Tyranius |
This! (Link) sure didn't help with taken out our theater as well.
GM Tyranius |
Yea they suck. Happens a few times a year here. That just happened yesterday. Nature's exfoliate. That craps finds its way into everything as well.
Tyranius |
This one just got over with today. I was in one in 2008 that lasted for over a week. Still have to work through them as best as you can.
The Zane |
I read the rules on Rifles with the Sniper Special.
I am fairly certain I treat this as a normal weapon (Laser in this case) and can basically have it replace my Azimuth Artillery Laser as my primary weapon. A big improvement in damage, but I lose distance and critical (but gain in charges used and bulk).
SNIPER
Weapons with the sniper special property can be fired accurately at very long ranges if aimed properly. If you aim the weapon as a move action and then fire it on the same turn, use the value listed with the sniper special property as the weapon’s range increment. You can still fire a sniper weapon as normal, but it has only the range listed under its normal range entry when you do.
Dash Arcbright |
Regarding sniper weapons: the big difference is that sniper weapons have the unwieldy property.
UNWIELDY
Weapons with the unwieldy special property are large and awkward, can’t be fired without cooling down first, or are otherwise difficult to use with repeated attacks. You can’t use an unwieldy weapon as part of a full attack (or any other action in which you could make multiple attacks), you can’t attack with it more than once per round, and you can’t use it to make an attack of opportunity.

Alright. Finally got Infinity War in on a very blurry 144P copy. Though I could still tell what was happening and only saw 2 heads stand in front of the screen for a short duration.
Very excellent movie!
Vetch No-Toes |
Also, I read Vetch's post and I'm not seeing how we are at bad angles with sniper rifles. GM ? Can you help me out ? I think the position gets most spots except the "Tube" in the middle.
Just think there is a hill in the way so the snipers can't shoot too far south. They should be above where Messalina is, or thereabouts. They seem to be covering space that we've covered.
However, could work if we engage foes then retreat.
* * *
Also, yeah, let us know when we can discuss the movie, because it was good and fun and we've been waiting 10 years for this.
Dash Arcbright |
Haven’t seen Avengers yet. Hopefully this coming weekend.
Regarding sniper positions, the current plan is for Messalina to find the enemy and for Draka and Abebto lure them out into the open with a defensive retreat to cover. Then Zane and Dash play god.

It's like a theater but you arrive 30 minutes before the movie and order dinner. All of the seats are assigned, but there's a ton of room. Seats are huge and coupled together. You can put the armrest up so it's like a loveseat.
I'm not crazy about 3D. The glasses don't fit over my own glasses very well. I totally understand the headache thing. I don't our bodies are used to it.
Dash Arcbright |
Ah, I see. There are some theaters like that out here, but I prefer snacks over dining food during a film. Less distracting.
Also, it seems most theaters in LA are assigned seating now, or maybe it’s just that I only go to assigned seating theaters like UA or Pacific Theaters.
GM Tyranius |
We are about 10 years behind in Iowa. We just got beer in our theater back home.
GM Tyranius |
@Zane- Vetch is talking about the circular cliff faces that are enclosing the area.
GM Tyranius |
As long as you are bold you can post an action in the initiative order. Yea, unfortunately this fight you were a little slower than the enemy.

Oh MAN, did I just read a gem of a post from your guy's GiantSlayer campaign.
This paragraph right here sums up the shenanigans that I have been reading.
This really did make me laugh so hard I got tears in my eyes.
"You coming, dwarves? They say that some river fey turn bilgewater into ale-ambrosia, and when you suckle upon it, your beard grows three inches and other races find your company tolerable."
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19 Bluff
GM Tyranius |
Thanks Zane, yea this pool of acid can get nasty. Especially if someone goes unconscious in it. Digging someone out will still burn and cause a portion of damage to even helping someone.
GM Tyranius |
Haha. I am about to restart Pillars again. Each time I make it through the first town with the creepy tree and get pulled away to something else and have to start over.
GM Tyranius |
Strange that they went this route but good to know.
GM Tyranius |
Though I guess to be fair on it all but like 2 of the level 1 weapons are unwieldy anyways, so no AoO and full attacks.
