Torrel the Sacred Exorcist |
North is fine.
GM Turmoil |
Judging from the shelves lining the walls, this darkened room might once have been a storeroom, though its contents have long since succumbed to the passage of time. A crack in the northern wall has apparently let in some rainwater, which has collected in a large puddle on the floor.
In the back corner of the room sits a dog-sized lizard with two horns, one on either side of its head, and green scales that crackle with sparks of lightning. The lizard looks towards the party but stands its ground, a small ball of electricity forming on its tail.

Terril is able to dodge the blast of electricity and his Suli heritage allows him to shake it off. Goran moves up to the group to help out and Torrel flings a bullet wildly. The lizard tries to zap Laureglyn in retaliation to the deep wound she caused.
Shock @ Laureglyn: 1d8 ⇒ 1
Nonlethal electric damage, DC12 Ref for half
Just as the group has the lizard surrounded, the door to the south swings open and two humanoid lizards join the fray. As soon as the door opens, you can smell their fetid stench, they obviously don't believe in bathing. Their frames resemble that of a cave lizard, with long tails and crests on their heads and backs, with dull gray scales covering their body. One of them shouts in an odd tongue while both of them take aim and immediately throw javelins at Goran. One misses and bounces off the wall and the other hits, but the weak throw only dents his armor.

Racks for weapons line the walls of this chamber; above the racks hang various shields, pieces of armor, weapons, and standards on display. Most of the racks are empty, but a few weapons remain in place. A horrible stench fills the room as well, akin to the smell of rotten eggs mixed with the reek of an open sewer. After sorting through the various arms and armor, you find a masterwork silver dagger, a masterwork light steel shield emblazoned with a leaping dolphin, and a banner depicting a bird made of living flame. You find little on the bodies of the troglodytes, nothing more than a couple javelins and their homemade clubs.
The door in the eastern wall leads to the tower’s central staircase. Although the lower portion of the staircase has collapsed, cutting off access to the ground floor, the staircase is whole on this floor and above.
The room to the south is an octagonal shaped room and is covered in a fine layer of dust. It’s clearly been abandoned for a long time. Laureglyn's keen eye spots a trap. Had they entered the armory from the south, they would have been beset upon by a javelin trap at the door.
It's possible to climb to the next floor just as you did before, or you can take the stairs now.
Laureglyn |
"We should bring these things back with us... even an old banner might be worth something to the Society."
Terril the Everchanging |
Terril nods in agreement.
"If there's nothing else of intrest on this floor, I say we take the stairs up."
Laureglyn |
"Sounds like a plan, just be careful on the stairs, they may not be safe with all the damage in this place... "

Two stone altars, one black and one white, sit at either end of this large chamber, which takes up two wings of the tower on this level. The crumbling remains of wooden benches sag in front of each altar beneath rotting ceiling tapestries. Carved symbols and writings snake along the walls. The burnt corpses of two troglodytes lie on the floor in the center of the room.
Two piles of bone suddenly stir, rising up to take on human shape and bursting into red-orange flame. Their jaws open in soundless screams, they draw scimitars and move towards the group. As they come close, you can feel the searing heat coming off of their bodies.

Despite the hidden door being locked, the group manages to muscle their way through it easily enough. A living, moving fabric seems to cover the ceiling of this half-collapsed chamber, which stretches northwest into darkness. The pungent smell of ammonia rises from the droppings that litter the floor.
