The flickering ball of flame splashes into the furthest guard's face. Fire damage: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 1) = 7
Trifle also summons a look of concentration as a bright lights flashes in front of the closest guard's face.

Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 SUCCESS
Fortitude: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 SUCCESS
Both guards evade the magus's spells.
Ivy still lies unconscious in the corner. The wolf still huddles in a state of panic in the other corner.
The guard who dropped his rapier steps back and pulls his bow. The other steps away from the flaming sphere. Both shoot arrows at Jenny!
Arrow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 MISS
Arrow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 MISS
But both miss. Meanwhile, the toad reappears next to the wolf, causing it to yelp in fear!

Jenny is commanded to attack the agent to the east, and she dashes across the room, attempting to jump onto the table to reach him.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

talon: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 2 + 1 = 13damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3

Khakil's swing is dodged by the guard, as is Jenny's and Cott's. The elemental finds its mark, however, and the guard clings dearly to consciousness.
Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 SUCCESS Still the guard evades the burning sponge-orb!
Fortitude: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 SUCCESS And still does the other guard resist Trifle's flash!
At the sight of the toad, the wolf flees with all possible speed out the door (drawing AoO's from Jenny, Khakil, and Trifle if she is armed). The guards, meanwhile, step back once more and fire another volley of arrows.
Arrow at Khakil: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 MISS

Cott, intending to finish the fight quickly, moves 15 feet east and swings with his club at the eastern aspis agent.
Club: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Cott commands his summoned elemental to attack the prone foe as well, and the animated pile of stone moves immeadiately to Cott's left, rises up to slam into the battered man.
Slam: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 damage: 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Finally Jenny is commanded to attack the western foe. She hops off of the table to the north west, acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 and lashes out at the fallen foe.

The elemental vanishes, leaving only a few scattered pebbles behind. Cott praises Jenny, and moves to assist Ivy. He searches her pockets for her wand of Cure light wounds, and after locating it, uses it once to revive her.

Cott grabs the keys and fits them each into the lock until one finally turns. I'm assuming one actually does. If not, ignore the rest of this post. He enters the cell and appraises the prisoner's physical appearance, and state of health.

Scoot isn't trying to decide if he's really Besnik. He's trying to figure out if Besnik was a double agent for the consortium, who had infiltrated the society, and that the reason there was no ransom demand for him after being captured was because the consortium planned to execute him as punishment for whatever it is he did that earned him their displeasure

Khakil holds out his wayfinder so that Besnik can clearly see it.
"Man, have you ever had to deal with Janera? Did you hear what she's been up to now? She's ridiculous: pray you never run into any minotaur when she's around!
Listen, Besnik. Farabellus sent us her to clear out the Aspis and find out how they are using portals to get to and from this plane. We're here to claim the temple for the society's personal study. He mentioned that a mousy looking fellow named Besnik preceeded us, but that you were probably dead, so there was no point for an extraction mission. Luckily that is not the case."
Khakil extends to him a trails ration from his bag.

"Now get your shit together man. We're heading deeper into the temple to clear out the remaining consortium members. If you're interested in giving them back a bit of what you got, come along. We could use another sword arm.
If you're not up to the job, the path back out of the temple is clear behind us, but you'd have to make your own way. We can't spare a member of our party to escort you. And you'd have to hope that your way home is still open. I don't know how long our personalized return orbs persist. If yours has faded while you've been imprisoned you'll have a hell of a time getting out of here.
So. Which is it going to be Besnik? Some good old fashioned revenge and finishing the job you came here for, or running home with your tail between your legs? "
-Posted with Wayfinder
| GMTrex |
Besnik is VERY skeptical, but warms up to you once he gets a look at the mess you've made of the room. As planar essences persist indefinitely and he's barely able to walk, he opts to wander a mile into the desert to find his essence and return to Absalom.
You now find yourself in any empty "prison" with a pile of corpses. The floor of each cell, as well as the floor of the main room, is marked with a strange runic circle of unusual design.
Now would be an excellent time to assess your health situation.

The toad literally frowns at you. "No."
Circles like these are actually fairly common throughout Golarion; they do not provide the power to summon creatures -- they only aid in trapping them once they've arrived. Demons have a habit of teleporting, hence the summoning circles (which they can't leave) and the cold iron (which they hate).
