Five-star Hound of Tindalos. Er, GM. Whatever. | RoW Encounter Map | A Fistful of Flowers slides

DC 25 Perception:
Some of the items on the table have moved since you were last in here. How did that happen?

As Kappi approaches the double doors in the north wall he freezes a moment — they are trapped with a magical spell! But almost as soon as he reaches out to try and disable it, the glyph flares for an instant, then fades again.

Undaunted, Kappi opens the door once he is convinced the glyph will not explode in their face.

Five iron thrones are arranged around a circular map in the floor of this large room. Translucent, three-dimensional images of cities and villages hover a few inches above their locations on the map. A large pile of bones and skulls, roped together by sinew, sits atop the center throne. Behind this throne, columns set against the wall form a semicircular alcove filled with a swirling mass of white mist.

detect magic:
The map in the floor has a moderate divination aura.

DC 15 Kn (geography):
The map depicts the nation of Irrisen in its entirety. While the scale of the map does not allow for clearly viewe individual creatures, it is three-dimensional; from a lower angle one can see the terrain take shape across the landscape.

DC 25 Spellcraft:
One might be able to use a map like this to scry upon a specific creature, were that creature within the borders of the map.

Kappi looks confused for a moment (more than normal). He whispers I swear things have moved... . He looks wildly around the room and listens for a second. Then he blurts out I know you are in here! . He whispers to the others explaining (mostly to Vojtek) that he thinks someone is hiding or invisible.

Come on out. Olley olley oxen free!

    DC 13 Kn (arcana):
This is a bone golem, a construct. Bone golems are usually (though not always) crafted as guardians of tombs — and sometimes formed from the very corpses they guard.

    DC 18 Kn (arcana):
Like most golems, bone golems are immune to any spell or spell-like ability that allows spell resistance. Positive energy slows it, while negative energy heals it.

    DC 23 Kn (arcana):

Hah, no worry, Kappi; it happens to all of us. :-)

Kappi has just released his tomahawk when Ali starts to speak, and the party watches with dismay as the axe sails into the construct, making a glancing blow among some fragments of bone, but not much serious damage!

Kappi watched with amazement at the Elf magus smashed the bone monster with an adamantium lightning warhammer.
Even after all this time the lad was never completely sure on how to talk with exotic elven woman who could wield blades and magic with equal skill. But now she was hefting a great hammer of war? The lad's conception of how the world works was askew.

Kappi tried to make a mental note that it was completely okay for elven females to use war hammers and they were not just the tools of dwarven fighters.
He was pretty sure the older generation couldn't handle it, but he was determined to keep an open mind.

Kappi thought he had a pretty good throw with his tomahawk, he was a little dismayed at the lack of damage. With Ali's warning about Adam Aunt'M, Kappi was pretty confused but figured he needed to change tactics. He hastily checked his pouches looking for something, ANYTHING!
While he couldn't find his holy handgrenade, he did pull out a crystal flask so beautiful he almost felt bad throwing it. It was a container of liquid ice. It was his first time trying it out and he hoped Desna would give him a little luck.

Reminded by Edward in Slack: positive energy slows the golem, meaning Kappi only takes the first attack above.

The web mostly slides off the golem!

Point of Order: golem is still under Misfortune Hex, is it not?

Sorry TS, Kappi did 5 foot step and was moved on map. I didn't specifically say that in my post. I will try and remember to do so.

Character Sheet | Tactical Map | XP

Vojtek is a bid bewildered by the sheer amount of magic flying around this battlefield. The TWO ice potions and Davosh's somewhat disgusting web spell notwithstanding, the barbarian steps into a hearty set of swings with his magical axe with hopes that his steel can support the arcane effort.

    Great Axe: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 13 - 2 = 16 for Damage: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

    Great Axe: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 13 - 2 = 31 for Damage: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

At the last moment he snaps shut his trap and avoids further damaging his already unfortunate dentition.

    Confirm yo: Great Axe: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 13 - 2 = 23 for Damage: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

He is shaken by the unfamiliar amount of magical prowess, and renews his commitment to never cross these men. Or Ali either, he supposes as an afterthought.

Davosh gives aid to Kappi while Vojtek takes his need for maxillofacial attention on the golem! It stands yet, however!

Ali shifts positions, then hammers the golem.

    Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
    Damage: 1d8 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 4 + (6) = 13
