ROUND 1
Having no idea what this thing is, Ali simply buys Edward's suggestion. She pulls out a vial of alchemist's fire and lobs it at the beastie.
Ranged Touch attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Davosh the Wanderer
Kn Local: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
"BURN IT!"
Davosh, with surprising alacrity, draws and throws a vial of alchemist's fire. R. Touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7, and pretty much drops the vial. DMTS, do you want to handle the splash miss or should I?
GM thunderspirit
Ali's alchemist's fire misses the beast (and I'm not gonna be an a$$hole and say it doesn't break on the snow so no splash damage, LOL), but it does splash onto the creature.
Davosh does the same after letting everyone know the troll's weakness, but he too fails to strike it squarely, although it deals some collateral damage as well.
8-9-10 splashes Kappi: 1d12 ⇒ 9
8-9-10 splashes Kappi: 1d12 ⇒ 2
Ali's toss lands near enough to Kappi that the rogue takes a point of splash damage as well.
1 K,2 V,3 D,4 E: 1d4 ⇒ 2
The troll seems amazingly light on its feet as it somehow five-foot-steps in the difficult terrain and attacks Vojtek, clearly enraged by the barbarian's face! With another tremendous roar (Perception: 1d20 + 10 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 10 - 4 = 9) it attacks with its mighty spear, then follows up with its vicious maw!
spear vs. FF AC: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
bite vs. FF AC: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Its spear comes crashing down into the Northman's flesh, but the bite gets nothing but air!
Vojtek <--
Kappi
Edward
Davosh
Ali
moss troll
Party up! Remember that the area is difficult terrain.
RAGING VOJTEK!!!!
Vojtek steps forward deliberately, stomping his feet into the crusty snow for purchase. He advances to within range of the creature, and with the only fire at his disposal the fiery rage burning in his breast, he brings that to bear on the troll.
Rage on, move 15' and attack.
Power Attack with Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 5 - 1 = 15 for 2d6 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 + 2 = 17 damage.
Kappi Matarito
Round One
The young rogue is taken back by a fragging tree suddenly transforming into a huge monster. Kappi watches his comrades inexpertly throw missles at the huge monster. He curses a bit and rubs some snow over the alchemical fire that splashes on him. Gritting his teeth over the painful burn he hefts his own bottle of fiery death and figures he will show his comrades how to do it.
Throwing attack 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 1 = 20
Alchemical fire 1d6 ⇒ 3
1d6 this round and 1d6 the next round right?

Round 1
Edward dismayed yet again at being bunched up in a group and not following the plan of circling around to come in from the cave's backside. Starts moving away from from the living shrubery.
Is this any way to treat people who want to meet with the Winter Witches to have a civilized discussion?
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9<~~~fails horribly
As Edward moves, he draws his flask of Alchemist fire. Hoping to have better aim than Ali, or Davosh.

Davosh the Wanderer
Davosh posted above. It wasn't pretty.
GM thunderspirit
Vojtek's movement provokes from the troll! (Not that he'll care, LOL.)
AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
AoO dmg: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
The barbarian returns the favor, his blade sinking deep into the troll's hide as it bellows in pain and fury.
Kappi's aim with his throw of alchemist's fire (which as a ranged attack while threatened would normally provoke an attack of opportunity) is true, and the fire burns the troll; in fact it burns it more than the rogue thought it might! Kappi and Vojtek each take a point of splash damage. Kappi, that's an additional d6 next round, yes.
Edward's words appear to get lost in the wind howling out of the structure to their left. Resignedly, the Palacle draws his own flask of alchemist's fire, realizing he is not currently threatened .
21
Davosh, your last action was before the troll acted, so you and Ali are up!
Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein
ROUND 2
Ali draws and hurls another flask of the fiery stuff.
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Round the Second - Davosh
S asked me to post this - odd coincidence, Davosh, Kappi and I were all in the same place at the same time. And we were hanging out with 2 of our teachers from 8th grade. Strange World. I should mention that Davosh lives in New England and Kappi and I are in the DC area.
Davosh picks his hands up to the level of his face and tilts his head back with a jerk. Liska scampers into a fold in his robe in alarm, knowing what the strange man is going to attempt.
With a sudden jolt, Davosh squints his left eye nearly shut while the right eye widens alarmingly, its cornflower blue intensifying then fizzling. A perplexed look washes over his features when seemingly nothing happens.
With a slight shrug, he squints the right eye experimentally, opens the left eye tentatively and warily tries again. The earth-colored eye seems to swirl slightly and the pupil expands to double its normal size, causing a slightly disorientating effect as the Evil Eye flashes it hexing power at the troll.
-2 to attack for 1 round. Will Save DC 15 or suffer the effect for 8 rounds.
ha HA! The coin has two sides! And the ancients alone know the truth of it! The strange man crows victoriously.
Baddies up!
GM thunderspirit
Davosh flashes his eye evilly!
DC 15 Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
The beast shakes off the worst of the hex!
Ali flings her own flask of alchemist's fire into combat, but still manages to hit the troll! It burnses it, badly!
A small portion of its wounds from Vojtek's sword heal, though each one the burn marks remain and it is on fire in two places! This clearly affects the troll as it tries to attack the barbarian again!
attack w/shaken & evil eye: 1d20 + 6 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 6 - 2 - 2 = 13
damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
The coin has indeed flipped! The troll flees toward its cave!
Vojtek gets an AoO, and Kappi would but I don't think he has a weapon out.
Then, PARTY UP!
RAGING VOJTEK!!!!
AoO:
Vojtek lashes out at the smouldering creature in a fury and lunges after it, his jaws working open and closed as the man literally glasses his teeth.
Power Attack with Greatsword: 1d20 + 7 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 - 1 + 2 = 19 for 2d6 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 9 + 2 = 17 damage..

ROUND 3
Alch Fire 2nd round damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6 <--W000000T
As the beastie runs away, Ali cooly strides forward, ignoring the snow due to her neat new footwear. She unslings her bow on the move, nocks an arrow, hesitates for a heartbeat to infuse her bow with her magic, and lets fly at the troll's back.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
GM thunderspirit
And Vojtek ends the moss troll threat! With Davosh's advice, Edward empties the flask of alchemist's fire in his hand onto the body to ensure it does not regenerate anew.
Out of combat!
Vojtek Wartooth
Vojtek looks around with a feral snarl and visibly deflates. He sits down in the snow and abruptly falls back to lay sprawled out with his chest heaving.

Edward with the foreshadowing so your GM doesn't have to!
To the left of the party, a bank of quill-like icicles spear outward in a ring, seemingly grown from a heavy sheet of ice covering the ground. The winds and snow are much stronger here.
Beyond the icicle spear ring, barely visible through the ferocious winds and driving snow, is another circle of giant icicle-shaped monoliths. Inside this can occasionally be seen a blue, swirling cylindrical vortex easily ten feet in diameter.
Kappi's motion to move to the cave is on the table. You may also investigate the igloos in the camp or the area to your left.
Vojtek Wartooth
Vojtek stands and looks to tending his wounds. He asks Edward for some healing.

After searching the trolls body, and removing his personal effects like armor and spear . Kappi has the right idea about it. The cave should be next lets make our way there.
Edward moves to the cave entrance while Kappi scouts it.
Kappi Matarito
With his trusty comrades at his back (at/near the cave entrance) Kappi slips back to see about the sleeping guy. Before going into the enclosed space of the cave the young rogue puts away his throwing weapons and pulls his magic short sword.

Still dark. ;-)
Inside the cave, Kappi and Edward discover, atop a flat crate draped with a fur skin, a winged fey looking very much like the one that ambushed them previously. The ceiling rises some fifteen feet overhead, where icicles of frozen condensation hang from sharp stalactites. Near a large bearskin on the floor sits a small lockbox.
Vojtek Wartooth
of course the ceiling is just high enough for it to fly away from my murder-hobo. :-(
Kappi Matarito
Kappi CMB +2
The young thief stands there a moment trying to decide what to do. Though Kappi isnt afraid to get blood on his hands he also is uncertain about murdering a the sleeping fey creature. With a short prayer to Desna to make the right choice he comes to a decision. Carefully sheathing his blade, he picks up the bearskin rug and in one motion brings it down on the fey creature. Kappi throws his body over it and pins the creature in place. I got him! I got him, come on!
Grapple/pin 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 wasnt sure about any bonuses for the creature's small size or using the bear skin rug to help pin it down. Feel free to add a +15 or something.

I say again: BLANKET PARTY!!!!
Kappi Matarito
Hey, uhh... guys come on in now... uhh please.
Elation over capturing the little fey creature now fades to uncertainity. The Varisian teen clearly isnt sure how to go about an interrogation.
Vojtek Wartooth
Vojtek leaps in with eyes blazing, sword in hand. He looks up in anticipation and starts darting his eyes around the ceiling.
Quickly he realizes what happened and beams at Kappi with pride. A capable fighter and a clever foe. Kappi is a man worthy of the North! the barbarian announces in a lusty bellow.
Vojtek works to help Kappi tuck the edges under the creature in order to better secure it so the glib among the party can do their piece. Well done young man, well done. Vojtek speaks for the rogue's ears alone, and is clearly quite pleased with his new companions pluck and skill.

I was gonna wait until morning, but after tonight's heart-stopping Blackhawks-Kings game, I wasn't likely to sleep for a while, so... ;-)
The fey immediately begins to shout in a foreign tongue as Kappi holds him down.
Teb Knotten! Teb Knotten! They are here!
When nothing happens after a few moments, the fey looks nervously from one party member to another, hearing Edward's words and then clearly noticing the use of Sylvan by Davosh and Ali. He is about to respond to Kappi with a verbal barb when Vojtek's thinly-veiled threat changes his mind.
Teb Knotten is dead? it asks Edward in a high-pitched squeak. That will not do, that will not do...oh, Pavril will not be pleased...
