Ooc- kneel & meditate!!!
Round the Fourth
Vojtek glares at Ali for her misplaced show of deference to the enemy and swings his blade once again, his desperation growing.
Power Attack with Greatsword: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 7 - 1 = 26 for 2d6 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1) + 9 + 2 = 16 damage.

Vojtek's mighty blow, while not quite a critical hit, lands and deals damage...but not as much as the warrior thinks it should!
Ali fires her bow but cannot connect, while Kappi moves around to the other side, unsure of how to flank a thing in the air! Meanwhile, Edward tries to undo what the doll hath wrought on him!
Angrily the doll points again at the barbarian, determined to bring him down!

Now that I have this abomination's number.... EVIL EYE. This time it's save or also take a -2 to attack (Save to reduce this penalty to 1 round.)
Evil Eye:
-2 AC: 7 rounds remain
-2 Attack: x rounds remain

DC 16 Will: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 1 = 21
The doll shakes off the worst of the effect this time! Perhaps Davosh's similar eyes no longer have the doll unawares... ;-)
Dungeon Master S
Ah, but the cackle is coming!
GM thunderspirit
Heh!
Ali takes aim and fires her bow again; this time it strikes the doll, knocking it spinning in a somersault and falling to the ground!
Out of combat!
For the record, Vojtek left it at 1 hp. Yay for DR!

I give it a non-magical Stink Eye (TM).
"Let us be gone from this place."
GM thunderspirit
Both the gem eye — a blue sapphire similar to, but higher quality than, the blue quartz gems you've found before — and the mirror eye of the doll detect as magic. The mirror reveals a faint divination aura, while the gem radiates moderate necromancy.
Perception check?
Davosh the Wanderer
"Nay, not here. Let us move. Let us find the cause of this abominable weather."

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Spellcraft, Identify Blue gem: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Spellcraft, Identify mirror gem: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
GM thunderspirit
As you study the blue gem, you could swear you saw a tiny figure that resembled a little girl moving inside. But perhaps your eyes were just playing tricks on you...
Your Spellcraft check doesn't reveal anything about the blue gem, but you learn that the mirror has a divination spell allowing it to act as a scrying device. As you peer at it, you see something peering back! (Except it's blue, LOL)
Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein
Ali shakes her head, breaking her gaze from the gems. Boys, this is strange. In this one... she holds up the blue gem I swear I saw a little girl in there. This one... she holds up the mirror-like gem ... I'm certain it's some sort of scrying device. There's a freaky blue eye looking out of it. It makes me a little sour on us keeping secret!
anybody get the really bad word play there?? this might help explain it...
Davosh the Wanderer
"Bury the doll, break the mirror gem. Take the other. And let us do this with alacrity less we find ourselves facing a ghost."
GM thunderspirit
Will post something on this later tonight or tomorrow.
GM thunderspirit
After taking the blue gem, destroying the mirror, and burying the doll, the group regathers outside the hut. The trail continues through a narrow pass, descending south and east into an icy valley.
As Kappi leads the way (taking 10 along the way), he notes an unusual pattern of lines is scratched into the fresh snow covering the trail at the edge of the clearing. Looking a little closer, he notes that it is a warning in Common that reads "Turn back before the winter devours you." As Kappi reads the last word, the pattern explodes with a blue flash!
Kappi needs to make a Reflex save, DC 14!

Making a save on Phil's behalf. (Texted him.) REF: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Kappi Matarito
Kappi leaps to the side slipping on the ice and barely avoids the blast.
The youth looks to the others Who do you think left that?
Kappi carefully scans the immediate area for further traps or clues to who left the magical trap.
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Kappi is afraid of setting off magical runes so he does his search with his eyes mostly closed...
GM thunderspirit
Kappi's lightning-quick reflexes save him from a face full of frosty hurt. He takes a quick look around the area but doesn't see anything.
When the rogue explains that he read something just before the explosion, you are fairly certain he encountered a glyph of warding trap.
Continuing the descent down the ridge, a cold wind picks up through the valley, bringing with it a spray of sleet and broken ice which stings exposed skin as you walk. The sky ahead roils with thick, grey clouds and the sun is only a dim glow somewhere in the mist. At last, you reach the valley at the base of the ridge (dubbed Somir Valley in Dryden Kepp's journal).
The floor of Somir Valley is still forested, but the snow is deeper here. The trail is a little harder to find through the fresh snow and the blowing spray, which was rising and falling before you entered the valley but now feels constant. Visibility is reduced in the valley itself (penalties on Perception checks).
You spot tracks in the snow similar to those seen previously, except without the accompanying blood.
What do you guys want to do?
Davosh the Wanderer
Arcana: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26 "Kappi! My boy that was close. You almost became victim to magical trap most foul. This is the work of a cleric, and worrisome. When the gods get involved, we almost never prosper. Edward, please forgive me for sounding rather Rahadoumish."
Nature: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21 "Thar she blows! A hump like a ....snowhill. The white weasel is close! Look at the tracks." Davosh's voice changes to a think Andoran accent for the warning before returning to its natural timber.
Liska, seek my pet.
Liska: Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 (less any penalties.)
Liska: Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26
Davosh the Wanderer
As Kappi begins his rounds, Davosh begins mumbling something about the Rahadoum. "Interesting concept. Religion is banned as they consider it tantamount to slavery... Free will.... not pawns...."
GM thunderspirit
Liska freezes where she is on the map and sends back vibes of predatory fear. Just empathy, not communication yet, right?
Davosh the Wanderer
Yep, no communication yet, just emotion.
"A beast approaches. Arm yourselves!" Despite his utter lack of martial prowess, Davosh pulls forth his rarely used morningstar and looks about."
Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein
Ali notes Kappi's hiding, and Davosh's drawing weapon. She smirks in appreciation of both. Then the Magus draws her own blade, and strides closer to Davosh--making plenty of noise in an attempt to cover Kappi's hiding. She's got a spell ready to fly, as well as her blade...
Vojtek Wartooth
Vojtek draws his weapon and prepares for an epic battle with the White. He is pretty sure he can hear the leathery flap of its massive wings in the sky beyond the treetops.
GM thunderspirit
As Edward moves forward, he spies a sizable white-furred rodent, completely white except for the tip of its tail which is black, gnawing on the remnants of a fresh, cooked haunch of meat. It has a few open wounds on it here and there.
When it sees him in return, it growls and rises up, intent on protecting its meal!

As the giant weasel prepares to charge Edward, the party feels the wind rise up again, but this time is seems to come straight out of Compton the East as a swirling vortex of air and snow appears among the trees overhead! Snow and ice crash toward the forest floor as (Ali Kn: planes: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17) Ali recognizes the vortex as actually being an air elemental!
About ten feet above ground it drops something, which remains at about the same height. This is another atomie, the type of the fey you saw with the white stag, though this one is armed with a sickle!
The weasel charges Edward!

ROUND 1
Seeing the situation suddenly become so much more fluid, Ali notes that Davosh just whammied the atomie. Doing the quick calculus that between her and Vojtek, they should make quick work of the wounded weasle, she unleashes the spell she'd been ready to throw at the vermin--but instead targets the newly-weakened atomie (that sickle could be painful...)
A black ray of negative energy courses out of her pointed finger, toward the little fey.
Ranged Touch, Ray of Enfeebleent: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 <--I'm thinking that's likely a hit on a ranged touch...
The ray (presumably) hits the sickle-wielding bugger, and its strength is visibly sapped
Strength damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Ali then moves to close with the weasel
Ed, back off and let Vojtek in!!

Edward!

Crap that's me, Joe asked me to Autopilot and I forgot
Edward is taken aback by the appearance of the flying creature before him. He ducks to the side reflexively and does a quick shuffle to get clear of the creature. Without a thought, the man issues a short hissing sound from between clenched teeth and points to the cruelly curved sickle in the fey's hand.
Cast Burning Disarm. Item turns red hot for a moment, wielder drops weapon and take 1d4 DMG. Reflex save negates. 5 foot step north.
Dungeon Master S
That's not quite right. He can CHOOSE to drop the weapon, which necessitates the save to do it in time. He can voluntarily fail the save to keep his weapon in hand.
