Son of a... I posted here Monday, but apparently it didn't stick.
As you stand in the room, the sound of scraping silverware is followed by the appearance of the spirits of an attractive young Taldan couple. Adorned in evening wear and expensive jewelry, the pair go through the motions of a civilized dinner without a word. Even as she pours his wine and he slices her roast, their gestures are cold and routine. Suddenly, the young male spirit gestures to his wine glass, struggling to speak. The female spirit grasps at her throat and fixes him with a shocked glare. Moments later, their forms both slump to the table in apparent death.
Everyone, DC 16 Fort or take 1d3 ⇒ 2 Con damage. Actually make six Fort Saves, each round you save, you don't take the damage.

Akaash Vashtar |

Can't we make the Knowledge check once the haunt comes into effect? If so, Akaash will tell his companions about it (and let people read the spoiler).
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20
Barring that:
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Con dmg: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Can't we act in the first round? If so, Akaash will apply positive energy from the wand on the haunt.
CLW, round 1: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
CLW, round 2: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
CLW, round 3: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
CLW, round 4: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
CLW, round 5: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
CLW, round 6: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
If that works, Akaash would take 2 Con damage if the haunt is destroyed after its first round's effect, 5 otherwise.

Roger Fort: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Roger Fort: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Roo Fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Roo Fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Roo Fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Roo Fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Roo Fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

Roo takes 4 con damage, he is not a happy marsupial.

Haunts are weird and super-tough to actually catch without Detect Undead up at all times. I imagine this is a Poison-like effect or something. If it can be positive energy's I've got channels and bardic knowledge at the ready.

Kafir Raml-meshayh-alemlhed |

Would a haunt count as divine for purposes of my save bonuses? I also have SR against divine magic if that counts.
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 (maybe +4)
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 (maybe +4)
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 (maybe +4)
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 (maybe +4)
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 (maybe +4)
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 (maybe +4)
So I might have failed once, depending on if my divine bonus counts or not.
Kafir watches the scene in horror. "That was unpleasant. What the hell was that?"

GM Tektite |

I do not believe you can make the check once the haunt is triggered. You have to perceive the "hint" and make the knowledge check, to know what it is before triggered.
I wouldn't think it counts as divine.
Everyone survives the haunt....
Continuing through the eastern door, you enter what appears to have been the kitchen. Perhaps this kitchen was once used to prepare opulent dinners for memorable events, but now the tables are all but bare. Scraps of meat and cheese give proof that a meal was eaten here recently, but otherwise the kitchen seems unused. One of the long tables still smells like it was used for butchering, and the multicolored stains darkening it chipped surface make that even clearer.
Checking the two smaller rooms, one is a pantry containing a few hunks of bread, cheese, and jerky, while the other is the old cook's quarters. It contains a small cot, a trunk, and a rickety wooden table. The table bears a whetstone, while the trunk has two potions of cure light wounds and a vial of wyvern poison.
Ready to go upstairs?

Algonso Gentky |

pcp: 1d20 ⇒ 18 surv: 1d20 ⇒ 7
"A whetstone, I can believe a cook would own. The poison from a dragon, however, I would doubt."

Akaash Vashtar |

Was it considered Poison? If so, Akaash would have got +4 on his saves. Also, if we make the first save do we still need to save for the rest? The +4 bonus would be enough to make the first save.
Perception check is an auto success.
Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
"Interesting. The kitchen is somehow indeed still in use, and I'm discerning two sets of tracks here. The first from the wererat, the second from someone much heavier. I would have said a golem but golems don't need to eat, so it's something (or someone) much more alive than that."

Algonso Gentky |

But not the band, Poison.
arcana: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 Hoping to roll low to think golems are demons, too.
"Interesting. Perhaps servitors of some sort?"

Kafir pushes through the southern door.

GM Tektite |

Kafir leads the way into the southern room. This bleak room is filled with broken iconography, smashed holy symbols, and tomes with violent or suggestive artwork on their covers. Standing by a desk along the west wall, an armored woman brandishes a longsword with a cruel, serrated edge. Her skin is weathered, and her face scarred and scowling.
“You are not permitted here. Present your champion. If I kill him, you are bound by your honor to leave. If he kills me, this place is yours to do with as you see fit.” She states.

The smile fades from the woman's face and turns to a grimace as Roger! pummels her with his fists. Her grimace turns to shock as she falls to the ground, unconscious.

As you heal up, a door to the northeast opens and a breature draped in robes steps out. Claw-tipped tentacles emerge from the cuffs, clutching wands and soul gems, while below its robe’s margins, its multiple-jointed legs—almost like a reptilian insect’s—end in clawed, three-toed chitinous feet. Its face remains perpetually covered by a dark veil, and a trio of long, forked tongues periodically emerges from its rounded mouth and tastes the air around its thin lips. It looks as if ready to cast a spell, but notes the woman's unconscious body and silently regards you for a moment.
